April Fire Drill @ EHS 4/24/19

First thing first, I have no clue why the 9252s are sounding that way. What I can tell you is that the alarms are very glitchy. About 3 years ago (2016), the alarm seen at the 0:49 mark used to have a different coding. Not only that, it was completely flipped upside down and didn't work (that issue was later reported). A year later, it was working properly which it was coded to do Code 3 and had a 9236 horn on it.
Furthermore, after hearing them go off in 2016 I wanted to film them going off again using the 9236 horn. When I entered the area, not only it was doing Code 3 and March Time alternating it was using a 9252 horn and the strobe light wasn't flashing. There's also an alarm at the 1:20 mark which didn't have a working horn but had a working strobe. After reentering the building, I then shoot the scratchy sounding 9219. Which I have film more than twice.
Alarms heard
- Simplex 4903-9217
- Simplex 4903- 9219
- Simplex 4903-9252
The strobes in the bathroom are Simplex 4904-9112
Next month is sadly the last time I will be making a fire drill video.
Any questions, just ask.

Something special might be happening to next month's drill.
Update as of May 14th, we figure out that there may be an issue with the sync model in this particular zone. However, unsure if the problem has been resolved.
Please read the description.

Was this a fire alarm malfunction?
@@QueenKenziegaming no.
@@salvinderkaur2389 Huh?
Jared some of them are 4093’s and some of them are 4569’s and they replaced the 4902’s
Not sure where you're getting these model numbers from but nothing has been replaced recently as far as I know.
I just laughed at the alarm sounding like ahh. Ahhh. Ah ah ah
Yup. Not supposed to be doing that though.
The 9252 is sounding as code 3 and march time. It sounds like it's a 4100U and 4005 systems
The 9252 isn't supposed to be doing that. There's no 4005 on the this system. There's 3 4100s... whether they're 4100U or 4100ES I'm not sure.
I wish that the EHS has 4903 9220s
It would be cool if they did. However they have 9219s, 9236s, 9252s, and 9417s.
00:38 Annnnnnnn, Annnnnnnn, Annnnnnnn, Ann, Ann, Annnnnnnn, Annnnnnnn, Annnnnnnn, Ann, Ann,
I Like that coding on that Simplex 4903-9252, it sounds so awesome and unique!
Yeah, it's not supposed to be doing that.
2:26 either those alarms are very quiet, or those are some sound proof doors.
This system sounds so funny
Yeah but it's not supposed to be doing that. I'm
I miss your high school fire drills, they were awesome! I was pretty confused when I first heard that fire alarm at 0:48. Good video!
also,Lol why are people asking about sweatshirts, vacations, and ADT??
I miss filming this system as well. I left this school back in June after attending for nearly 7 years. Actually if you go on Instagram and use #ehsfirealarmsystem you'll find more pictures of the system. As for why the 9252s are making that wierd tone.. my best guess would be that the alarms jumpers aren't cut. Also, I don't know the reasons behind the whole sweaters thing. It's just people looking for attention I assume. Sooner or later I will be acquiring a new fire alarm panel that will be able to mimic this system. If you have any additional questions or things you'd like to know don't hesitate to ask.
@@jaredthompson3011 Cool! I will.
I think that the 9252 is doing that because it has a selection for smart sync and it may be turned on. So it may be a sync issue because it wants to do code 3 with the truealert but is coded to March time. Just a theory.
I do have a few videos on my channel with a few devices that might match the ones in your school so if your interested check those out.
I'll have to take a look at your channel.
Fire Alarm with a few beats, nice😅😅
Thanks!!
My guys is the nac that codes the 9252 some how is jumping to the March time circuit some how, idk
The 9252s have their smart syncs enabled when they should be disabled. Either that or it's faulty nac.
I literally liked that noise when the fire alarm
Yeah it's not supposed to be doing that.
It went like Don Don dooooon doooon doooon
Yeah it's not supposed to be doing that.
To be honest, if I was in the bathroom doing my business and i just hear a fire alarm going off while I am doing my business it would scare my butt off 😅
These don't really scare me.
I know exactly what you're saying. That would scare the crap out of me too, figuratively AND literally! Who wants to hear that God-awful thing while doing your business? Yikes!
It'll be a different story if they were installed in the bathrooms.
The newer piezo horns sound like they're saying, "Left! Left! Left, right, left!"
Where do you hear that? All I hear is alarms that are doing Code 3 and March and alternating.
It's just that the newer ones sound like they're alternating between March and Code-3 in a way that reminds me of said chant.
@@shelbythibodeau5506 Okay then....
Mechanical horns sound beautiful when they go off in march time. And could a failing sync module be the cause of a certain alarm doing code 3 and march time alternating?
I love the sound of these as well. The reason why they're doing the weird Code 3 and March Time alternating is because the system is set to March Time while the alarm's Smart Sync is enabled since it's trying to run with the TrueAlerts. If the Smart Sync would be turned off, it would be going off in March Time.
@@jaredthompson3011 This maybe a solution:Set the true alerts and that alarm all to continuous and let the panel code them to march time.
Not to be nasty but that particular area was completed after the NFPA required newer/additions to any system to use Code 3. Therefore, that part of the system must run Code 3.
@@jaredthompson3011 Could that area's notification devices (true alerts and that weird alarm)get driven by another NAC programmed to code 3 and all old ones use a NAC programmed to march time?
