I actually liked this scene quite a bit. I can see how some of the acting was a bit off, but it was a nice character moment for Finn, and it showed that in the end Phasma was kind of a coward. Great script dialogue, but the acting needed a little more takes from them.
2:13 the tension in this scene is perfect. They didn’t ruin it by having the stormtroopers point their guns at Phasma, but physically demonstrated doubts about her. She got the jump on them being she was their superior. Also love that moment where she auto-aims all of them, so sick.
I think it’s better they didn’t aim their guns at her because it makes no sense to do that considering the time and place, not to mention the Resistance hero in front of them would be a bigger target than their own captain. But we can see they doubt the ability or the trustworthiness of their captain and Phasma knows this so she takes them out.

Finn would have trained under Cardinal to learn the values of teamwork and discipline, and then trained under Phasma to learn brutality and more advanced combat. Finn should have been one of the most lethal fighters in the Resistance. 2:11 see the hole in the right stormtrooper
Phasma's one eye in the deleted the scene said more then all the dialogue in this movie
Not gonna lie I kinda like this scene especially when he says let's go chrome dome
I didn't remember the movie being this good.
1:11 "Hey"
0:01 - Now all she has to do to shoot Rose and she will be dead
0:03 - Fucking god damn it
One of the best duels ever in Star Wars
Ok this might be the best scene of the movie
the ripping of the ATST cockpit to reveal the ball droid was the quintessential scene of Disney's star wars
1:12 “hey” had me laughing when i first saw this
This duel is arguably better than any lightsaber duel in this trilogy
This duel and the one he had with FN-2199, along with his duel with Kylo is better than the other fights in the ST.
0:20 BB-8: *“It's Over, First Order. I Have The High Ground.”*
This was so much better than what we got. A way better send off for Phasma
Here’s a better exchange:
Phasma: “You were always a pitiful soldier”
Finn: “And you were always a pain in my ass!”
I propose a reintroduction of a fan favourite at 2:02
"TRAITORS!" roared the unmistakable tenor of FN-2199.
Finn and Phasma twirled around to see the interloper. With a whir-snap, he activated the two Riot Batons he carried and charged with righteous fury against both Finn and Phasma."
Then we get an epic three-way battle.
Fin's story in episode 8 should've revolved around going up against Phasma, building up to this moment. Both characters got the short end in this movie.
BB-8 doesn't reveal himself until after the troops are taken care of so he doesn't get blasted instantly
*rises up* “hey” bAaM LOL
While my opinion on this movie is more positive than most, I agree that this version of the scene would've been much better.
You know it's a Disney film when the much better version was deleted
Project Resurrection is gone. All that hard work destroyed
Finn be like “hey”
If captain Rex saw this he will be so disappointed
Phasma: traitor!
Me: how dare you stand where he stood?!
I’m so glad none of this is cannon
When Finn calls her “chrome dome” or said “rebel scum” I cringe
Its disney
I love how when the Mega Star Destroyer was damaged, Phasma decided to get up, gather a bunch of stormtroopers away from Fin's unconscious body, and then encounter him, instead of just shooting him immediately
1:12 - 1:15 I love the way Finn said "hey" and then lands a blow on Phasma, awesome moment! 👏🏽
*DAMN SHAME ON YOU PHASMA*😑
Killing Captain Phasma is Finn's revenge on her for being betrayed.
This was like the most legitimate Star Wars thing in this move, and the took it OUT!?
fins "rebel scum" line was so gangster, bro was gunna say it twise.
"Let's go Chrome Dome"???
"I'm not a number anymore!"
"I'm not a slave to your machine!"
ファズマってやっぱ9まで残しとくべきキャラだったけどこのシーン結構好きだったからおけ
I couldn’t even tell this was an edit, I watched this and thought “holy shit, is the fight better than I remember?” Now I’m gonna have to see the original again
Finn and BB-8 are the two best characters in the new trilogy, with Finn being a little better.
Kylo is the best
R2d2 I say no more
As for me, all the characters there are good, but due to the lack of timing, most of them are not very well covered.
Cool of Rian & Disney to waste so much of Finn & Phasma's potential. She really was the new Boba Fett. Squandered potential.
JJ set it up but clearly had no plans & Rian didn't seem to care either.
Gotta say 2 good things about this movie
Awesome cgi
Awesome AT-M6 design
I wouldn’t have mind if they made Phasma one of the main villains with more screen time her presence was great
Phasma is my favorite of the sequels.
Darth vader is still my no 1
Her staff is so bad ass, and her book was so good! This film really f***ed it all up
2:18 I can just imagaine Phasma saying "oh great heavens" based on how she just turned her head lol
One of the few characters that gave me that old Star Wars feeling, and they let her die...
I think it's because she wouldn't be appropriate in the next episode.
Imagine a force sensitive Finn, leads a defection of storm troopers, maybe like one or two of them end up being force sensitive themselves and with some lessons training, slowly but surely, rebuild the jedi but with Luke as grand master. Him using his wisdom instead of the previous way the jedi used to be he would reform the jedi and there would be a small rag-tag group of jedi in the resistance. the seeds of the new jedi order.
Just spitballing
Last time Luke was Grandmaster he tried to kill a padawan for a bad dream which caused the destruction of the entire order.
@@somm150 well he was written like that for some reason. If a man who killed 20 children can be redeemed an awkward teenager with slightly bad dreams can be too.
PHASMA: You are a bug in the system
FINN: Lets go Chrome Dome.
Why was this better than any of the supposed lightsaber fights in the entirety of this trilogy?
2:17
We all scream for ice cream
1:12 that "hey" has "hello there" energy
This is how the last Jedi should have ended
I feel like if Finn was force sensitive, he'd be using a tanto bladed Saber
