filipino here. first off, never been to coron, el nido or boracay. lol. but that’s by choice. anyway, i really like that you decided to share both sides. you will really appreciate our privileges. continue what you’re doing. thank you for visiting our country. ps: i hope you didn’t have difficulty finding a vegetarian eatery or restaurant.
@@ConradTheSecond hello there! Thanks for your kind words :) and no, I found some veggie options always :) some good old rice and veggies is always on the menu ahah
What a great reminder of the power of documentary photography. I love this. You just got a new subscriber. :) I like the point of going deeper and avoiding the tourist area. I did that in Bermuda years ago, and once again during a cruise, where it was a little more difficult to leave the "gated" area .I think you've got some great ideas here, and I'm grateful for what you've done.
@@ChrisBrogan thank you Chris for your kind words! This was a first approach, somehow unexpected, since I was planning to do a different kind of photography there. But somehow it drove my journey also in the following spots. In fact, after going to El Nido, I decided to take the documentary path a bit more seriously, going to document something specific. Hope you’ll like the second and third videos as well! Also, I’m curious to know what happened in Bermuda. Any chance I can discover more?
@ oh it’s similar to your story. I just felt like I was seeing the white tourist view not the people who work and make everyone’s day better. So instead of staying inside the lines, I rode the public buses and spent time where working people were, not with the resort types. Very similar.
I don't know how I stumbled on this video (and the channel), but it's great that you're documenting and sharing the things which are normally blocked away from tourists when they visit the country. Kudos to you, good sir!
@@ems9669 thanks 🙏🏽 in the following videos, I went deeper and deeper to see more things like these. It’s a beautiful country, with beautiful people, it was such a pleasure to be there
Glad you had a great time in Colon. If you get to visit Philippines again, come to Cebu and I'd gladly show you around. We can do a photowalk together.
Did you shoot the videos with x100v? How were you able to do the video and photo after? Do you just stop recording and then go to photo dial to take a shot?
@@renze1122 for sure they should do something. But the good thing is, at least, the Filipino people who live there seemed to be happier than my neighbors here in Italy. Something to reflect on.
@ yeah!! we Filipinos are happy people (not all) being contented in simple things and family oriented mindset. Sorry to hear that about your neighbors.

@ChrisBrogan such a nice experience! In the end, these kinds of experiences are way more rewarding than the classic touristy ones!

Thanks for sharing! I took a ton of photos on my trip to the Philippines, and haven't done anything with them. maybe this is my sign... ;)
Yeah go for it!
Nice photos documenting local culture and everyday life in the Philippines A breath of fresh air.

Would be rad!

Hi, all the videos are shot on iPhone, besides the studio part on Canon C70.
Are you using powergrade on some of your videos? What kind?
Just go for a film emulation, like Kodak 250D, a bit of halation, bloom and nothing more, starting from a 2383 LUT on DaVinci
An eye-opener.. government of coron should implement resettlement area for those people to protect the environment.
