I am happy to see,younger generations, thrifting.
Sometimes, I get annoyed at thrifters,who buy cheaply or get free and then resell for exuberant prices.
I,do believe in finding treasures,and use in my home;so when,I watch the videos and how the items are displayed or used in someone's home, rather than,just to sell at the highest price.
I love VINTAGE, ANTIQUES, ART NOUVEAU, 20'S, DECORE, and real rare items and jewelry, for my friends and family.
It is nice to see,people, who really appreciate the finer things,use in their homes.
I think,a revival of grandeur living is coming back and young people are appreciating their parents and grandparents and great grandparents belongings.
I am happy to see,a young woman,choose beautiful items for her home.

I think Goodwill Cooperation is partnered with many stores.
So many items are from excessive inventory, in stores like: Pier I, Home Goods,Ikea,World Market,and department stores.
Americans have started holding on to items,rather than just giving away.
Thrift stores,use to be for those, who maybe couldn't afford regular prices, or looking for a bargain.
Now Thrift stores are higher than Walmart, Target and even Tj.Maxx,Marshalls,,etc.
So many stores have merged with bigger Cooperations as well as other countries.
We hardly see anything made in USA.
RESELL STORES,STARTED IN NEW YORK, and have gradually spread all across the USA;eventhough,many other countries had flea markets,before they became popular all over the world.Also,in America, Gypsies, started little stores,selling wares, or peddlers had wagons, with everything, someone needed.
Then the door to door salesman, etc. became popular .
I think ,people everywhere, have gone back to using household items,until they have gone beyond repair,and then repurpose, like using old items for decoration or yard/ garden decore,such as planters and flower pots.
It is exciting, but getting more expensive, to Thrift.
We Americans, have accumulated, as well as wasted a lot.
Mass production, helped to purchase at cheaper prices, so we bought more.
Also other countries, used child labor and unfair or unsafe conditions, to keep cost down.
Items that are easy to move and store,or have multiple uses have become popular.
I do see a lot of younger generations, becoming more interested in saving and investing their money,so they look for bargains.
Still, shopping is fun,whether retail, resell,,yard,estate,auction or Thrift store sales.I think Americans have the save fever yet, not live as misers.
There are so many channels now with thrifters and resellers,and that isn't just those on utube ebay, etsy,etc.not the ones in towns,cities,states, who aren't doing social media.

They've been trucking in new stuff. But the quality is not great. Basically, over priced dollar tree kind of things.

We have 3 Thrift stores in my city and actually each one has its own uniqueness.
I found beautiful throws in all frabrics and style.That plaid one,is almost like one,I bought at a Thrift store.
I love Tartan,so I am always looking for plaids.
Church sales are also,a great place to find wonderful items.

Even the bins pricing has gone up! They’re so greedy!
Copper is very expensive, so that copper teaset was a good deal.
Copper has to be cleaned often.
Goodwill, yard sales,auctions,estate sales,prices have become outrageous.
Items are selling, sometimes higher than the original price.
Due to the increase,in thrifting and reselling, Thrift shops are almost regular stores.
Also, these stores,get merchandise from other stores,not just donations,that people are getting rid of.
Younger generations, have become interested in reselling, so they are learning more about vintage and antiques.
It is almost,extortion, because so many people are thrifters, but resell at exuberant prices.
Wow so many nice things they had… where was this at… also, Mr. Goodwill is crazy with the increased prices!
Some really cool stuff at thY goodwill ...wow! Pricey ...but ..alot of cool stuff ...especially on the same day !

I have seen things from Dollar Tree at my goodwill priced $5.49 and up. It's crazy!

Yes, you are 100% so right about Mr. Goodwill who has totally, completely lost his mind into the path of GREED! One day, I saw my little old plated metal vase I donated (to my Goodwill near me) with a price tag marked $12.99 !!! Too bad! I started donating my things to other charities instead.

Gien is a very old French company. That platter is worth a lot.
That Gien Aurelie platter is probably around $80-90, but if you ever see the ones with deer...GRAB IT! They sell for like $400!
I use compressed air that you use for your computer to clean intricate items, works great!
My husband used the air compressor the other day to clean a frame I found…so I wish I had thought about that! 😫

Danielle, I agree with you that Mr. Goodwill has lost his mind. I get mad almost every time I go inside of a Goodwill. I live in East Tennessee and there is another big thrift store in our area with many locations call KARM and their prices are almost double what Goodwill prices are. Thrift stores have gotten ridiculous. I like all the items you found. Thanks for sharing.

