It's pretty difficult to watch these clips without any context, watch the show from the beginning and you will definitely appreciate it more. Worth the watch on your down-time.... In spite of people hassling you about looking like a character from the show.
EXACTLY! For example tsukishima's block against ushiwaka, if you take that clip and watch it alone (and didn't understand the context by first watching the rest of the anime), yes you might feel excited for that amazing block, but you wouldn't rly get the feelings behind it and why it was just such a great moment, something much more than just a good block. The reason why these are highlights is because it's a culmination of emotions of what the audience has felt throughout up till that moment. It's something important to that character, not just a flashy move or impressive gameplay. Hinata's otherwise normal recieve. Him sending the ball in a high arc and slowing down the game. His and Kageyama's first minus tempo set. Then that but with his eyes open. Other things too. When sawamura couldn't move. Sure, if you take it out of context 'dude just move your feet' would make sense. But with watching the whole match, it does seem slightly... disrespectful, almost, too say that (no hate tho). Im sry this comment was so long, absolutely zero hate, just wanted to voice my thoughts on this (it would be great if you did watch the whole anime though).
Tbh haikyuu has actually kinda inspired me to get into volleyball, it also kinda actually helps me in so many stuff, like blocking and yk etc (am to lazy to say the rest) Edit: I like how everyone is agreeing and not fighting, very calm
You should absolutely watch Haikyuu. One does not simply just watch Haikyuu, and not want to play Volleyball. The storytelling, and animation is wonderful. It reflects EVERYONE’S unique story, and captivates their experiences surrounding Volleyball. This creates a sense of relatability to its fans, and adds another layer of depth to the anime. The morals and ethics of the series is simply eye opening, and can be applied to life inside and outside VB.
You need to watch the: •Nishinoya foot save •Kageyama setter dump •Kenma setter dump Also the old man is the person who taught hinata shoyo about tempo in s2 ep6
Definitely watch the full show if you can. I will say that I was a bit skeptical for the first couple episodes, but it only gets better as the show goes on. All of the characters are very well done, super likeable, and have great character development. There's a reason that everyone (including myself) wants to start playing volleyball after they watch this show, I promise it's peak.
Haikyuu is an anime where you dont even have to be an anime fan, nor do you have to play volleyball, to enjoy it as a fan. To me, its a gateway classic to the Sports Anime genre. Haikyuu gives somw of the BEST backstories for some of the most random ass xharacters, that you wouldnt even expect to get one. The music is top tier, and so is rhe Sound effects as well, and just the overall chemistry every, single, god, damn, character, has. Is beautifully written, and meshws very well together! Im a new subscriber for sure, i would love to see you fully react to Hikayuu!! and witness what a joy it is, and how it never fails in taking massive Ws writing wise
Seeing these without the context and buildup that went into making these moments meaningful in the first place is insane bruh 😭 But for context, the one where the guy wasn't able to mofe to pass the ball was because they were towards the end of an INSANELY long game with fatigue at its highest, and that fatigue was a major aspect of the game in fact. His legs wouldn't move because he was dead tired and fighting against it, that's why. But again. Haikyuu's strength is absolutely in the power of story arcs, in paying off amazing buildups. So, all the amazing moments in the show just aren't going to mean much without knowing all the work and character that went into making those moments happen. The plays look epic on their own, but without that context, it's lost on you, and you can really tell. It's definitely worth seeing, since it's a story that really pays off in amazing, emotional ways, but if you're going to watch it, it's worth going all in and seeing the actual episodes.
i'm a very realistic person and i also love haikyuu to bits which is why i can confirm a lot of haikyuu's best moments mean so little when you don't have the context. While some scenes have great animations and you can watch certain matches' final rallies chopped to only see the action it will never feel the same as having seen the whole thing and GETTING it. Haikyuu's story telling is masterclass and only goes from good to amazing with each season. definitely watch the whole thing
It’s worth watching. You watch the progression of the team as they get stronger and stronger in their volleyball skills and as a team. So many relatable moments.
The show is SO GOOD I've rewatched it more times than I should have and Its so hype every time. The show got me into Volleyball a few years ago and now I'm already on a college team. It really get you motivated to work really hard yourself by the way or at least that's what effect it had on me.
As a person who played volleyball before watching Haikyuu, I can say seeing volleyball be animated and put into a story line was amazing and enforces my experiences that I had growing up playing club volleyball, must watch anime for every vb player
FINALLY! This series has inspired me to learn more about volleyball. When I go to college, I plan to play in the volleyball club. I plan to play volleyball every chance I get, to get better, and have fun.
