If anybody is wondering why some of their mods aren't in the Workshop directory, you need to load them through the DayZ client first

preatty easy, just press ctrl + F and search for *.bikey copy all then and paste where you need to
If you think that hard, wait until you star editing XML's and Jsons to configure them.
some of them have the same damn name. How in the world am I supposed to copy the same named files in the directory

If multiple mods have the same name for the .bikey file, you only need to copy one of them! :)

you should definitely do a all-in-one video from start to finish how to start your own local server with mods in one video so I and many more people can do it in one shot because I can't save my progress on offline mode so I'm hoping that you could help by making a video showing us all how to just start our own servers so we can save our progress. because sometimes you just like to play the game solo without loosing everything if you know what I mean LOL
So there's no saving? This is just a create your session and after that it's all gone? So I cut actually play dz off line this is just a editor essentially??
@@letrface_8596I know it’s a late reply but offline mode is made as more of a testing space for server owners I believe. I think because of that it makes more sense to wipe everything you’ve tested every time you open it up but I could be completely wrong.

If anyone is having any troubles with missing PBO's or whatever, just remove the Dash from the mod string
instead of "-mod=@Esseker;@Unlimited-Stamina" do "-mod=@Esseker;@Unlimited Stamina"

I follow exactly what you did but when I try and join it says I have mods that the server doesn', (unlimited stamina), and right under that it says I'm trying to load with unlimited stamina.
Uh.. Yeah the "!workshop" file is not there. I have 3 mods Downloaded. I'm not new to Arma modding but I am new to Dayz
EDIT: Yeah no, not there. I mean it is there, I can open it through the client when I go to the mods, and then the folder is there, but if I back out of it it takes me to the Dayz.EXE folder with the file now gone. I've tried %Appdata% but it isn't there either. I am on Win11 so this is probably so crap they've done. So If you are forced to use the shitshow of win11 like me then you have to find it through the client.
EDIT2: Nope, fixed it, you have to make the Dayz folder hidden then unhide it again, then it will appear, !workshop is set to hidden by default.

It has been a year, I wanted to play some solo Dayz again, set it all up again, wanted a mod that adds money, came back to this video, ran into the same issue, tried my own fix from a year ago, and now it no longer works. A few updates to windows11 since then so go figure. But you can still get to the file by simply typing in "!workshop" at the end of your file path.

My biggest problem with creating my own server is the fact that VERY RARELY will the modders write the "Types" and "cfgspawnables" code properly.
Ive spent hours basically fixing every error to get the "types" to work after adding their code. so frustrating and time consuming, would be great if i could just copy and paste the code but nope, half of the mods I basically re-write the code myself again in working order. XML Validators and stuff don't work at all so idk.
see i need someone to teach me lol but if not lol ill gladly love if somebody could edit loot spawns for me or teach me lmaoo cuz its sucks and i been trying to download mods all day and no errors half time but in the client it says my server only has 1 mod and its not loaded and its weird af
@@kingsyco53rd dude if you wanna learn how to write code, go to school. If you have no idea what you’re doing and you don’t know how to write code I do not recommend trying to start your own server because if it’s not plug-in play, you will not be able to do it. You will literally spend months, trying to get less than a dozen mods working and they won’t be working properly.
The biggest problem that a lot of people run into as soon as they start modeling Dayz is even if they get the mods installed it breaks the rest of the game. They add guns, but then the weapon spawn across the map is completely broken and nothing spawns properly I’m telling you man Daisy is not an easy modify. If you’re looking at these types of videos, you really probably have no business trying to moderate yourself just pay somebody to run in your server.
So either go to school or learn how to code, and then have an understanding on how to mod games, or find somebody who knows how to do this already, and hire them to set up your server and manage it for you

I can not find the batch file for the life of me
After following all steps, I am able to launch the server. However, no mods are loaded and it shows that no mods are necessary to launch the local server. Any ideas on a solution?
I checked over my line of code and realized I miss typed it. I was missing a "-" before one of my lines. It worked perfectly after that!

