Oh my gosh! What a GREAT haul!!! I'm in LOVE with the bowl, AND the vintage paper roller!!! You were the first youtube thrifter that I found! Then you suggested others, and they suggested others - now I watch thrifting videos all the time! I must say though, NO ONE DOES THESE AS WELL AS YOU DO! I love that you are not a reseller, you show prices all the time, and you show how you use items in your lovely home! THANK YOU for being the ABSOLUTE BEST!!!!!! I'll be back for sure!!!
In the early 70's during the winter, there was a natural gas shortage. People would roll their newspapers really tight and use them for logs in their fireplace.
Those pears really did look so real and tasty! I also liked the candleholder at 3:27. You always find such interesting things that teach us all something.
I remember making newspaper logs as a child! Our roller wasn’t quite as fancy though. Julie really love your videos and listening to you talk is so soothing to me. I only wish you had time to make and post more. Enjoy your weekend!
My grandmother got her meat from a little Mom & Pop grocery store because "Pop" was an excellent butcher. I knew what that was immediately because I watched Mr. Dunn roll out paper to wrap my grandmother's purchases. Great find!
Julie lamps are very easy to rewire! So many good things at that GW. When you explained what a phone used to look like I laughed! I was at an antique mall and a child asked her mother what something was and it was an old black rotary phone!!
My grandmother had the same newspaper roller. As a child , we had making the paper logs. The little blue dish is perfect where you put it. Love all your finds. TFS 😊
I loved your thrifted items..all very beautiful..my most favorite tho, was the newspaper roller...like everyone else has stated, it would really look good with fall decor, Christmas decor, 4th of july decor..and of course, paper logs...thanks for sharing..
I laughed when you said ‘in case you didn’t know this is a phone that we used to call people’. When you were talking about the paper log roller I thought our grandkids will be saying why would someone have a lot of paper? We’ll have to explain that the news used to come on paper! LoL
You are whispering to hide your excitement Love the canisterset too I need a basket trashcan now! Inspiered I love my faux pairs too 9 dollar steel for shure!!! Perfect styling. Have a blessed weekend X
Julie, I like the newspaper roller and it looks great on your fireplace. I like how it looks with your fireplace screen and the metal dipper behind it. The colors just pop against that white. I hope yall have a great weekend and we get some rain here in Texas. If you need a different environment, go to Hobby Lobby . Fall is already there and the temperatures are cool ! 😅 Vivian from Texas
Such a cute bowl and I love the jug too. I thought that small butter churn was adorable. I would not have been able to resist that. Once you already have one of something though, it is best to leave extras behind, unless you totally know where you would use it. Good willpower. 😊
YOUR SO FORTUNATE TO FIND THE OLD NEWSPAPER ROLLER! IT IS SO GREAT! I WAS THINKING, PUT IT ON YOUR FIREPLACE, JULIE, THEN YOU MENTIONED PUTTING IT ON YOUR FIREPLACE! LOVE THE BOWL, ALSO
I did a little squeal when you said that you were in Henderson, TX!! My mom grew up there! It's probably been at least 25 years since I was there. My grandpa Thompson passed away in 1978, so I was there for his funeral. Then I took my mom back for a visit in 1998, when she was 73 and I was 43. It's a precious memory for me as she reminisced so much about her younger years.
the good thing is a newspaper log roller. people burned them in their fireplace which is a NO NO today, paper causes extra creosote buildup in your chimney. The bowl is a roseville pottery piece, from Ohio
My favorite piece is the newspaper 🗞️ roller! 😃 I’ve been seeing several of those in antique stores for a few years now and they are never priced as low as yours was. Score!
The newspaper roller was my favorite thing so vintage country and looks great by your fireplace. I liked the pears also when you picked up the bag I was like those look so real!
I love your haul! Sometimes people don’t believe me when I tell them that I find pieces by pieces in different time and place.I wish i find a baby butter churn one day. I really enjoy your thrifting trips , I feel like I am right there in the store thank you for sharing your experience.
Just a thought, I would turn newspaper roller around so handle is against, turning handle. It would show up against curtain and looks and stands out better! Just an idea
I actually really loved the pears best they look so real and were a great price , but the jar set that did not have the price on it with all the lovely jars , wow that was just amazing.
I saw your Grace painting by your fireplace and I just had to share with you my crazy good luck. I've wanted one for such a long time. I live in a town of about 500 souls and my mom had a country restaurant - literally, in the middle of nowhere on highway 54 - for years and years and she had that in the restaurant. When she sold the restaurant she let the painting go with it. I've been looking and looking for one and a couple of weeks ago came across one on FB Marketplace. The ironic thing is it was for sale by my neighbor a block and a half away from me in our tiny town! It was meant to be! Thank you for your videos. I enjoy every single one.
I'd say you had a good haul day! I am surprised that the pitcher lamp didn't come home wth you. I'm glad the girls had some fun! (Barbie)🎀 Thanks for always taking the time to share the haul and style. 😊
Hello Julie. The pears for $1.00, the white and blue plate for 99Cent, the pitcher for $3.99 great fines. I like how everything is display. Blessings.🥰🌺

6:45 I have that bowl, store my tea ball, wet tea bags in it to let them dry out before tossing them in the trash!---I'm glad you picked up the pears, I would have as well!---I hope you folks will try making the newspaper logs later this year! Would be a shame to let it sit idle!
There were so many cool things at that Goodwill today. I’m so glad you got that pitcher. I have been looking for one ever since my husband knocked mine over and broke it.
See a difference to our Australian thrift shops. We have to have all the electrical goods tested and labeled as electrically checked ,signed by a licensed tester and working so most thrift shops no longer carry electrical since licensed testers are few .No label, no sale. I do envy you by the huge amount of goodies you have to chose from .I can remember been given the job of rolling the newspapers as a child ,l also remember it’s not as easy as it looks.
