What a sad fact that Gary Moore's passing received so little attention in the world's press! His fans have compensated for that by their outpouring of love across nations. He was one of the all time great guitarists and his passion, touch, vibrato and great soulful playing remains in all our hearts!!!
I honestly cried the day that Gary died, such an incredibly talented musician who bought so much joy to so many. We will never see the like of him again. RIP ❤
Gary Moore is rightly recognised as a guitar great but Scott Gorham is vastly underrated. So cool and laid back but rhythmically stupendous. Scott is one of those guys who makes guitar playing a really cool thing to do.
Since Gary Moore past away I've educated myself on his history. Definetly underated especially in the States. I've always admired him but I had no idea of the breadth of his talent and influence. I'm a believer.
Never knew they were from Ireland and Dublin at that!! I recently just found out, I thought they were American?!!Would hear the band in the 70’s on the radio in San Antonio Texas, Boys are back in town on KISS station 99.5 (rock and roll station) had an older brother by 7 years and a product of the 70’s lol brings back the good old days still jamm’in to this song This band like so many others of the time were soooo underrated ! Rest In Peace Phil and Gary✌️
I thank heaven for having lived through the 80s and having enjoyed this type of music that came from the 70s. People today have no idea what real music is.
From the unveiling of the statute on the Friday to this wonderful gig on the Saturday a weekend never to be forgotten. Gary and Phil are gone but the music lives on
Greetings from Milwaukee, WI, USA! RIP, Phil and Gary, one of the greatest bands ever! It's the wrong song, but I remember Gary saying this session is the only time he remembered Scott Gorham actually enjoying playing "Black Rose!" I had a good friend who never heard of "Cowboy Song," and I thought, "Huh?!" Of course, I had a "Jailbreak" T-shirt as a kid and between "The Boys..." and the tile track, I don't know which I liked best! Thanks for the memories!
Saw Gary in Portland Oregon in like 1988 or so and there were maybe 125 people there, it was a converted church and didn't have a ton of room. After the show we spotted the tour bus and his manager let us go on the bus and meet him, Bob Daisley and Eric Singer. He could not have been a niocer guy, signed anything we asked to get signed and sat and just chatted for 20 minutes. It was truly a night I will never forget.
Though Scott was always the second guitarplayer to some of you, to me he's the man with the phrasing (listen to dancing in the moonlight his awesome guitarsolo). I love his guitarplaying (Gibson or Fender or whatever..it comes from the soul through the fingers and - I'm telling ya'll- he's got it.) No disrespect to Gary though...
When I saw the Yahoo headline "Thin Lizzy guitarist dies" years ago I thought it was Scott or Brian, I had forgotten that Gary Moore was in Thin Lizzy, I'm a blues rock guy and Gary was about my favorite. I was totally floored.
Gary Moore, Scot Gorham, Brian Robertson , Eric Bell , Snowy White , Steve Sykes....all of them and off course Phil Lynott and Brian Downey ....great, brilliant Thin Lizzy!!!
+Steve Drake Scott Gorham is the one I think is an underrated guitarist. Listen to his band Black Star Riders. Tell me Gorham didn't have a LOT to do with Thin Lizzy's sound.
That's why Phil hired Scott he knew he was the right man for the job and like a lot of people say whatever lead guitarist he backed up they were tight Note for note and he used to run around the stage playing in front of the whole band I saw an interview Phil said I wanted a yank in the band and Scott fit the bill
We who are the fans have never gone away. Their music wil live on. Please pass it on to those whose only exposure has been to the rap shit they unknowingly cling to....maybe a few wil survive to carry real music to the un-initiated and show them who really rocks! I miss you, Phillip, and Gary Both added to a long list of rockers, unfortunate that the current crop of wanna-bees wil never be able to get close to. Guess im just a dinosaur
Yes I agree with all of you, Gary Moore was far greater than any of the guitarist out there. Just listen to his playing, he never misses a note or off key or fumbles his finger missing a note, he is absolutely Mr Perfectionist. I think he was better known in Japan than the states. Definitely way underrated, under recognized.
Wow! Just seeing them play this song perfectly without Phil gives me goosebumps all over & a tear to my eye. What a great tribute & song! May Phil & Gary rest in peace in the halls of Rock "N" Roll Valhalla.
I was lucky enough to meet Gary at a bar I worked in San Antonio. His playing was flawless. The crowd was the most chill I'd ever seen at the club. Didn't have to bounce a single one.
Gary Moore is a true legend - I grew up with him and he influenced my life so much - from his rocking years through his stroll into the blues - Magnificent man, artist and performer - Sadly missed - the good guys are taken early just like Phil was - RIP Gazza
There is nothing better than the sound of a Les Paul and a Stratocaster, played in unison, thanks Gary and Scott, again god bless Gary's wee cotton socks, I still cherish the night I met Gary, down in Nam, Sydenam that is thanks to Helen Latewood ( lovely girl/woman) and Glenn, that of course was before Gary was famous, just a mere astounding local guitar plaer!!!!!
Two professionals playing guitar, a beast on the drums 30+ yrs later since breaking up as a group. I personally feel they do not get their due credit. The originals of Thin Lizzy were true rock originals.
Good grief, I love those guys! Makes me cry I never saw them in concert, being completely addicted at the time. Probably my favorite band. Oh, yeah, played drums for 50 years.
Buy this DVD. Guard it with your life. Listen to it once, and you will understand. Exquisite beyond anything you can imagine. So much talent on one simple DVD. Gary Moore? Scott Gorham? Eric Bell? It's a real gem.
This is superb. Joe and Train have completely respected this brilliant 38 Special song by not messing with the original melody and produced the best cover of this song I’ve ever heard. Fantastic vocal performance from Pat and for me this is some of the best playing I’ve heard from Joe, his touch, tone, and technique is just sublime!
No one can drum like Brian Downey! I’ve seen the best drummers in the world try, but his rolls are so crisp and hi hats so tight, you can’t mistake him. ( I hope it is him)
I like the nice, slow intro. It brought tears to my eyes 😭 I was fortunate to have seen Thin Lizzy in Chicago in 1978. Going to shows in those days was different. Good different 😀

It was literally all over the press. It's a shame you can't be bothered to read.
Very Sad, for one of the greatest rock guitar players ever.
He plays Hendrix in the ground!!!!
Absolutely brother..
One of the best guitarists ever
@@fdfsdfsvsfgsg4888 But nowhere near as much coverage as say Jeff Beck
Is it just me or it would be a great night if Scott and Eric did a gig to honor Gary the same way Gary did this show to honor Phil?
Probably just you mate, seeing that Scott played in this Phil Lynott tribute gig already 👍😆
And Brian Robertson!
I'm 62 yo and i've just started crying watching this.❤
No need to cry, here's a good example to keep the boys alive:ruclips.net/video/wzrimAp3Png/видео.htmlsi=ggD7qSTqn6JQoYAC
Not alone bro. This is awesome. I need to find the whole show.

Played pool on night in the Novatel in Bradford England and a top gent. Drinking Remy topped up with white vine 👍

Also, Robbo & Scott were by far the best and, honestly, Scott is the weakest of the three.
Big fan of Garry, world class guitarist I pass the hotel in Spain often, where he passed I stop by and have a pint in his memory
Gary Moore is rightly recognised as a guitar great but Scott Gorham is vastly underrated. So cool and laid back but rhythmically stupendous.
