After 26 years of building my business, I treated myself to a 2016 Vanquish and I will tell you it’s just awesome. No, it’s not the top performer in its class, but it’s the ultimate in design, style and craftsmanship. The glorious V12 and Aston tuned exhaust is simply epic.....my choice!
Aston... they aren't the fastest, still fast enough, not the most technologically advanced, although still out there. But boy are they beautiful. I don't have the money, of course, but I'd take one over a Ferrari or Lambo any day.
You prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account..? I stupidly forgot the login password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me
@Kane Lucas i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff now. Seems to take a while so I will get back to you later with my results.
@@david3n544 the infotainment is perfectly adequate and does the job. Yes it’s a little dated vs Mercedes’ etc but it does the job and I’ve never once struggled. You can have apple car play installed as MrJWW has this done on his 2009 dBS
I immediately felt that this car was the representation of perfection onto the four wheels. Ever since it was introduced on the market. I'm Italian and I'm not afraid to admit that my fav car manufacturer is Aston Martin, since 2006 or so. This one is with no doubts my favorite one, a great Grand Tourer, an exquisite exemplar. The perfect balance between elegance, style, power, design, quality of materials and performance. Definitely the first car I'd buy if I had the money, hands down. I wouldn't even think of getting any other car. I'd choose the Vanquish as the first any day.
I had a ride in the Vanquish. Engine and gearbox are sublime. Looks are stunning. Interior is so-so. Speed is terrifying. Ride, for a GT that won't be driven on the track, is intolerable.
This is one of the cars I really want to collect one day. It's my favorite Aston Martin vehicle. But I'm a car guy at heart so it makes it hard to choose when there's so many beautiful cars to choose from. That's when you become a collector and buy ALL of your favorites. 😊
I know it's not necessarily their style, but one day I'd love to see Aston Martin tune up that V12 to stupid levels of power and ram it into a lightweight, mid-engined monster. It would be beautiful.
Dan I guess they want keep it a bit tamed, within gentlemen limits. they just see any point in making a car ungainly, brash, ostentatious, something that might offend the aristocracy.
This really may be my favorite car ever, just because it's a supercar/grand tourer that isn't all about the numbers. Yeah it's quick, yeah it can corner, but the way it sounds, the way it looks, the way it'll make you feel, that's what makes this such an amazing car. Aston definitely got it right with this one.
violian5 Actually I think Astons are diametrically different from a design perspective. Always on the cutting edge of aesthetics of whatever decade the car came out. Look at the 1970's Astons against today or the DB3.
Really great review Alex! When I worked at Lotus we worked on the old Vanquish, I had the best time ever being around that car but this one looks even better in every way possible, a beautiful car indeed !
That little segment at 0:38 was absolutely sexual. The music was a perfect choice to blend in with the pure beauty of the vanquish and the sounds of that glorious V12. Seriously, 0:38 to 0:52 is just perfect cinematography and video editing, I have legit watched it over like 50 times now I think. Link to the music?
xcars is now my favorite car channel. you guys cover all the bases , the videos are very well filmed and the commentary is spot on and objective. i guess when America makes better cars , you guys will test them. we,re getting though.
I think this is the prettiest car Britain has made in 50 years at least. All the variations on this body style are just so pure and sleek and beautiful.
You made me look twice at the car. I have always loved both the interior and exterior of the car but felt it was slow for the amount of money you would spend. But maybe I was looking at it all wrong, its a brilliant GT car. Great video guys.
Hassan 504 that s why i wrote stile AND passion AND soul... AND style is Born in Italy. The italians have style in thier blood. Pininfarina, Giugiaro, Bertone, Valentino, Zegna, Agusta, Ducati... Is it enough?
Well you're right about the passion flair and style that's all best left to the Italians, but I think its class and sophistication which the British cars do best at
Very elegant and beautiful car, as usual from Aston. Though the white/black colour scheme is not the most flattering for it. I wonder how much longer that good old V12 has left to go before a smaller turbo unit kills it off? Enjoy it while it lasts!
Yeah its always very confusing. Ha! They should really standardize all the measurements. As a general rule multiply euro mpg by .6 to get US mpg since imperial to US gallons is .83 and then euro mpg testing is horribly inaccurate and generous. Like take the 528i i believe in europe its like 45 mpg and here it's mid to upper 20s i believe
If I was in my 30's Id buy a Lamborghini. If I was in my 40's Id buy a Ferrari. I am in my 50's and I would buy an Aston Martin. Despite I am Italian, and forget I can not afford any of them. Modern Aston Martin are truly beautiful designs.
Stunning looking and sounding car as always from Aston. The rear end is a particular highlight. Very elegant and distinctive. Although I am starting to tire of the ubiquity of white cars. I think it would look much classier in black or British racing green for example. I'm amazed at 32mpg from the V12.....although I doubt this will be an average figure for real world driving!
Not to the f12 but that car only lapped Laguna 2 seconds faster than the previous 6 speed Vanquish. In a straight line no though it will out handle the Bently.
When you said that the new Vanquish reminds you of the older generations the only thought that came on my mind was that Aston Martin sales a kind of rebrand because the platform and the engine had more than ten years on the production line. That translates in a sitting position I found on most of Renault cars and an overkill choose of transmition. Not only because the shifts are slow compared with other GT's because the torque is overwhelming for that engine but because that results in in a short term life. If you have the money for a Vanquish that is not a problem but an implementation of an AMG ported engine is welcomed (as well because Aston do not have the "power" to invest now in a new engine). Overall the car is not intended for driving on the track and casual drivers that just want a sense of speed will enjoy every aspect of the Vanquish, especially the safety and design because the British spirit is emanating from all it's joints.
Aston Martins are art unlike most other cars which are appliances, they are designed to make you feel good, and they effortlessly excel at that.
I have been in business for 12 years and I'm also looking on getting one, 2015 light grey. Good time to buy.
Good choice
5 years after your comment....how was/is your Vanquish?
timeless, extravagant, generates sheer and utter lust. the Brits do grand turing like none other
The 8 Speed ZF is like the LS engine. Put it in anything and it works.
vivalaphill Only better! ;)
vivalaphill Ah the Audi Sport Quattro. Such and awesome rally car.
InfuriatedHawk it is ;)
They really ONLY choose the world's best of the Vanquish :)
Aston... they aren't the fastest, still fast enough, not the most technologically advanced, although still out there.
But boy are they beautiful. I don't have the money, of course, but I'd take one over a Ferrari or Lambo any day.
TheCloudhopper unfortunately you are incorrect. Ferrari is the best and most desirable
TheCrazycheetah Unfortunately you're a dumbass and everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Agree, 100%, personally I think this is probably the most beautiful car they have ever made, gorgeous machine!
agree, If I have Enzo or LaFerrari I would sell it then buy 3 Vanquish
I'd buy it on the name alone.....??!
The Vanquish is the most beautiful car ever made.
***** I think the Bently Speed is the most beautiful, but the Vanquish isnt that far off my list.
Moose Only That Bentley Speed is a looker, too. Classy, sophisticated, reserved but powerful. Sounds like we're generally on the same page :-)
***** I wouldn't mind having either in my garage thats for sue.
Moose Only Ditto
*****
no, it really isn't
You guys have the consistent ability to make us crave a British car, on UK roads, with UK weather. Bravo. Another great film!
You prolly dont give a damn but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account..?

