8:14 That looked so incredible, imagine using all this practice time and actually applying it into a game without thinking about it, like the moment where Hinata's already in the air and Kageyama can sense Hinata calling for the ball "You're not going to do it?"
That haikyuu related content from you made my Day and lifted my mood. I just wanna thank you for staying connected to us as your community and to keep going with the Haikyuu journey
I wonder if coach watched Brazil's matches in this last World Championship, where the setter Cachopa and Flávio were literally doing a minus tempo quick from the middle sometimes. Was just beautiful and gave me no other reaction then freak out how good they can synchronize. Lots of love from 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
At first, I thought you were our Volleyball coach yesterday haha! I joined the volleyball club in our school and tryouts began yesterday (Saturday for us) and before that day, I watched a ton of your videos just to get an idea of how I should play in the team since I had no experience whatsoever. So, Tryouts came and our coach looked a lot like you! Well, somewhat. But from what I remember, his teaching resembles alot like yours eapecially the video on how to spike properly. I wasn't picked in the tryouts, but had a blast of a time playing!
I love the sets. I got a suggestion for future video. Maybe do a mix of amazing haikyuu trick done by other players in the series. Atsumu crouching set, oikawa out of court set, tanaka angle spike and kyoken parallel to net run spike to name a few
Love seeing someone else set for Camilo! Had the pleasure of setting for him at USAV. What a great baller - amazing attitude! Love these videos... Haikyuu is such an incredible gift for volleyball. I have seen at least 5 amazing players who have worked their way up the leagues at my club after being inspired to play by it! Good stuff Coach Donny! Thanks for the good vids :)
“The ball will appear!” So thrilling to watch this in real life. Thanks Coach Donny and Camilo for making it happen! Also last month I couldn’t take it any more and treated myself to a Sakuraco subscription. The Tsukimi box blew me away and now I can’t wait for the Ibaraki one!
I think for something like that you should have a third person to toss the ball for you. For these fast sets your hitter has to jump before you set. That is almost impossible if your hitter also has to toss the ball. But still a great video 👍🏽
I just started watching your video and I really want to say that you guys are amazing 😁😁👏👏 and funny too 😁😁😂😂😂 it's really nice see how you are doing the same things as Haikyuu guys do. Good job!! Can I suggest ti have a third one? As the same as Hitoka helps Hinata and Kageyama? I think it will be helpful with the first pass 😉😉😉
The thing about the freak shot from the anime is that both the spiker and setter jump at the same time which means the set is just extremely fast and accurate. I don't think anyone irl has done it accurately
@@HapPawherewhich for the most part is borderline impossible lol. Most setters won't even bother doing that, the toss speed is too high to keep exact control (exactly the reason why Kageyama is such a good setter, his power-control balance is beyond anyone in the series)
in terms of timing it was quite accurate. Don't forget that Hinata is supposed to be quite small and have a really high hit. If you do the same speed with a taller spiker that also doesn't have that kind of vertical, he would have to jump later.
Once I did a clinic where we worked on middle setter and there was one setter that was setting minus tempo threes and no one but we was hitting off him. Connecting on them feels so incredibly satisfying
It is so tough to replicate those techniques with you 2 only. I think it would have been easier if you had a 3rd guy passing the ball to you so that camilo can hit with good approach may be?
great takes! but it seems like a lot of the difficulty for the timing comes from camillo having to pass then go into his run, maybe you need a third person to feed to the setter so camillo can focus just on the timing of the jump?
