- Join three-time Tony Nominated actor Christopher Fitzgerald as he discusses his Tony-nominated role (Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role Musical) in the hit Broadway show "Waitress," with music and lyrics by Sara Bareilles, and a book by Jessie Nelson. Based on the 2007 film of the same name, written by Adrienne Shelly, the musical tells the story of Jenna Hunterson, a waitress in an unhappy marriage to her husband Earl. When Jenna unexpectedly becomes pregnant she begins an affair with her gynecologist Dr. Jim Pomatter. Looking for ways out, she sees a pie contest and its grand prize as her chance. I just saw Waitress. I love "Never Getting Rid of Me". A guy performed it in our small theatre last summer. I think Christopher just totally stole the show! He and Caitlin (replacement of Dawn) are the absolute BEST!!! I think they took it from Jessie!

Christopher is not only a fantastic performer, but also a wonderfully kind, genuine and down to Earth person. I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Waitress Broadway workshop and was in Christopher’s master class and got to sing for him and I’ll never forget how supportive and complimentary he was to me and others in the group. I told him “You’re my favorite!” And his response was “Aw, you’re MY favorite!”
Why can't all interviews do this she doesn't talk over him she's calm and it adds to the interview.