Your dustpan and brush are for a fireplace. They're different from a crumb catcher or silent butler. I love the chamber pot.
I think the white "pot" is for ones bum. We had one at our grandparents when I was little. It was a convenience when the outhouse was so far away and it was Winter.
Those lamps are princess house and they were more than 15.00 when I got them thru princess house, they were hostess gifts when you sold, if my memory serves 250.00. They do look beautiful when they are on, I’ve gotten many compliments on them thru the years. Also that glass coffee pot with brass handle, is princess house it comes with a brass base that holds a candle so it keeps your coffee hot for having it on table or buffet. 😔yes I have that too. 🤦🏻♀️ It was very popular back then. 😂 I made lots of sales.
I see them at antique stores all the time for more money so I’m sure someone who really liked them got a good deal!

People say goodwill is high, but still shop there. Even my local charity thrifts are high. There are still good deals to be found. I think they are just looking everything up.

As so many have said already Goodwills prices have gotten insane! It’s almost no fun to shop there anymore! My favorite piece you picked up today was the bunny picture- loved it! Nice haul. The chamber pot looks very nice all white. If Good Will wants to compete with Dollar Tree they better drop their prices. But I have noticed all the major thrift stores have gotten quite pricey. I see nothing wrong with making a decent profit, but some items cost more then what is in stores new today.

I would highly recommend donating goods to a Salvation Army store. It truly is a charity and the top salaries reflect that.

Ours closed the thrift store and it made me so sad.

Yes, no more round up my $total as donation at check out like I used to! The other day, someone donated $5.00 at check out before me, beaming with smile so proud of herself thinking she’s done a good deed not knowing where those $$$ donations actually goes to?! 😂

I hoped you would pick up the print of the children playing with the rabbits. I have the very same one, and love it. I keep mine out all year long. I also would have snapped up that green and white toile pillow. I bet you wish you had purchased the copper tea set after all.

The needle point Xmas pillow was so good, too bad you regretted not getting it.. I know how that feels :( But at least your grabbed that beautiful green one! Also, those crystal lamps were fire! And the brass crumb sweeper set too. I find everything so cheap there.. you should see value village in Canada, it is robbery!!

In Arizona Goodwills, we have a 20% off coupon for purchases over $20. If I didn’t have that, I wouldn’t buy. Goodwill does have some costs with donated items. They pay thousands per month to have trash hauled, as people donate trash too. And their operating costs have gone up with inflation. But still I think the prices are too high.

I love your finds. Goodwill have gotten so ridiculous in prices. I won’t pay high prices for things from there if it isn’t a deal and decent price I leave it. I just can’t justify paying high dollar prices for things that were donated to them. Like you said Mr Goodwill is crazy. I loved the copper tea set.
GW prices have gotten crazy stupid in Ohio, I don;t even go in the boutique ones they jack the prices upso much in those stores

Love the coffee grinder, haven't found one of those yet that i like, but that one was nice and I have that fluted silverplated tray you picked up next, lol. Loved the holly pillow too, was it needlepoint? I couldn't believe you didn't get the button top box 😂 Ditto for me on that tea set, gorgeous copper and brass 😮 that 59.99 bench ❤❤❤❤ and being a picnic basketaholic I would have had to get that one, haha. You got some primo things though for sure!!!

I don’t donate to Goodwill anymore because of the prices! I wish everyone would stop donating to them!
We never shop at Goodwill anymore because their prices are so ridiculously high. And they are supposed to be a company that is non-profit. But I don't believe that is the truth anymore
I stopped donating to Goodwill because of this very reason. I found another place to donate my unwanted goods I send my things now to Abilities Unlimited they help the disabled to learn how to work then I think help them find jobs. They very reasonably priced. I have been so disappointed with Goodwill. I hate it because I could find some good things then

I thrift every time I travel if possible and if flying SW always have an extra suitcase 🧳 just for goodies! If I don’t buy anything I just throw dirty clothes in it! Not that it happens often 😂