@Kane Lucas It worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy!
Thanks so much, you really help me out!
@Jonas Colton You are welcome :)
One of the best looking, best sounding cars of all time. Great video!
THEEEE best looking and best sounding car of all time. I bought a coupe carbon black edition vanquish a month ago and I’ve never been happier!
@@CaMMMMera curious about the infotainment, does it have CarPlay? Also, how’s the b&o audio?

One of the best looking cars of the last 40 years.
The vanquish from die another day got me into Aston Martin but that DB5 from Goldfinger is a beauty too
One of the most BEAUTIFUL cars.
Stunning. And the sound of that fantastic V12..

You can change the interior in the color your like and in the style you like. Its a beauty in every way.
OMG this gearbox literally unlocked it's potential. Now it's perfect Aston :)

I would sell my body for this car.
***** hahahaha. Thanks, do you know of anybody that is looking for an sex slave 19/m in trade for a Martin?
+Braulio Santiago You still wouldn't be able to afford it...
+Braulio Santiago dafuck kinda question is that??
+Durveish Rs Fuck you man, you don't know my life.
Braulio Santiago dont think i want to
I know it's not necessarily their style, but one day I'd love to see Aston Martin tune up that V12 to stupid levels of power and ram it into a lightweight, mid-engined monster. It would be beautiful.
Dan well, not mid-engined, but the vulcan is exactly that, just with a front engine.
Yeah what he said ^
Basically the Vulcan...
Dan I guess they want keep it a bit tamed, within gentlemen limits. they just see any point in making a car ungainly, brash, ostentatious, something that might offend the aristocracy.
Dan check their aston martin gt or whatever they changed its name to.. it's a lightweight vantage with a v12
Dan you mean the Aston Martin V12 Vantage S? XD
Love this piece! Brilliantly done. Music ques and creative narration are spot-on. I've always liked xcarfilms production for that matter.
Just looking at this piece is an experience.
This really may be my favorite car ever, just because it's a supercar/grand tourer that isn't all about the numbers. Couldn't have put it better myself
The ending speech gave me goosebumps...
Such a sexy car.......and the sound!
I feel like Aston Martin's are just like Porsches - the style has essentially remained unchanged yet it still looks amazing to this day.
violian5 Actually I think Astons are diametrically different from a design perspective. Always on the cutting edge of aesthetics of whatever decade the car came out. Look at the 1970's Astons against today or the DB3.
Jorge Rojas unfortunately the latest Aston’s have screwed up
Really great review Alex!

so when are you presenting top gear?
Aston Martin is art
Exceptional film and script! Once again chaps , we'll done!!

