March Fire Drill @ EHS 3/27/19
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 26 мар 2019
- Drill starts at 2:55.
The sound of the fire alarms ring in the next monthly evac drill. The difference between this drill and the others that I have filmed was that the alarms were to go off while we were heading to class. Definitely something that we don't practice very often. Throughout the drill, you will hear the system in March Time and in Code 3. The alarms that are heard are the Simplex 4903-9236, Simplex 4903 TrueAlerts, and the classic Simplex 4903-9219. By the way, the system is in 'Trouble' again.
Any questions about the system just let me know.

@YAY5624 Around the 5:17 mark.
I thought these horns were replaced
@@alexdiaz4875 They're not replacing these. They work fine.
I saw some of those alarms at a hospital but the code is probably a speaker evacuation
@@alexdiaz4875 The only way that you can tell they're speaker strobes is to listen to them.
It's *march* *time* fire drill!
My elem school has the simplex 4903 9236's on code 3 witch flash on code 3 and sync up with all other ones. I'll defenatly miss this system as the middle & high school have the newer true alerts
Sounds like your elementary school has 2 wire 4903s. Very interesting setup. The system no longer does the March Time coding with the strobes being in code 3.
March fire drill and simplex alarm on March time
Nope. There's also TrueAlerts in the building as well. They're doing Code 3.
@@FireRescue80 I didn’t know that
I love the simplex 4903 especially on March time
Mhm.
March Time is my favorite!
Same.
I saw some of those alarms at the mall but the code is probably a speaker evacuation
The only way you can tell these are speaker strobes if you look at the labels. By the way, do you reply to any of the comments I left for you?
I love the thumbnails on videos like this
Thanks!
I had a fire drill on March 10
What alarms are at your school?
EST genesis horn strobes in white with trim plates
Cool.
They are my favorite alarms
Ok.
How do you film these fire drill videos? Are you the principal?
Nope. Not a principle. I was a student. I have my secrets with filming.

What does EHS stand for for this particular school?
E.H.S is the abbreviations of the high school. It's a High School.
The strobes that are doing code-3 is a code violation because NFPA 72 requires that strobes must flash 1 per second in a steady continuous pattern, instead of a code-3 pattern
It's not a code violation. This system was installed between the years 93 to 96. Before Code 3 was mandatory. Therefore, this system surpassed the violation.
Code 3 pattern is the same as 1 per second you silly goose. They are both 60 beats per minute. Unless ur talking about gentex.
Well actually believe me or not the previous comment I made was a lie. Sorta... When the system was originally put in between 1993-1994, the strobes were unsychronized. In the early 2000s the system was updated to a accommodate a new wing. So with the new system added, parts of the older system were re-wired for newer devices. This included re-wiring the strobes so they can become ada complaint. Hence the reason why they flash Code 3.
@@FireRescue80 Interesting
This system is rather interesting when you found key components. I was able to find the old nac extenders as well as a few parts of the original system. Judging by how the school district laid out its systems and remembering how they operated. You can tell which stuff was original and which was not. This particular system has a really weird history.
Wonder about a civil defense drill.
Those drills haven't been practiced since the mid 1980s. Even though Civil Defense was disbanded in the year of 1968. So no. We don't practice Civil Defense drills.
We actually had a severe weather/bomb drill today.
I don't remember the last time we did a severe weather drill. We had our last Lockdown Drill back in January.
Jared Thompson yeah we have ALICE drills pretty frequently to.
@@dale4231 What's an ALICE drill?
