We had our monthly evacuation drill today. It was pretty much in the same area as the January drill. I was not at the school for February's drill because I had mouth surgery (yes it was pretty painful). Hopefully, sometimes until the end of the year I can conduct a fire drill. Sorry about the video glitches.
Pullstation are Simplex T-Bars (Dual Action)
Alarms are Simplex
- 4903-9217
- 4903-9219
- 4903-9836
- 4903 Truealerts
There's 5 panels and I only found 1 of 5. I'm not sure where the main panel is. Any questions, let me know and I'll try to respond.
6/28/19. Wow, Thanks for 10K views.
I wish my alarms were in marchtime in school. I graduated in 2021, so its too late for that.
Omg I love the pitch
If you love these alarms. I do have more videos of them going off. Oh, and thank you for the sub.
Awesome videos
Thank you!
Nice Video Man!
Thanks!!
Your teacher sounds very nice
She was.
Cool we had one today
Nice!
The heck this was 5 years ago :o
Yup. Time flies.
I like the layout of mechanical horns. Even though most of our school has electronic horns our system is made up of Gentex and System Sensor alarms. I have a video on my channel
I miss hearing this system. Although I do have a 8219 in my collection. If you want, I have more videos of this system if you want to check it out .
My school has those alarms
Cool.
Also I subscribed
Thank you!
Nice video! I like the march time option. And the alarm at the beginning sounds nice on march time. Awesome system recording, jared thompson!
Thanks. Although, I do have other videos of the system going off in different parts of the building.
@@FireRescue80 ok dude, thanks for filming it! I like your videos!
Thanks!
@@FireRescue80 When was the February drill for that year?
Which year? Be a bit more specific.
I not sure why those alarms sound like my clock chiming 12 the old mechanical clocks with time and strike
Ok.
I thought those were Simplex 2901-9833s when I heard them go off...
There's Simplex 4903s and Truealerts throughout the building.
the 4903's are 9405's and 9238's set to march time.
@@burnoutteamclubbtcp7283 Actually, these are the 9219s. The horn on the second alarm is starting to go bad. Speaking of which, I don't know how it's sounding now.
seems appropriate, a MARCH fire drill when alarms are doing "MARCH TIME" lol
by the way, for all you music people out there; the 1st alarm you hear is in G# or Ab
ENTERTAINERMIKE99 What do you mean G# or Ab?
the pitch of the horn :D
that's the note that you would hear if you were playing a G sharp or A Flat on a keyboard :D, it's the same exact note :D
ENTERTAINERMIKE99 Oh... thanks for the tip.
0:39 what's that blue strobe light thingy
The blue lights are where the fire extinguishers are located.
Was this today?
Yes.
I think these are 9217's.
These are 9219s.
Action starts at 0:08
That info isn't necessary.
Ok
Idk why the teacher laughed when the alarm went off.
@@FireRescue80 when you said aww man I wanted to pull the fire alarm, maybe one day.
0:42 What’s that blue light there for?
That light indicates that there's a fire extinguisher directly below it.
@@FireRescue80 oh cool
Does that school tell you before every drill?
When I first came, they did not but since the incident in Parkland, we changed our policy. Ever since then, they told us when a drill was about to occur. It's a sad thing to know why we have to do it that way.
@@FireRescue80what was the incident
Seriously dude?
@@FireRescue80 i genuinely do not know
The shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.
Were the strobes synchronized?
Strobes and horns are synchronized. I'm not sure about the Truealerts though.
What does strobe/horn synchronization mean
@@zachconner6792 The horn sounds at the same time as the others. Same goes with the strobe lights.
Oh I see
@FordTaurusfan 2020 The horns are set to 120bpm which are running off of the default coding option from the panel. However, the strobes are wired to the NACs which they're set to Temporal 3. Thus, the strobes are flashing Code 3 while the horns are sounding 120bpm.
I’m in 4th grade
I'm in 12th.
I like fire drills accept the alarm is super annoying
Not to be nasty but this is the truth. Annoying is meant to get your attention.
True
Bro why TF is it so quiet in the classroom, my fire alarms in my school ain't ever quiet
Donovan Alvarado This is an old system. Plus you can adjust the loudness on them.
Older systems usually have either no alarms in classrooms or only remote strobes.
Plus, part of the system was installed in the 50's. There's only a few rooms with horn strobes in them.
I'm doing a QNA video soon. If there's anything you would like to know, even if it's random, leave a comment using #AskJared.
Jared Thompson do you like fire alarms ?
MasterSadChild As long as I'm wearing ear protection.
Jared Thompson I don't know how people can stand the sound without covering their ears...I'm kinda actually scared of fire alarms.
MasterSadChild Same. I like hearing the sound of fire alarms rather than smoke detectors. Like I said I need to be wearing ear protection.
Where in the school is the panel located
0:10 Alarm begins
Okay and?
@@FireRescue80blud is mad
Huh?
aaaaaaaa cheetos
Not sure what that means.
Pause the video and press 0:01 and you can see he was learning about communism lol but that was cool
It was something that had to do with the Catholic church. Not trying to offend anyone, but to me I'm not a person who goes yo to church all the time and learning this stuff was nothing but a bunch of crap.
Jared Thompson oh ok
@@restinpeacelol Yeah.. don't get into world studies. It sucks.
Lol I remember when I did this last yeah in 7th grade
@@FireTech7 Yeah, I really never enjoyed it.

Sorry for the late reply, more videos of the system coming soon.
