It's pretty difficult to watch these clips without any context, watch the show from the beginning and you will definitely appreciate it more. Worth the watch on your down-time....
In spite of people hassling you about looking like a character from the show.

    • @PartTimeEuphoRia

Yeah I also thought that these clips were picked rather randomly if you don't include the whole context

EXACTLY! For example tsukishima's block against ushiwaka, if you take that clip and watch it alone (and didn't understand the context by first watching the rest of the anime), yes you might feel excited for that amazing block, but you wouldn't rly get the feelings behind it and why it was just such a great moment, something much more than just a good block.
The reason why these are highlights is because it's a culmination of emotions of what the audience has felt throughout up till that moment. It's something important to that character, not just a flashy move or impressive gameplay.
Hinata's otherwise normal recieve. Him sending the ball in a high arc and slowing down the game.
His and Kageyama's first minus tempo set. Then that but with his eyes open.
      Other things too.
When sawamura couldn't move. Sure, if you take it out of context 'dude just move your feet' would make sense. But with watching the whole match, it does seem slightly... disrespectful, almost, too say that (no hate tho).
Im sry this comment was so long, absolutely zero hate, just wanted to voice my thoughts on this (it would be great if you did watch the whole anime though).

You should absolutely watch Haikyuu. One does not simply just watch Haikyuu, and not want to play Volleyball. The storytelling, and animation is wonderful. It reflects EVERYONE’S unique story, and captivates their experiences surrounding Volleyball. This creates a sense of relatability to its fans, and adds another layer of depth to the anime. The morals and ethics of the series is simply eye opening, and can be applied to life inside and outside VB.

Haikyuu is an anime where you dont even have to be an anime fan, nor do you have to play volleyball, to enjoy it as a fan. To me, its a gateway classic to the Sports Anime genre.
Haikyuu gives somw of the BEST backstories for some of the most random ass xharacters, that you wouldnt even expect to get one.
The music is top tier, and so is rhe Sound effects as well, and just the overall chemistry every, single, god, damn, character, has. Is beautifully written, and meshws very well together!
Im a new subscriber for sure, i would love to see you fully react to Hikayuu!! and witness what a joy it is, and how it never fails in taking massive Ws writing wise

Seeing these without the context and buildup that went into making these moments meaningful in the first place is insane bruh 😭
But for context, the one where the guy wasn't able to mofe to pass the ball was because they were towards the end of an INSANELY long game with fatigue at its highest, and that fatigue was a major aspect of the game in fact. His legs wouldn't move because he was dead tired and fighting against it, that's why.
But again. Haikyuu's strength is absolutely in the power of story arcs, in paying off amazing buildups. So, all the amazing moments in the show just aren't going to mean much without knowing all the work and character that went into making those moments happen.
The plays look epic on their own, but without that context, it's lost on you, and you can really tell. It's definitely worth seeing, since it's a story that really pays off in amazing, emotional ways, but if you're going to watch it, it's worth going all in and seeing the actual episodes.

  • @averyslowraptor
    @averyslowraptor 4 месяца назад +51

i'm a very realistic person and i also love haikyuu to bits which is why i can confirm a lot of haikyuu's best moments mean so little when you don't have the context. While some scenes have great animations and you can watch certain matches' final rallies chopped to only see the action it will never feel the same as having seen the whole thing and GETTING it. Haikyuu's story telling is masterclass and only goes from good to amazing with each season. definitely watch the whole thing

    The context for number 8:

My name is Hinata Shoyo from The Karasuno Concrete Parking Lot, and I will beat you and go to nationals. The #3 ace is on a powerhouse team that sits there and wins Seijoh (blue school) every year.

Watch it. Most of the actual volleyball players that I've seen who watched Haikyuu said they really liked it because of how realistic it was in terms portraying not just the game but also the emotional aspect that the players go through. That makes the show relatable for the players, and then for those who know little to nothing about volleyball, it gives a fun and entertaining introduction to the game, making them love the show and the sport. Really hoping you'll give it a try.

There are 4 seasons, 1 movie (in place of a s5) and another finale movie coming out (hopefully) soon. Please dont call them 'plot holes'; the beauty of things coming full circle in this series is quite top-tier, breaks my heart if you put it like that😭
That being said, please do give this a shot. Y'know how an athlete's fanbase becomes more vibrant and enthused when they learn tidbits about their personal life? This is quite the same. This fanbase for Haikyuu grew with its characters. I do hope you get to experience the same thrilling feeling of connecting to all the players and their struggles to reach that 3- or 5-set match.

    About point 7:
They erase the net around the faces to not tale away from facial expressions of characters on the other sode of the net
    Its kinda a grey area
For realism it'd be best to keep the net in Front of of their faces but it could also just look whacky
This is a fairly okay middle ground

I really wish you give it a chance --- outside of the plays, its how the show can make volleyball relatable to normies to the point they can love volleyball too is what makes this anime so wonderful

the clips make more sense with the context of the show, they def weren’t ranked by coolness factor or like a highlight reel. i think if pme watched the entire show and came back to rewatch the same vid that would be so cool, he would def have some diff opinions

no one will understand why number 1 the block was placed at number 1. The character that blocked is a unique character and that moment is special. If you've watched the anime you'll understand what I mean. Right Anime Watchers

These clips definitely require some context for why they're the best, but the number one clip definitely requires a lot. Glasses guy essentially never really showed that he wanted to play volleyball or that he really liked it, he just kinda did it, and was good at it, in fact, his whole thing was that it was just a club, and that's why he never took it seriously. (There's some back story with his older brother and his experience with volleyball, but I don't wanna fully spoil.) Why the block was so important was because in their prefecture, aka their district, the spiker in that clip hadn't been stuffed like that in their prefecture tournament in his 3 years of playing in high school, so glasses guy was the first in their prefecture to ever stuff block him. Also, throughout the whole game, glasses guy was getting a soft block on nearly every play he was in, which is why he mentioned something about annoyance, cause that was his goal, to just be annoying, and also why the setter wondered if he had been planning it the whole game. Being just annoying enough by getting a hand on every spike, to then finally fully push in a stuff him a critical moment. Glasses guy is a real cerebral player, very intelligent player.

Purple teams ace in the top spot clip is left handed which is why he’s hard to recieve and block, he’s also one of the top 3 spikers in Japan in the show