Hell yeah, been wanting to see this for a while. The context for number 8: The player that Shoyo stole the ball from is the #3 ace in the country. He called the school that the jump server for #9 barren soil. So hinata asks "Whats our school? A Concrete parking lot? My name is Hinata Shoyo from The Karasuno Concrete Parking Lot, and I will beat you and go to nationals. The #3 ace is on a powerhouse team that sits there and wins Seijoh (blue school) every year.
You should totally watch haikyuu from the beginning, all of the clips will have context and it’s honestly such an cool anime to watch from start to finish
I'm excited to watch your reactions :) I always love to hear what volleyball players and coaches have to say about the characters on the show and also the dynamics between them
Haikyuu doesn't fully make sense unless you actually watch it lol, but it the one reason I've actually started practicing Volleyball Edit one: 10:17 They're the Miya twins Edit two: 18:50 That clips in season 4
IT IS SO GOOD!! I have convinced so many people to watch it and it has really fueled them to start their own volleyball journeys! It was part of the reason I started playing as well (erik shoji be watching too so you know its good!) SO TRUST EVERYONE AND SEE ITS BEAUTY FOR YOURSELF!

I bet you would tear up in hype after around 5 episodes of Haikyuu!! Nishida and Ishikawa love this show too so HOW CAN YOU NOT?
I started playing volleyball in 1992, and became a setter for my college club team. I am a huge anime fan and was also reluctant to watch this show at first as well, as I thought it would be too cartoonishly unreal. It was actually very good. The mechanics are fairly spot on. I wish they would have gotten into more depth on the nuts and bolts of the sport.
haikyuu was the reason i started learning how to play volleyball and i admit that if i never watched this show i wouldnt even give volleybally sport a second thought thank youuu
That first moment is hype as fvck and deserves the first place. But only if you watch the show from the starting and see the character development. Its not so much about the insane plays but the bond you build with the character while watching this anime. It feels like they are your own friends playing the match lol, the mangaka really knows his stuff
You should definitely watch the entirety of the series! I would be interested to see another volleyball player's perspective watching my favorite show.
Idk if these clips are going to hit that hard without context. There are definitely some other scenes that would be much cooler even without context. Either way, I do think Haikyuu is worth a watch/read. One of the few pieces of media that I do think is a masterpiece. The writing and storytelling is phenomenal.
so mad that none of the setter dumps made it into that top 10 compilation 😔 wouldve been cool for him to see those as a setter himself lmao i loved kageyama’s setter dumps, always thought they were badass lol
Man...I just loved your reaction. How quick you pick up on little things and your commentary. It's amazing. I hope you'll love the series. I'll try to keep up
I totally recommend you to watch Haikyuu!! from the beginning because it may be very representative in many character's aspects. Moreover, if you watch Haikyuu!! since the first season you will be able to empathize more with the characters so you will enjoy it more

I can not believe you volleyball players actually don't appreciate your libero at all, that's insane. Cause what I learn about volleyball from Haikyuu!! is that LIBERO IS THE TEAM GUARDIAN. "You guys just keep looking straight ahead. I'll guard your backs with my life if I have to!" from Nishinoya Yu. All the coolest shit play as libero and they inspire so much. SO NOW GO THANKS YOUR LIBERO RIGHTNOW!!!
18:00 2,500 likes is too low for this fandom. That was surpassed just a day after 🤘🏻🧡 You're one of the few people left I always see in my social media timeline thats volleyball related that I wish should watch this series, and I so glad you're finally considering it 🧡🧡🧡🧡
Please please PLEASE watch this show and do more reactions to it. Its an amazing show and by far my favorite sports anime - and some of these scenes make much more sense with context, so again. PLEASE. React to this more
I told myself I was never going to watch any anime, and then I lost any and all confidence and almost all of my will to play volleyball because of a coach from a club team, and I saw a video about Haikyuu, and decided to start it, and idk how or why but I was immediately inspired because I can relate to Hinata on so many ways mentally. I think it would be really cool if you watched it from the beginning, you could actually understand it then, 😂
For the last question: the clip is from a match in the 4 season. and the brothers are twins ✨but honestly most of the clips are difficult to understand without context.😅 but In the end the story is about volleyball, and all its different aspects we just primarily follow Hinatas journey.