Jared Thompson ALICE stands for Alert Lockdown Inform Counter and Evacuate. It’s basically the number 1 rated way to conduct intruder drills in America. It’s basically something that gives you options. So Alert would mean alerting others of the situation when it first becomes aware via the emergency intercom system. Lockdown is a resort when you can’t evacuate do to the intruder being near you. In a lockdown you would barricade the doors and the windows looking into the halls. Inform means to stay informed if you’re in lockdown so you know when it’s safe for you to evacuate. Counter is the last resort meaning that you fight the intruder back because they breach your place of safety. Fire extinguishers, hole punches, and staplers are a few examples of items that can be used to defend yourself. Evacuate is the best option when it is safe to do so. If you become aware of an intruder on the other side of the school, you would evacuate SPRINTING to the safety location. And ALICE is NOT a step by step plan. It just gives you options.
@@dale4231 I learn something new everyday.
0:55 2 Minutes until drill
1:55 1 Minute until drill
2:55 drill time
Dude. It's literally listed in the description.
I love the true alerts but I heard they are loud!
Im all in with the 4903s but if you watch September's drill you'll hear them perfectly.
@@FireRescue80 I watched that a long time ago.
Those aren't TrueAlerts...
Yes those are.
@@FireRescue80 they're 4903s, not TrueAlerts. TrueAlerts make a different sound than what's heard here.
Those 15 year old truealerts are still going strong
They sure are.
How come after 15+ years the 4903s are deteriorating
@@zachconner6792 The metal plates in the horn (which vibrates) may shift. Causing the horns to sound a bit raspy.
@Mike Graham Those alarms are TrueAlerts. If you don't believe me, watch this video. ruclips.net/video/SdwwtYRZTwQ/видео.html
Lol the coding is march time and its March what happens if the first day of the month is a weekend
Yup. True. What do you mean first day of the month. EHS always did their drills within the last week of the month. Most noticeably on a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday.
@@FireRescue80 like a snow day or so happens then
The drill would be moved to next month.
2:55
March time
That's stated in the comments and the description. Just fyi.
Noah there’s also true alert’s in the building
lol the exact same day I had a false alarm at my school 😂
Lol. Sadly, this is my last year here at this school. As of now, there will be two more drills until I leave for Tech School.
Our school has a notifier system. Our school has some rare alarms like the Gentex GMH/GMS and system sensor mass on March time but it’s slower
It’s about once a week we get a false alarm
It’s also very rare we have fire drills we only had one this year
@@ethansalazar8283 Oh really. You should have a drill monthly. After the incident in Parkland, we changed a lot of things up with evacuation drills.
2:55 action starts
I have it in the description as well.
@@FireRescue80 ok
So yet again unnecessary info
What happen to the old mechanical horn
Nothing happened to them. Why you ask?
March time coding in the Month of March LOL!
Mhm.
Looks like this place have both mechanical horns and electro-mech horns. Is this the result of some alarms get replacement horns(electro-mech) after the original ones(mechanical) failed?
Yes. Most likely. However, some of these alarms are sadly being replaced slowly but surely with TrueAlerts.
An actual fire 🔥 happened on the 3rd floor I almost died
Seriously???
Are the truealerts mechanical
They're electromechanical.
What’s the difference between the two
@@zachconner6792 The mechanical horn that the 4903-9215, 9217, or 9219 vibrate to make the tone. Electromechanical horns like the 4903-9236, 9238, and the TrueAlerts have the ability to be multi toned. However, because how old the TrueAlerts are, the multi tone feature has not been implemented in the device.
Those truealerts are older than my brother
@@zachconner6792 The 4903s are older than the TrueAlerts.
How are the strobes doing the code 3 pattern?
That I can't give you a 100% correct answer. They are probably hooked up to a customize sync module that makes them flash Code 3.
@Conner the Radioactive Fozhead I would have to think it has something to do with the Simplex Sync modules that makes it flash Code 3.
@Conner the Radioactive Fozhead That's the only thing I can think of.
@Conner the Radioactive Fozhead I'm not sure how it's wired up. However, there's 2 Main panels and 3 annunciators.
@Conner the Radioactive Fozhead I know that I'm a bit late. Do you know what the TrueAlerts are? If they are 2 wired. Cause I found 9252's in the building and they are having serious problems.
