I saw Lizzy at the Glasgow Apollo just a few months after the Live and Dangerous album came out. I know the album was cleaned up a lot in the studio but believe me what you hear on that album is pretty much what they delivered live. A band caught at its peak. One of my all time gigs. Never forgotten it even after 30+ years!
i worked at a kroger store,i was just 18,i bought the tape a few days later.the whole album is good, with southbound my favorite.i loaned it to a friend who never heard the group he dident want to return the tape.loved it to,i got 3 speeding tickets while listing to this album, one time i was going 111mph in a 35 with 11 cops chaseing me.i was fined 60.00 for my ticket, and the cop removed 3 stop signs for me.what a time 1978 or 79.
WHAT A BAND !!!! So awesome. Definately one of the greatest Hard Rock Bands ever !!!!! "LIVE AND DANGEROUS" is a "must have" album for every Rock music fan.
You are so right! My 15-year-old's band plays this. Not any of that shit like Fallout Boy or Stinkin' Park. This Lizzy was a killer band like Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, The Who, Aerosmith and others.
DAM these guys were the best , and the life of rock and roll took one of the greatest hard rock figures from us.there will never be a band like this ,ahead of there time, the fathers of Heavy Metal
Long live Lizzy / Gallagher and all The Irish Warriors who inspired everyone regardless of the lame Magazines and critics (not rockers and fans) who tried to pull the carpet from down under those legends ...... Fan from Saudi Arabia ..
Had Live n Dangerous LP in the ammo stock since the 70's but first time I've seen the video of the concert. Awesome performance by the band. Many "hot summer nights" spent listening to the album. My version has a police intro to it and I hear that is not the norm?
@clwilu94 glad to hear someone say that brian a great drummer,i used to play in a small band and brian and the drummer out of taste, were my idols, years later john used to play my local every sunday with a band,i recall eric bell came and played one afternoon that was a good day,as this was only a working mens club, having john wilson and eric on the same stage in a small hall was great
It's all a matter of opinion. I liked the _Thunder and Lightning_ album and line up a lot. Phil recruited John Sykes because he wanted to tap in to the heavy metal scene. Brilliant move - JS gave Lizzy fresh energy, so badly needed after _Renegade._
@eewoood Me to. Once got so carried away by just how utterly awesome this song is on the bus, I forgot where I was. Did I care? No! Lizzy will always be my number 1 band.
Esto es tu temazo joder, creo k suelen empezar los directos con ella. Yo tuve la suerte y les vi en el 2008 y con ella empezaron, eso sí, tocada bastante más rápida
If only Robbo didn't get kicked out of Lizzy for that bar fight that ended their major US tour, then Lizzy could have eventually gone onto AC/DC, Led Zeppellin level fame. They were all set to conquer the world with this line up, but fate would not be kind to them with bad luck at vital moments. Robbo joined the band at 18 years of age. Whereas Phil and Downy were already seasoned rockers by then. So Robbo lacked the maturity required at the time, for the band to take over long term
2:24 it's heavy rock but any blues master listening to that would acknowledge that as a moment of greatness..just several simple notes...just as worthy of attention as his solo in 'still in love with you' and 'don't believe a word' and also emerald...they were short and amazing...gary was great but he never had that magic robbo had
Hello Ekiebeek, in Holland you can buy it in the shop: Virgin Plaza, Free Record Shop and so on. Don't know where your from, but if you can buy it in Holland then - I think - you can buy it everywhere.
yes and vinyls are more durable than cd´s whole package, music and sleeves, you hear a band as they play on live not emphasize descant or spoil analog sound with digital techincs.
I often see parts of the great Live and Dangerous concert but don´t know how to get my hands on a dvd with this legendary concert. Does anyone has a tip for me?
36 years ago today the world of live albums changed forever when Live and Dangerous was released.
It's been a lot of years and I STILL miss these guys.
The vibe in this song is just so immense. It's relatively simple from a technical perspective, but cooler than an arctic winter.
My favourite Thin Lizzy line up. Its a shame Robertson had to get in a bar fight on tour, and get himself kicked out of the band. Great sound
I feel very sorry for those people that only know boys are back in town when such an insane banger exists.

Was there too.
AWESOME.
Thin Lizzy will always stand as one of my favorites.