Heck yeah! Would love to see a reaction to Haikyu from another person who plays volleyball! There’s a whole other level of appreciation you have for Haikyu when you’ve actually played volleyball. There’s no doubt you’ll love it!
YES SIR! PLEASE JOIN THE HAIKYUU COMMUNITY!!! I've watched this show over a dozen times, and I'm still in love. Every time I get CRAZY goosebumps and I cry for this show, and recently, I was reviewing the haikyuu comic. They have no superpowers, just passion and hard work! Shout out to the mangaka, Mr. Haruichi Furudate and Mr. Hayashi Yushu, who is responsible for the animation soundtrack.
Haikyuu is definitely worth a watch, its the perfect deep dive into all of the different mindsets when it comes to high school athletes and its a journey of understanding that there are always ways to thrive in a sport, even if youre starting with a quote on quote "disadvantage", such as being short in Hinata's case, through hard work and determination.
Watch it. Most of the actual volleyball players that I've seen who watched Haikyuu said they really liked it because of how realistic it was in terms portraying not just the game but also the emotional aspect that the players go through. That makes the show relatable for the players, and then for those who know little to nothing about volleyball, it gives a fun and entertaining introduction to the game, making them love the show and the sport. Really hoping you'll give it a try.
Also just so you know, the first half of the very first season is a lot of introducing the characters and everyone getting to know each other. There are 4 seasons, 1 movie (in place of a s5) and another finale movie coming out (hopefully) soon. Just wanted to let you know that the first half of s1 is a little slower - and s1 all around is a bit depressing. But you'll find that out on your own if you watch the show!!
I'm so sorry- But if you're missing something because you havent watched the whole thing, you call that 'missing context'. Please dont call them 'plot holes'; the beauty of things coming full circle in this series is quite top-tier, breaks my heart if you put it like that😭 That being said, please do give this a shot. Y'know how an athlete's fanbase becomes more vibrant and enthused when they learn tidbits about their personal life? This is quite the same. This fanbase for Haikyuu grew with its characters. I do hope you get to experience the same thrilling feeling of connecting to all the players and their struggles to reach that 3- or 5-set match. New subscriber, much love!
I would say you should definitely watch the whole show. Its fun, exciting, and also gives a lot of comfort and laughing, just as much as hard times when you cheer for absolutely all teams. The decision is up to you,but if you choose to watch it, you're not gonna be wrong, trust us
On a haikyuu binge and happened to see your vid About point 7: They erase the net around the faces to not tale away from facial expressions of characters on the other sode of the net Its kinda a grey area For realism it'd be best to keep the net in Front of of their faces but it could also just look whacky This is a fairly okay middle ground
I really wish you give it a chance --- outside of the plays, its how the show can make volleyball relatable to normies to the point they can love volleyball too is what makes this anime so wonderful
the clips make more sense with the context of the show, they def weren’t ranked by coolness factor or like a highlight reel. i think if pme watched the entire show and came back to rewatch the same vid that would be so cool, he would def have some diff opinions
no one will understand why number 1 the block was placed at number 1. The character that blocked is a unique character and that moment is special. If you've watched the anime you'll understand what I mean. Right Anime Watchers
Ok these moments are very good but I'd say there are some way better moments. You'll just have to watch and see 😂 I'm actually so excited this will be my first time seeing a setter react to Haikyuu! ;D
To me, to get the FULL feeling of the intensity of Haikyuu!!, you GOTTA watch the anime starting by season one..! TRUST ME YOU GET CHILLS YES PLEASE WATCH HAIKYUU 🙏
These clips definitely require some context for why they're the best, but the number one clip definitely requires a lot. Glasses guy essentially never really showed that he wanted to play volleyball or that he really liked it, he just kinda did it, and was good at it, in fact, his whole thing was that it was just a club, and that's why he never took it seriously. (There's some back story with his older brother and his experience with volleyball, but I don't wanna fully spoil.) Why the block was so important was because in their prefecture, aka their district, the spiker in that clip hadn't been stuffed like that in their prefecture tournament in his 3 years of playing in high school, so glasses guy was the first in their prefecture to ever stuff block him. Also, throughout the whole game, glasses guy was getting a soft block on nearly every play he was in, which is why he mentioned something about annoyance, cause that was his goal, to just be annoying, and also why the setter wondered if he had been planning it the whole game. Being just annoying enough by getting a hand on every spike, to then finally fully push in a stuff him a critical moment. Glasses guy is a real cerebral player, very intelligent player.
