Thank you thank you for your explanation of this machine! Finally someone who explains everything!
Thanks I just bought mine.
Thanks, Deanna, I bought this recently - based on your review- and I'm very happy I did...it's changed my whole hooking experience.
It is a whizz thing isn't it. I love using it too!
Nice demonstration video! I've had my Sissex machine for a few months now and I LOVE it!!! I have The #4, #6, small flower petals and the fringe dyes. It is SO fast and easy to use!
FYI: For ordering at Old Tattered Flag, the “trays” are actually called “dies” and that’s how they are listed on the site to purchase.
Sizzex tray and the cut number ypu want xx
I have seen this on Amazon but was not sure how it would work ~ now thanks to you I now know it’s well worth the price!
Great demo! I couldn't figure out how these work--and now I know! :-D
Thank you for the thorough review and demo. I’m sold, especially as it’s much cheaper t Han Beeline cutter I had been looking at
I love the idea of cutting and using 100% wool. What other fabrics would be good for needle punching and rug hooking?
Got one 🎉 can’t wait to try it. Thank you
Thank you
grazie per l'informazione .
So glad you showed us this, I've been toying with buying one but shipping to Ireland is so so expensive but I guess it outweighs the the length of time I'm currently using by cutting by hand. Although due to this ive been hooking with yarn n loving that too. Love all your videos. Thank you
Oh, shoot, this is a draw back. But I agree, capturing time otherwise lost cranking is pretty priceless!
I do believe because I lived in London fir years and then Amsterdam for many years and there was nothing! Lots of great wool yarn in Ireland though for hooking/ punching!
@@RibbonCandyHooking yes great yarn here, I'm a Londoner, Irish decent, lived in Clapham, then Wimbledon before moving back to my mother's home town in Waterford Ireland. Small world!
You can use 3-4 thickness
The trays/die c utters are $125 each plus shipping... anyone know how long they last with weekly use? Surely the blades get dull eventually don't you think?
I have this big shot machine but cant find these die cuts where did you get them
Where I can get one
Does this work for cutting knit fabric like t shirts?
Where do you buy the shapes?
Hello Lady!! Please, could you help me!? I would like to purchase this machine on amazon here in Italy, but there are so many parts that can be purchased separately and I don't understand what part I need for cut the fabric strips like you do.
When you have time can you tell me the site where you buy this with all the kit. Thanks!
Sure... I got this cutter from Old Tattered Flag. They're the only ones who have it and they're in the U.S. Lately they've been out of stock with everything and it's been super frustrating
I'm thinking the cutters aren't official Sizzix cutters, which is why, they are not available from the Sizzix web site or any of their distributors ,. Like Olivia mentioned, shipping to UK would too expensive unfortunately, great idea though
No, youre right. The white part it runs through is Sissex but the old tattered flag is making the trays.
Yes I actually phoned sizzix head off n they know/knew nothing about the cutting Matt's, actually asked me to send link from tattered rug hooking. I haven't heard a word back...I know Julia from tattered rug hooking mentioned she got someone in her town to make them cutting plates. Such a shame we can't get them from sizzix. Shipping was over hundred Euros!
@@oliviapower6503 oh wow, over 100 is an extraordinary amount. I remember all the years I lived in Europe how cheap shipping was! It must be so frustrating to hear those crazy inflated prices!
Yes definitely frustrating... And would you believe, there is not one rug hooking group here in Ireland, South East, I had to get my frame sent from USA, hooks, the Hartman hook is made here in the next county from me but I had to initially get it sent from USA! I'm in touch now with Hartman's so he sends direct. We have actually been working on a punch needle as I couldn't get them here. No place to buy bundles of wool either! So I use yarn n material strips, velvet, ribbon, anything really. Love it all though.
@@oliviapower6503have you looked at ragrugsuk.co.uk? Run by Cilla Cameron, a well known rug maker 😉 she sells small amounts of wool material/yarn/frames/hooks, may be worth a try. Ive got my husband to make a Cheticamp style frame, as again they are too expensive to buy from the USA.
Do you actually hook with such short strips
Yes, often. It's harder to punch with shorter strips, but these a pretty typical
@@RibbonCandyHooking I love being able to cut 20 to 40 #8 strips in less than a minute, sit down and start hooking and not have to fish through them for ones that are even...