Man this song cooks. I think the Lynott / Robertson / Gorham combo has got to be one of the best pairings of all time.
Just one of the best songs ever! In less than 3 minutes, Thin Lizzy say more than many bands say in their whole careers. Just awesome.
The greatest rock band ever. You can see they've spent a lot of time together on the road. You only get this good by continiously gigging.
Brian Downey on drums is epic
GREAT DRUMMER.
One of the best live bands EVER! I saw them live and was taken to another plane of existence, they were awesome!!!!!!
Lucky enough to see Lizzy three times at the Manchester Apollo, brilliant every time.

WHAT A BAND !!!! So awesome. Definately one of the greatest Hard Rock Bands ever !!!!! "LIVE AND DANGEROUS" is a "must have" album for every Rock music fan.
They were pure rock. At 01:00, Brian and Scott look like they were in fire in an amazing duo attitude !!!
My all time favourite band. Pure class. Everything rock should be.

You are so right! My 15-year-old's band plays this. Not any of that shit like Fallout Boy or Stinkin' Park. This Lizzy was a killer band like Led Zeppelin, Cheap Trick, The Who, Aerosmith and others.
dig Robbo's saturday night fever kicks..

This puts a smile on my face. Love the diamond at 1:22.
Saw them in Galway Ireland - wow best ever
Long live Lizzy / Gallagher and all The Irish Warriors who inspired everyone regardless of the lame Magazines and critics (not rockers and fans) who tried to pull the carpet from down under those legends ...... Fan from Saudi Arabia ..
The greatest band ever !!!
Phillip Parris Lynott
Got that album 1979 were it out ,blew my speakers out.
Had Live n Dangerous LP in the ammo stock since the 70's but first time I've seen the video of the concert. Awesome performance by the band. Many "hot summer nights" spent listening to the album. My version has a police intro to it and I hear that is not the norm?

Imagine my surprise that all these comments were years ago. Long live Thin Lizzy. Induct them now....
i like this band
this was the rock and roll that was about
LIZZY! LIZZY! LIZZY! LIZZY!
I saw them 83 Hitchin with Sykes, and Sykes 89 Toronto wit Blue Murder, what a sick guitar sound
Saw Lizzy in 80 at Preston, but this is the best line up,without a doubt
I like the end line up, Gorham and Sykes, in 1983 from the Live album, its harder than the other line ups.
It's all a matter of opinion. I liked the _Thunder and Lightning_ album and line up a lot. Phil recruited John Sykes because he wanted to tap in to the heavy metal scene. Brilliant move - JS gave Lizzy fresh energy, so badly needed after _Renegade._
so 70's love it, rockers with tight pants and white platform shoes. only in the 70's.
Sounds better the way they play it live... just a bit faster really give it a little extra umph!
Eveytime i put this on my head instantly starts moshing its like a habbit
just saw this whole gig on sky arts. awesome shizzle
awesome...
@eewoood Me to. Once got so carried away by just how utterly awesome this song is on the bus, I forgot where I was. Did I care? No! Lizzy will always be my number 1 band.
TRUE!

Rock on, in our Souls!
♥♥

💖👍👍👍🤘
I thought this was a Rollins Band Original for so long. Should have know Thin Lizzy were responsible... Love both versions.
Hello Ekiebeek, in Holland you can buy it in the shop: Virgin Plaza, Free Record Shop and so on. Don't know where your from, but if you can buy it in Holland then - I think - you can buy it everywhere.
I love Thin Lizzy and I see that alot of bands(Iron Maiden)made out with the sound. Steve Harris did it justice though.
Thin Lizzy's twin guitar sound inspired Iron Maiden.
ooohhhhhh mama!
@Zepplica911 and don't forget they unite the hard rock family despite race, religion ,country and colour..cheers fan from israel
8 people are not ready for rock n roll!
Camera man went for a great angle for the Robertson solo.
R.I.P
I don't think it was on a studio album, but I could be wrong. I've yet to find it and I'm a Thin Lizzy fan.
@chickenbooona very true for the most part...but not in cleveland, ohio...kid leo played the hell outta thin lizzy from @ 73 thru the early 80's
@STRATCAT101 The rainbow club which I think was in london