I also didn't want to watch that show, but the first episode reminded me of when I started playing and how much the lack of clubs and pepper partner affects. . . It helps to get motivation tho
Purple teams ace in the top spot clip is left handed which is why he’s hard to recieve and block, he’s also one of the top 3 spikers in Japan in the show
Haikyuu is the reason i wanted to play volleyball, even though i never joined when i started since i had other things to do. Now that im in high-school, i want to start volleyball because of haikyuu! (yamaguchi inspired me the most tbh)
It's pretty difficult to watch these clips without any context, watch the show from the beginning and you will definitely appreciate it more. Worth the watch on your down-time....
In spite of people hassling you about looking like a character from the show.
Yeah I also thought that these clips were picked rather randomly if you don't include the whole context
same, just like see “mojo top 10” without knowing what happens in this show.
same here, I have rewatched haikyuu several times already and never gets bored

What about “talent is something you make bloom, instinct is something you polish” 😭

But if you're missing something because you havent watched the whole thing, you call that 'missing context'.
Please dont call them 'plot holes'; the beauty of things coming full circle in this series is quite top-tier, breaks my heart if you put it like that😭
That being said, please do give this a shot.
Haikyuu deserves it’s popularity one hundred times over🤧‼️
your reactions were so funny to me 😂
I would say you should definitely watch the whole show. Its fun, exciting, and also gives a lot of comfort and laughing, just as much as hard times when you cheer for absolutely all teams. The decision is up to you,but if you choose to watch it, you're not gonna be wrong, trust us
Yes! I watched it and now i play in an indoor and beach league. I love the sport so fun. Watch it from ep 1.
On a haikyuu binge and happened to see your vid
About point 7:
They erase the net around the faces to not tale away from facial expressions of characters on the other sode of the net
Its kinda a grey area
For realism it'd be best to keep the net in Front of of their faces but it could also just look whacky
This is a fairly okay middle ground
I really wish you give it a chance --- outside of the plays, its how the show can make volleyball relatable to normies to the point they can love volleyball too is what makes this anime so wonderful
I've seen haikyuu like 3 times. I NEED you to watch it at least once ‼️
The old guy was there because of ✨flashback✨
Each clip is so much better if you know the context behind it 👌 highly encourage watching haikyuu 🤩
#5-yellow and gray hair are twins. love them
He just said... Hoshiumi-san is a 12 year old.... I cannot unsee, unhear nor believe🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 all this clips totally need context
the clips make more sense with the context of the show, they def weren’t ranked by coolness factor or like a highlight reel. i think if pme watched the entire show and came back to rewatch the same vid that would be so cool, he would def have some diff opinions
I never thought I would live long enough to see pme watch haikyuu
no one will understand why number 1 the block was placed at number 1. The character that blocked is a unique character and that moment is special. If you've watched the anime you'll understand what I mean. Right Anime Watchers
Ok these moments are very good but I'd say there are some way better moments. You'll just have to watch and see 😂
I'm actually so excited this will be my first time seeing a setter react to Haikyuu! ;D
YES PLEASE I LIVE LAUGH LOVE HAIKYUU
YOU WERE ON MY FYP THAT'S FULL OF ANIME! like totally, you look like the little giant to me, but irl version
To me, to get the FULL feeling of the intensity of Haikyuu!!, you GOTTA watch the anime starting by season one..! TRUST ME YOU GET CHILLS
YES PLEASE WATCH HAIKYUU 🙏
Welp it’s gotten to 9k so ISTGGGG u better be reacting to this show it is so GOOODDDDD🥳🥳🥳
14:26 “Making his shawtie cry” That’s his sister😭😭
brotha got those 2500 likes in less then a day
Just watch the whole show. Im gonna rewatch rn
I also didn't want to watch that show, but the first episode reminded me of when I started playing and how much the lack of clubs and pepper partner affects. . . It helps to get motivation tho
Purple teams ace in the top spot clip is left handed which is why he’s hard to recieve and block, he’s also one of the top 3 spikers in Japan in the show
I LOVEE YOUR REACTIONS TO HAIKYUU LOLL
Frrrrr I laughed so hard 😂😂
you definitely have to watch all of it, its amazing, also this was not a great compilation but it still had some good moments
Haikyuu is the reason i wanted to play volleyball, even though i never joined when i started since i had other things to do. Now that im in high-school, i want to start volleyball because of haikyuu! (yamaguchi inspired me the most tbh)
2:08 watch the show then 😭
The mic peak when the ball hit the net was amazing
