I know it may sound very dump but the setter isn't getting much attention like spiker or libero. Maybe when he makes a dump. But I don't know if I want to be a setter or a wing spiker. Because I'm not tall. Only 1,71 m.🤔
Kein Bock height doesn’t matter as long as u can improve u have your steps and u can jump you pretty much good 😂

You should write a book on Volleyball. That book includes Theory, Drills, Common mistakes etc. That book would become a cheat sheet for all players.

I've done it a few times, and I absolutely love to see the opponent team getting confused and don't know what to do, or react.
@Elevate Yourself figured that you tend to already go downwards when you do your dumps. If you'd actually try to set, your timing on jumping would be slightly different.
So I guess as a middle blocker that's a sign if someone wants to dump you :)
My coach said that I could be the team’s setter but here I am, not even knowing the setter signals nor how to setter dump. Thankfully your videos help a lot!

Hey coach, can you do a video on the gray areas (as well as clear cut cases) of when a dump would be a throw/lift? Or in general also for any attack that isn't a spike? I've seen some players (ex-high school and college club level) do stiff-armed "pushes" and claim that if you don't break wrist, elbow doesn't bend, etc. it's OK. Thanks!

Can you dump when you’re coming from the back row? I’m a setter that comes from back row and I’m trying to learn how to legally dump the ball. If I remember correctly, I can... please reply!!😁
In case you're still wondering, dumping a ball is illegal from the back row if you are jump setting. To legally dump, you need to be under the net when you push the ball over but that kind of defeats the purpose of dumping cause you might as well be giving your opponent a chance ball on two.

I keep hearing from my daughters coach that she cannot dump the ball as a setter bc of a back row attack violation. Something about being back row, leaving her feet, and/or the ball being above or below the net. Can someone clarify? Are setters always back row, or can they also be front row? Confusing. Thx!
The setter is like any other position and moves the same way on the court, when in the front row a setter is allowed to do pretty much whatever they want (dumps) but in the back row they are not allowed to jump and send it over on the second touch.
I'm confused can you explain I'm a setter and I don't jump set very often but I thought as a setter your not allowed to jump and dump when your playing front? Or is that only when your playing back

Can you teach us how to do a zero tempo quick? If you can't do it, then can you teach us how to do a roll dive?
I believe those are too slow to be zero tempo quicks. I think that the spiker needs to be in the air before the setter touches the ball. Is that a zero tempo quick? Don't worry if you can't do it. Just please make a rolling dive video.

This is why I hate playing co op, 5'2 great setters, but a little heavy girls arent dumping the ball when the net at least 7'8
I've seen the setter from the US national team, Micah Christenson, do a dump and he literally hits and has a similar speed to a spike. What is that? haha

Is there a rule that you cant dump a ball, or can you do it everytime you want?
You are able to dump when you're on the front row ( position 2 3 4 in rotation ). You should search for Volleyball Rotation so you can know where position you are in the rotation