KHD damn that sucks. Got anything instead?
niels nielsen yeah
save 50£ and got Porsche cayman gts 😍😊
XCAR has the best car reviewing account ever. Love it! And this car!
Fantastic video showcasing my favorite car of all time!
Eh, for me it was the DB9 that pulled me in.
Kalsonic Same here.
+Kalsonic For me it was the old twin supercharged Vantage from the 90s... a castle on wheels that hit 60 in under 5s.
I don't know what I was thinking, it was the 1998 Vantage that pulled me in. Such a gorgeous car, oh my.
Very nice video Alex, you did one on the Maserati Grandturismo and the be honest these 2 cars are quite similar. I still want an Aston however :-)
This channel is gold.
You guys keep getting better!!
I like it.
the size of this car is bigger at the rear, nice to look at, it's pretty awesome..
Everyone talks about Chris Harris, but this guy is awesome too!
British people know how to make good looking cars.
So do the Italians and Germans
except for the navigating systems ( from a volvo LOL )
what i like about the old vanquish and vantage is that its somewhat mechanical even the infotainment system.
You made me look twice at the car. I have always loved both the interior and exterior of the car but felt it was slow for the amount of money you would spend. But maybe I was looking at it all wrong, its a brilliant GT car. Great video guys.
The Brits make the most stylish cars.
I m sorry but if you want style passion and soul... Italy is the country.
Vega Rapidus nah

The zf8 tran is the best choice for this type of car, smooth, as quick as dct but having torque converter great for creeping through traffic etc
that last statement got me. nice 1 mate
lol i dont know if he meant it or not, but the last bit when he talked about choices it sounded pretty deep
Since the db11 is coming you guys should do a send off video for the db9
I really hope you reach one million subscribers soon
Perfect. This is the spec I'd order if I had the money for one
Is that jacket Belstaff? Looks good on you
Awesome. One of your best, Alex.
Beautiful car, beautiful video. Great job, guys.
Verrryyy nice review! As good as the best of Top Gear.
This has to be one of the most exquisite and beautiful cars in the world.
Smashed it. Very good video presentation
Does this have cylinder deactivation because 30mpg seem quite a lot for a 6.0 V12.
Charlez Four you do know he's talking about imperial gallons when referring to mpg right?
Lucas Fanning-Haag Ah makes sense. Thanks!

Thanks!
Awesome video. Great car, great presenter as well. What's the name of the song in the beginning?
one of my favourite aston ever love it
If I was in my 30's Id buy a Lamborghini. If I was in my 40's Id buy a Ferrari. I am in my 50's and I would buy an Aston Martin. Despite I am Italian, and forget I can not afford any of them. Modern Aston Martin are truly beautiful designs.
can you guys please do a review of the Lexus LFA? I feel like that is the only car you guys have never done a review of.
Great work as always
One of my favorite British Luxury cars. Interior&exterior.
I plan on getting one of these as they are depreciating like a mclaren
Covid made them go up... Give it another 2 years... But the rear lights I find are not aging well.
how come this channel is not more famous than Chris Harris is beyond me!
Love your reviews mate!!
Stunning beautiful , same as corvette 2020
Stunning looking and sounding car as always from Aston.

Is it me or is the corner at 6:14 also in the newest Clio video?
Amazing scenery. Where was it shoot?
Could be Brecon, Wales or Scotland. Maybe north England. Just saw sheep. Prob Wales. I'm Welsh. : )
I've seen one in flesh. It's as georgeous as a supermodel. Heck, it is far more beautiful maybe.
Full of great quotes at the end there...
Absolutely gorgeous.
I don't chose the boring life. The boring life chooses me.
please do review on Lamborghini Huracan or Aventador
the old 6 speed gearbox on the vanquish is actually made by zf as well
Raced a vanquish today joining an A road. It rinsed me but i managed to keep up, after watching this, think the driver was really trying hard lol
Its so beautiful. i wouldn't buy the vanquish even if i had deep pockets. Because i wouldnt be able to look at it anymore.
PERFECTION
Thx guy's great review as usual.
Looking at buying one soon! A 2014 model 😁
2:23 " You can take a moment sit back and think what you're doing... " LOL
Does it compare to the Continental Gt or the F12 ??
Not to the f12 but that car only lapped Laguna 2 seconds faster than the previous 6 speed Vanquish. In a straight line no though it will out handle the Bently.
Adam Petten yes it will out pace a Bentley Continental GT
When you said that the new Vanquish reminds you of the older generations the only thought that came on my mind was that Aston Martin sales a kind of rebrand because the platform and the engine had more than ten years on the production line. this era was so much better than today imo designwise
Alex you should tryout for the TopGear position
0-62 in 3.8 seconds?! That's a LOT faster than I expected.
German here: I love this car, i love this show, perfect combo!
Hear Hear!!
When I saw the thumbnail i thought it was a new car so timeless
Is there an option to have one without the spoiler...
Great film!!
My new favorite car vid...thanks!
4:20 Lol, reminds me of the last time I took Acid ; )
That's what I call a good looking beast
I love this guy
how is this compared to the f12 you drove?
