great video kyle! i found these shrimp to be awesome algae eaters, of course the better thing to do is to have a balance tank and not have hair algae. I've noticed they only last a few months in my caridina type planted tanks and when i researched it was like you mentioned, they're more brackihsh, still a very interesting shrimp. great video as usual!
Absolutely! Balanced is the way to go! These guys have been doing well in my tap water water. My tds is well over 1200 here where I live so they seem to be doing ok!
Pinocchio Shrimp will do a good job of getting algae off of your plants, substrate, and scape. If you want/need shrimp which will clean algae and micro-inverts out of your tank, you're best off getting Bamboo shrimp. It would be a good idea to have one or two of these little water clarifiers in the tank anyway. They won't mess with your other shrimp, and they'll help keep the water crystal clear. It's the perfect solution for a low tech tank. If you're starting to get green water, but your shrimp and snails are keeping the surfaces clean, throw a couple of bamboo shrimp in and you'll notice a difference within 24 hours. Your water will probably be running clear within a week, depending on how bad it was. They are absolute monsters when it comes to leaning the water. You may even see them hanging from the filter outlet trying to catch bits flowing out from it. They are really fun little shrimp that look nothing like the neocaridina davidii.
I love these guys, very beautiful. Cool different body structure from neos. Personally my favorite thing about them is how they move though the water. Its totally different from a neo who clearly swim though the water. These guy hover through the water. It's so cool to watch, like the little helicopters of my aquarium. I didn't even know they were great hair algae eaters. Now that I think about it that explains why al tanks that have them don't get hair algae. Learn something every day, thanks dude!
I recently went to my local pet store, and checked the price of Ghost Shrimp. They're just as expensive as Goldfish now. Crazy. I used to get ten for a dollar. Wanted to get a few, but not at that price.
Happy New year wishes to you and your family sir.

No problem! They are pretty cool to watch, they don’t sit still. They’re always moving around the tank

They used to be super cheap!
did they breed for you?
No, they are a brackish shrimp so would need better parameters. I believe they have a larval stage too like amanos
First!
Woohoo! Thanks buddy 😁