Hello, I followed every step of the video and when I start the DayZ Launcher and check the mods on the server, it says that no mods are on the server... Can anybody help? (btw i'm on Windows 11 if it helps)
Good video and most steps work. But for some reason my server files don't have any form of start related batch files, so I can't get the server to read the mods at all.

My favorite part is when you're like "this folder is kinda hidden" and then carry on your merry way without further explanation or elaboration.

'PLEASE HELP" where do I find my own dayz nitrado server on my pc. I looked in the same directory as you did and only found the base files. I just setuup my new server but I can't find it in my pc.

I have a problem : when I start thé server without mods it works but when I add all my mods and start the server, the bat file opens the cmd and starts DayZ server with all the ticked boxes but the last 2, and then DayZ server closes automatically After 2-3 seconds and the server doesn't start

I have a dozen mods that I want to run on my single player server. How do I add those in the note++? I copied the keys in the appropriate folder but I am lost after that step.

I'm trying to setup and mod my own DayZ server however when I follow your video exactly I'm coming a PEBKAC error most likely but when I add basic map in i get this error using your bat file you recommended in you how to install guide the error I get is (cant compile "Game" script module! Basic Map/scripts/3_game/basicmapcontroller.c(93) : Unknown type 'Call Type') please help me with this issue

Just got a question that im unsure of, but is it possible to take mods from steam and inject them (to put it crudely) into a nitrado server or are mods only for lan based servers or am I just stupid, thanks in advance
i recommend re doing your whole series i can barely see the small text and all of them seem to be in 720p
i have 40+ mods, i have all keys in keys folder but some keys are same so i let that go but i even added all that mods on start.bat file added manually and i dont think that i have a error in there

You have to edit the XML files to add items in your server

If someone can help I downloaded a mod and inside there is a scripts folder and a .cpp file. I have no idea where to put them since there are no instructions on the mod page. Inside the scripts folder there is another folder called "4_world"

i did exact same but the unlimited stamina isnt with my other mods , its said its sub and did a download just cant see it. i even search my pc drives for "unlimited stamina" etc. i alo see ppl in the mod comments asking if they can unpack it, not sure if that mean anything

Bro it really does not work for me. I have installed maybe 24 mods and followed all the steps but then I execute the bat file and enter dayz and reload my lan servers and no mods are there. Except one that it coult not find and wants me to ignore. I've sat with this a couple of hours and watched many tutorials. Can someone help me?
post the content of your start.bat file here. also did you add the keys from all the mods to the keys folder in dayz server folder?

After taking all the numbers from the workshop folder and trying to rig my own version. I finish up and load in to see if it works... Low and behold steam finally loads my mods and creates a !workshop folder. Finally! Patience or something like that.

If you add expansion, do I need to add all the guns ect to the XML files?

Thanks for the video!! I was able to install all the MODs I wanted... BUT... there is one that I'm find it hard to make it work, CODE LOCK.
I already added it's key into the server keys folder, added the type xml so the CodeLock spawns and offcourse added the name of the mod into my bat file, but when trying to enter in the game the mod's name shows only as @Code and don't work. Any trick on Code Lock?

I do not have the DayZServerChernarus folder, I typed it in and it's no where in my PC. I can however launch my server and go in and play the game. Now in the DayzServer folder there is a Keys folder is that a different folder from the Keys folder you are using?

You don't have the DayzServerChernarus because that's what he named his local server when he created it. You're not looking for that folder, you're looking for whatever you called your local server when you set it up. For example dayzserverchernarus is what his local Sever (offline single player server) is called. Mine is called Ryan's Server. Just choose yours and continue to follow the steps

Everything went swimmingly until I tried to actually load in.
All the mods were greyed out and read "Unrecognized", and when I tried to load in, I received an error message saying I had mods that the server doesn't.
What gives?
Are all the mods copied from your !workshop DayZ folder, to the local server folder, and have you copied the mods keys to the servers keys folder?

Yes. Simply change the value to increase the lifespan. Example: 10800 would be 3 Hours (180x60sec=10800sec)
