    Bought mine at the end of 2021 and it’s been my main camera for stills and video ever since. I come from a film photography background as well and often mix film and digital shots in my work. I can’t say enough good things about this camera 😅 Well done!

    Great review and lovely photos. The 16-55 really is a lens that can do it all. It’s practically glued to my camera.

      I prefer the primes. 18,23,33 f1.4. Plus the 56 f1.2 and 90 f2. I may get the 8mm next.

    I absolutely love my Fujifilm X-T4! I regularly shoot film and while going in between the two formats I always feel so familiar with everything on my camera.

    Nice review and beautiful images! It is indeed a lovely camera that I'll never sell. One thing that's underrated about the X-T4 is that it is more than a capable camera when it comes to action for both photo and video. I love making short films with it and you could argue that the movie/stills switch makes hybrid shooting become 2nd nature.

    Great insights. I bought this camera brand new when it first came out. I've owned the X-T 2, and X-T3 as well. At one point i had all three at the same time. I got rid of everything but the XT4 because I just love the way it handles and love the shutter sound. I primarily shoot with manual lenses, but the Sigma 15-50mm is lite and perfect. Not weather sealed, but I’ve never needed that. I am now intrigued by the Fuji 16 to 65 mm. I have bigger hands, so I add a grip. I have cages and battery grips and it's just an overall solid camera. I also appreciate the smaller file sizes. I don't know why people continue to cry about the auto focus. I have Sony cameras with wonderful autofocus, but those are mostly work horses. I've never had a problem with the auto focus. Yeah maybe it's struggled but I've never noticed it to be a problem. It definitely can appreciate your comment about using manual lenses. I've tons of Chinese ones and they all gave me great looks straight out of camera. For whatever it's worth whenever I share my photos from any camera the XT4 always gets the most compliments. Normal people don't care about specs they care about how the images make them feel. Especially when it reminds them of good times or some special memories. Great video!

    • @lisaportinari
      @lisaportinari  6 дней назад +1

      Thanks for sharing, definitely agree with people not caring about specs, I don't! Autofocus is definitely worse in video compared to Sony cameras but when it comes to photography is actually great!

    Lovely shots in there Lisa. The image quality is what led me to settle with Fuji; I was film-raised also, so manual focus is natural for me & using all that lovely vintage glass on my little X-T1 is a pleasure. The X-T4 looks pretty for sure - always a bonus. Really enjoyed your video. If you're tempted with GFX, they're getting very reachable now. I have one and tbh it's overkill for me so I'm moving it on, but it was an interesting experiment and the photos are wild. 👍❤

      @@lisaportinari Yes that's true. I had the wide zoom for a while that retails around the £550 mark but started by adapting 35mm vintage glass until I'd saved my pennies for the Fuji one. Sure get a ton more pleasure shooting my tiny X-T1 tbh

    Yeah - I went from X-T4 to X-T5. I missed the 26MP sensor, so then went to an X-S20. There reduced number of pixels improves dynamic range in terms of low light performance for both video and photos in my opinion. The X-S20 has upgrades from the X-T4 in terms of video specs so I am very happy with it, so still consider I have followed an upgrade path.

    • @peterleary8738
      @peterleary8738 6 дней назад

      The belief that the reduced number of pixels improves low light performance is a common one. The topic was covered in DP Review several years ago and more recently by Tony and Chelsea ruclips.net/video/VSFqCnzIe9M/видео.html.

    • @lisaportinari
      @lisaportinari  5 дней назад +1

      Oh I’ve never considered the X-S20! Glad you found a camera that works for you

    • @colinhoward2200
      @colinhoward2200 5 дней назад

      @@peterleary8738 But it was my personal findings have been after comparing what I have taken from the X-T5 and X-S20 (I have direct comparisons). So yes - I watch everyone including Tony and Chelsea and DP Review. My views are based on my own experience and shooting needs. And the X-S20 is just better for me - I have videos and photos after doing direct comparisons.
      Everyone needs to make their own minds up at some point rather than relying on other people - their use cases are not always the same as yours.

    • @colinhoward2200
      @colinhoward2200 5 дней назад

      @ I am not sure if I am double replying here - as I think my reply got lost.
      But I have given up relying on RUclips reviews, even from people like DP Revire and Tony and Chelsea - of course I do watch them.
      But...I have side by side comparisons of both my photos and footage between an X-S20 and X-T5. And for me the X-S20 did better in most circumstances.
      Remember there are a low mega pixel and high mega pixel cameras for all manufactures. For example the Sony AS7III has insane low light performance mainly based on the fact it has only a 12MP sensor.
      So for performance is better on the X-S20. I have actual photos and video that prove it to me. Trust me, I didn't want the experiment to turn out this way, as I had already invested in an X-T5. But I am now a lot happier after trading it in for an X-S20.
      Everyone needs to stop relying so much on reviews such as DP Review, and just try cameras out for themselves and their own use cases. Everyone is different and their views are subjective. We are not talking about measuring something imperical such as "what device is more accurate at weighing a kilogram here"

    I believe the reason Fuji's color's are different from other camera makers has to do with the color array layout having a "block" of green pixels together rather than the standard "checkered" layout of most sensors.

      Nobody cares what camera you use. They just care about your results.
      I own the XE1. It is a slow camera with contrast autofocus. I can live with that as I own a bunch of LUMIX bodies. I just bought a XE2 for $350. The autofocus is snappier. Some people swear by the Xtrans one sensor of the XE1. The Xtrans2 is pretty good two.
      Work with what you have. Figure out what you want and need. Many newer cameras are just incremental improvements over the previous camera. Remember, good enough is good enough. In the end the most important part of the camera is located 6” behind the camera.

      @@martingreenberg870 Yeah I know that the tools don't make the artist. Also I own just that one camera so there isn't really any option for me. Just wanted to know whether people count that camera as a pro one (by today's standards). Mainly because it has 16MP only.
      Also, any good zoom lens you'd suggest ? I don't have the kit lens as I got the body second hand and the kit lens on it's own is quite pricey. I just own a 27mm f2.8 TTartisan AF.

      @@mayukhbanerjee1147 What do you plan to use your camera for? I only use Fuji lenses. There are several 3rd party manufacturers as you know. The 1st lens to buy is the 18-56 kit lens. You can buy it for ~$300 used. It is frequently sighted as the best kit lens. It has a full frame range from 28-85. The 16-56 is 2x the price and heavier but brighter through the focal lengths. It lacks the OIS the kit lens has.
      I do street photography. I love the 23,35,50/2.0 lenses. Small. Lightweight. Fast. Each can be had fly around $350. Good places to start.

    The xt3 is the best Fujifilm X camera for pros. The xt4 actually messed things up a bit with the tilting screen, the 3 had it perfect. And now the xt5 is available for the same price, with the xt3 tilting screen. So much better than having to unfold a screen and have it out on the side.