The mechanical horns/electronic horns have their own individual NAC. The TrueAlerts have their individual NAC as well since they're doing code 3. My best bet is the the 9252 is wired to the NACs that control the older alarms. If the Smart Sync is disabled, I guarantee that alarm will be doing March Time the way it is supposed to.
it sounds like a song with the glitch
It sorta does.
My High School Has The Simplex 9252 Horn Strobes And 9134 Strobes And 9149 Speaker Strobes The Horn Strobes Are On A Beeping Temporal 3 So The Horn Strobes Are In The Hallways The Strobes Are In The Classrooms Stairs (The Horn Strobes Are There) And Bathrooms And The Speaker Strobes Are In The Gyms And Cafeteria With A Stage
That coding is so strange sounds like something I can dance too lol
It is. While I was filming this I was like, "What is wrong with the system now?" Apparently, it's an easy fix.
@@jaredthompson3011 cool
Thanks.
@@jaredthompson3011 no problem Jared
It is supposed to be doing march time. There is a problem with the alarm.
You can still record any fire alarms you ever see going off in public
The fire department that I volunteer for has SpectrAlert Advances.
@@jaredthompson3011 Those are pretty cool, next time you should show us!
Not at the station anymore.
That alarm at 0:48 had a nice little beat to it
If you adjust the video speed to X2 it's even better.
Lmao. You’re totally right! Ive never heard an alarm set to that code before. Do you know the name of that code?
@@The_A_Cast Lol. Glad you enjoyed.
Definitely about to do that. My whole work is outfitted with the well known genesis fire alarms. They test them once a month and we always dread it because those little alarms make a WHOLE LOT of noise lol
@@The_A_Cast That isn't a code. There's a problem with the alarm. The alarm is supposed to be doing March Time.
I’m curious how many 9217s an 19s did the school have
I'm honestly not sure. I'd say like 30+ since this is a big system.
What kind of sweatshirt did you wear in their last fighter video
I don't know.....
I love fire drill
Thanks!
I don’t. Fire Alarms are too loud for me
They're supposed to be loud. It's so everyone could hear them.
I heard the true alerts are doing 120 and code 3 at same time
There's no TrueAlerts.
the 9219 and the 9217 are the same horns except with different candela outputs.
I always love the sound of these horns. I been wanting to get a 9219 for my collection, but I can't get it from online. I don't have a credit card.
@Mike Graham The 9217 is basically an old older version of the 9219. Since the 9217 didn't have candela output, that's when 9219 came. Don't know much about the 9215.
I think one of the simplex alarms are maybe malfunctioning and not working properly it may need some fixing
Yeah they're having some difficulties. Apparently, the 9252s have Smart Sync enabled when it shouldn't. Thus, is alternating 120bpm and Temporal 3.
What kind of sweatshirts do you have
Why are you asking me about sweatshirts? It's just strange but I have firefighter sweatshirts, sports sweatshirts, Disney sweatshirts, etc.
Do you like the System Sensor Sp2r1224mc?
I have no clue what that is. Sorry.
@@jaredthompson3011 It's a speaker strobe.
@@razvandobos9759 I see.
Lol you can dance to that alarm
I would dance to these alarms any day. Although, I miss hearing them.
The sweatshirt you're wearing during the fire drill
I think a Disney World one. Don't really remember.
JARED THERE ARE TWO ALARMS NEAR THE CLASS AND DOWNSTAIRS…
I think we all know that.
This was my alarm in elementary, but now in in 7th grade and it's a beeping code 3
Every school I went to had these. Actually, just a few days ago I took possession of one of these horn/strobes.
The worst thing is that they are putted in classrooms and I sit next to it.
There are some rooms where there's horn strobes in them. Like the power tech class, science room and in the Black Box (drama room). Sadly, this week is the last time I will ever hear the alarms at EHS go off for a drill. Although, I do have a bit of a surprise for the final drill.
I was bored so I set my alarm off to see what code it was, it's a code 3, I should of known because it went off tons of times before.
@@Lordy-Lord Most smoke detectors are required to sound Code 3. However, I think March Time is the best coding option to use. The reason why I say that is it sorta motivates people to evacuate the building. It also gives you that feel to "march" along with the alarm. So in reality, it makes you wanna be calm and evacuate but at the same time you want to get out of the building as quickly as possible.
Let your school know the alarms weren't flashing.
The problem already been reported. They are looking at it now. I really think that the system needs an upgrade. Not all of the alarms work the way they should. Considering the fact that the system is showing up with a 'Trouble'.
Musical fire alarms lol
Lol.
I'm having a Fire Drill on Tuesday May 28th.
Wow long way away. Next month is my last month to film a drill.
I might have one on Wednesday.

There's no 4002 on this system.
I can hear the alarm trying to do the march time should simplex is very faulty
The problem is that the device is 2 wired when it should be 4 wired. Since the nacs for the horn and strobe are tied together... you're basically getting what you're hearing. That's the problem.

@@alexandersalarms5380 I believe there's a problem with the Smart Sync settings. Apparently it's enabled when it should be disabled. If the Smart Sync was disabled, the 9252s most likely will sound 120bpm. Overall, that's an easy fix.
@@jaredthompson3011 ah.

The 9252 has the same horn circuitry. These were the last few models until the 4903 series was discontinued.