The first clip was a first tempo maybe, because for the minus tempo the spiker should be in the air jumping even before thw setter gets hands on the ball
Okay so I plays Men's Honorary's, and there is only 5 teams in the comp so we know each other well and fill in if the other team is missing a player or two. Last Thursday I filled in for the Nuggets, and the Outside and Setter performed a First Tempo Kageyama Slide, he BOUNCED it off the other setter's head and it hit the roof. I wish someone filmed it. Insane plays like that happen all the time here which makes it so much fun, especially for someone new like me.
you guys actually have it all wrong as the shots that u guys are executing are in first tempo but the shots executed in haikyuu are in minus tempo so the spiker hs to be floating when u are setting but here you are setting it before the spike even jumps
Tell me a single time minus tempo has actually been used in a professional match. I'll save you the research, never. Minus tempo is not a thing, it's all theory, it's borderline impossible in any scenario. That's why it was so amazing in the anime, because 'minus tempo' is so hard to actually pull off ONCE no one has ever done it before. It's like doing a double backflip to score a goal in soccer, not exactly impossible but it's so hard and useless there's no point in doing it. Their first tempo is the closest thing, we have to be rational and understand that some things are better off staying inside of fiction. He got Kageyama's setting right, minus tempo is 100% up to the spiker and thus irrelevant to this video.
in my opinion I think its opposite and what I mean by this is that usually in volleyball the spiker would have timed themselves of when to run and spike the ball and all the setter has to do is to just set it for them. So what I mean by opposite is that Kageyama timed the set and all Hinata had to do was to jump, so Kageyama just pin-pointed it to Hinata's hand so that he could spike it.
I honestly played volleyball because if an anime but I kinda stop because of my team mates let’s just they were not the kindest people but I started to play again ❤
I wish a have knees like you guys. Mid 30's and my knees hava already gave up on me. As a kid i played lot of sports. Elementary i played baseball, Highschool tabletennis and basketball. College, i play a little badminton and volleyball. Then kinda lost it when i started working. I'm a bit sad that i can't play like i used to. I can only play table tennis now just to break some sweat. Can only shoot jumpshots on basketball, can't jump high anymore, can't do laterals or any explosive moves. It's just sad.
Coach, i play beach volleyball, and my shoulders always get sore at the end of the practice and during the next day, what can i do to remedy that? i alredy do all the shoulder warm up, there is an exercise or maybe another thing that i could do for that to get better? Love your videos btw :D
A third person would be better for the freak quick so the spiker can focus solely on running and getting a good jump. The reason it works in the anime is because hinata has a high vertical and small size allowing him to spend more time in the air.
How realistic can this set be? I have never seen anyone do this the same way the show does, in which the spiker is already in the air even before the setter has touched the ball. It takes for the hitter to swing without even thinking or seeing the ball and 100% the setter control to be able to put the ball in the proper place. I guess they came pretty close though. There is a lot of muscle memory that has to be denied to do this properly, because they default to set/hit in the way they always do so it is hard to break that habbit and that connection. It is when you see these guys try so hard that you realize that what Kageyama does in the anime is CRAZY GOOD, to be that quick and precise every time, jeez.
I mean to do the minus tempo set, I think you’d need a 3rd player 100%. It’s just not possible for the same player to receive and be in the air already before the set.
Don’t know if the first one was 1st tempo, but it definitely wasn’t - tempo. The jump happened just a tiny bit before the pass. But I guess it’s too hard to jump long enough/pass fast enough for it to work
i dont know if the comments are still being checked but when setting backwards u still have ur right foot slightly forward, this is why u were setting too tight to the net
Вы должны прыгать одновременно, тогда получится(мы с другом такое проворачивали) вся суть в том что чем синхронней вы это сделаете тем лучше получится(вы прыгаете выше и поэтому компенсируется недостаток высоты и скорости)

Please, please revisit the freak quick. This is like 2/2 failed attempts already, but I think all of us would love it you actually executed it correctly. Even in the side by side of 3:10, you can see Camillo's still on the ground after you set vs Hinata who is already in the air. A few of your sets look on pace, but Camillo was just not approaching fast enough.
@@velroi This is simply not true. There are videos of people who properly execute the minus tempo, albeit at a much shorter distance to make it easier. You may not be able to get the "set through the hitter's swing" aspect of the minus tempo, but you can at the very least get the "hitter has done their approach and are in the air before the set" part. If you get neither of those, it's just a fast first tempo.
do you think you could pull it off with Yuji Nishida? since his jump is fast but he hangs. do you think that gives you enough time to set the perfect position?
