    Better have one body only quite good or 2 bodies medium?

    • @alessandrocitterio

      @ottobi6433 uhm that’s a good question. Personally I have two good body, for work stuff, and it’s my R6 MK II (photos) and C70 (videos), but I mostly use my Fuji X100V if I have to roam around taking photos for me or RUclips. I think if pairing two bodies, you should consider to have one that is funnier to use. Like my R6 is a beast for my job, but is a pain in the harsh to take it with me and take for example street photos. If you have to choose one body, be sure you would be happy to shoot with it all day long in any situations! If you need to exchange more opinions, feel free to get back to me :)

    I shoot mainly in black and white and I feel black and white is great for grey cloudy winter days. Not only can you use techniques you describe in this video but if you like to edit your photos, you can use the edit to add contrast if the photo is looking a bit flat, just don't go too over the top. I tend to shoot for the highlights and then adjust in the edit but slightly overexposing the sky sounds like a great technique I will have to try. Having a histogram in the camera will be very useful to help keep highlights from blowing out details. How we expose really plays a vital part in shaping the overall look of our photographs.

    I am getting close to spending that amount myself. I was shooting with the Fujifilm X-T5 camera and had invested a fair amount of dollars in lenses and accessories. Then I decided to upgrade to the Canon R5 Mark II, and (once again) am investing additional monies in lenses and accessories to support this new camera and maximize its potential to the fullest. However, unlike you (apparently) I do not consider these expenditures on a camera system to be a (less than) needed investment. One reason for that is I realized, as I am investing in a new camera system, I will be selling the old system and this reduces the overall expenditure to a fraction of the initial amount spent. As an example, let's say that I spent $10,000 on the Fujifilm camera/lenses/accessories, but sold everything for $7,500 after using the system for 2 years. That reduces the initial expenditure for the Fujifilm system to $2,500. Now (in the above example), do I consider that $2,500 to be money wasted, or badly spent, because I decided to upgrade to a new and totally different Canon system? NO, not at all. That $2,500 was the amount I spent to: (1) enjoy learning about the Fujifilm X-T5 camera system and the "built-in" technology that was available to me, (2) enjoy my time in the great out-of-doors shooting pictures of wildlife, or the northern lights, or landscapes, and/or (3) doing macro photography for the 2-years that I had owned and used this system. Instead of considering the $2,500 a waste of my money, I consider it an investment. That is, the amount I paid to better enjoy the wonderful hobby that I have pursued for a number of years now. Also, I have not made any comparisons, but I ask myself, what would it have cost for me to have rented the Fujifilm X-T5 camera and the needed accessories/lenses for 2-years? I bet it would have been a lot more than $2,500. So, if I can summarize, (in the above example) I spent $2,500 on a Fujifilm camera system (with accessories/lenses) over a 2-year period. Was this money wasted because I got nothing in return for my "dollars spent". Again the answer is NO, not at all. For that money, I got more than $2,500 worth of enjoyment from using the Fujifilm X-T5 system to improve my picture quality, to enjoy the new/better camera technology, and to just enhance my enjoyment of life by doing more of something that I love to do.

    • @alessandrocitterio
      @alessandrocitterio 8 дней назад

      @@Waegn2 I see your point. Mathematically is corrected of course, but maybe I’ve not explained it properly in the video. On one side, I consider the money spent one thing, and the money earned another thing. That might apply to selling gear, prints, or work. So if I spend a certain amount on camera gear, it doesn’t matter if I’m getting other money from something else, I’m still spending that money. On the other side, I haven’t said is a waste of money. Spending such an amount of money is part of the game, especially on a working field. But as I clarified in the video, this one is meant for people who spend money on gear for fun/pleasure. So, in my opinion, considering the high cost of camera gear, there are other aspects to take into consideration before buying something new. Sometimes, you can get more value by renting and testing, before buying. So, to wrap up, I understand your point, and as well I don’t want to say is a waste of money. I think is just not the best way to spend money for me :)

    • @alessandrocitterio
      @alessandrocitterio 19 дней назад

      Yeah I think here is the point, is good of course to have choice (especially for work, where versatility is quite often necessary), but the question is how much a lens or camera has been used for real. In my case, for work, a 24-70 is on 99% of the time for photos, while the 15-35 is always on my C70. But for fun work, or travel, damn this combo is way to heavy. I was considering to get a 28mm pancake and a 50 1.8 for my canon, but I’ve to say with the Fuji I’ve almost all that I need for my free time. Yet, if I could pick a choice without thinking about money and work, I’d probably grab a Leica M11P with a 28mm and a 50mm. That’s all I really need in terms of lens and portability

I wanted the 24-105 f/2.8 particularly for hybrid video and the collar mount as I dont like heavy lenses hanging on the mount. And just a little piece of information I came across was people using the 28 to 70 F2. @@cinemaheist8 that’s interesting, I haven’t had this issue with my Canon. I was using a Sony too and the focus peaking was kinda similar. But I saw a lot of people is using the ZF with vintage lenses with amazing results. (Kinda jealous by the design of the ZF tho, I wish Canon would do the same 🥲)

      @@alessandrocitterio Yeah I think canon and sony are pretty similar, and I never would have known how good it can be if I hadn't bought Nikon'
