    *** Why Hunt Hogs? ***
    My journey into wild/feral hog hunting started like many others living in rural communities. I didn't start hog hunting for fun or sport... I did it because I had to. My father-in-law started me on this path several years ago when he asked me to help out with a problem. You see, hogs cause millions of dollars of damage and destruction each year in rural communities and our situation was no different. Hogs were destroying our land, our family's land, and the land our family tree farming business. The vast majority of hunting videos that you see on this channel are hogs, boars and sows, taken from family land... this problem is personal for me. We have had hogs come as close as 20 feet from my front door, and having 2 small children at home and knowing how aggressive and dangerous hogs can be, getting rid of the problem was a safety concern. This is why when people ask how I got into hog hunting... my answer is always "I didn't get into it because I wanted to, I started doing it because I had to!". It's a personal fight and struggle...
    __________________________________________________
    *** Why Hunt Coyotes and Predators? ***
    Coyotes and Predators, similar to hogs, cause financial stress for many families in rural communities. Coyotes kill livestock, plain and simple. Ranchers have battled coyotes killing cattle since the early days of ranching and it costs them dearly. Cattle ranching is a business, the cows aren't pets, every time they lose a calf to a coyote those families lose a paycheck. Cattle ranchers hate coyotes just as much as Farmers hate hogs! I hunt coyotes to protect the livelihood of my friends and neighbors that depend on their cattle business to feed their family...

      If you had to choose between the rattler35 or the hogster35, it'll be used mainly for coyotes and a nuisance wildlife business. Everything should be inside of 200 yards.

      Can the monocular/scanner eyepiece be added to the TS35? and it be used as a stand alone scanner? Or could it be configured to be used as a clip on? I’m going to be making a purchase before then end of the month, I don’t want to be stuck with a
      “Scope only” since a scan a bunch and don’t want to constantly take it on and off the rifle.

    I really like my 35. The latest firmware update fixed pretty much the small complaints I had with it. Another thing to mention is that the view in the scope is a decent amount better than the video that it records. The 35's base mag is perfect for getting target and closeup or running shots and having the PIP works for the longer shots on midwest coyotes. I have videos on my channel showing coyotes from 70 out to 800 yards.

      If I wanted to pop squirrels as close as 10 yards, would the 35 do this adequately? Or would I be annoyed and frustrated with the magnification at such a short distance? Would I have issues with focus that close? Thank you

    • @Duckhunterbow
      @Duckhunterbow 2 года назад +3

      @@Backwoodsmachinist probably a little too much magnification for that. If they're holding still you might be okay. It will focus down to less than 10 yards but the depth of field is pretty tight at that close. You'll be adjusting the focus alot as they move closer and further at the closer ranges

    If there is anything that I could add to this great review, it would be to get the highest resolution detector that you can monetarily justify. A TS19 or 25-256 price is really tempting, but in the long run, going for a 384 (or 640) is just going to provide much clearer images.

    For the price and gun mount function it seems the AGM Rattler TS25 ( currently $1199) would be a lot better and cheaper then the AGM Global Vision Taipan TM15-384 (currently $1295) . Especially since the Rattler can be used as a stand alone monocular for scouting. Any comment on this HansETX ?

    I have watched your guys reviews and casts on the bering super hogster and the AGN ts25/25... what's your opinion on which is better? AGN cheaper, only been around I think since 2019 but I think the owners originally owned Armasite, which sold to Flir. After the two-year non-compete they started AGN. Bering been around since 2002 I think. I think the big difference would be the base magnification? is the super hogster worth the extra money? Whats the best bang for my buck if I wanted to spend around 2k? Is it worth the extra 1k to get the super hogster?

  • @LukeKwan78

    Im having some troubles with my rattler scope.
    There seems to be two methods of recording videos and pics.
    1. the scope directly saves them to internal memory.
    2. You can login into the wifi hotspot and view in realtime what scope sees. When doing so, you can record video and take photo that is saved to tvision app.
    My issue is with method one. How do i review these photos and video. Can i only see internally recorded pics/video when scope is directly to my computer? I see no way to access internal memory files on the tvision app!
    Method 2 during my testing, i was able to save a picture and video. The jepeg saves correctly into my photos app on my iphone 13. But any time i attempt to save a video, it appears like it is saving, but no video is saved to the photos app. Any ideas how to fix this?
    Third issues. When/how are you suppose to use the reticle vs trajectory? I believe the reticle function is what i use to zero the scope. But i have no idea how or when i should use the trajectory function
    It would like to have my zero at 23m, 50m, 75m, 100m, and 150m
    1. whenever i select one of the 5 distances. It reverts my desired reticle to option 1
    2. When using reticle my crosshairs is directly centered in the display, but when using trajectory, the crosshairs is now in the upper right quadrant on my display unless i push the zoom button.

    Good reviews! Here are my comments on the TS-25 which I have taken out twice for some night hunts. Overall, LOVE my first thermal scope:
    1. Agree with you.... For the price, you can't beat the TS-25. Sub $2000 and all the bells and whistles.
    2. The batteries. Man, they say 4.5 hours and that MIGHT be pushing it. Of course when I first got it I kept playing with it and may have kept it on that long over time without noticing. Anyway, started a hunt with the battery level showing "full" but that changed in about 45 min to an hour and it went dead. I had backups ready though.
    3. You are right about the menu. A little clunky. For some reason, my reticle is set to "green", but any time I power it off it goes back to "white", even though it says Green.
    4. The "sleep" function. I don't like that it is the same button as the power button. I have clumsily turned it off when trying to put it to sleep. Maybe I just need more practice.
    4. Recording video. I wish it had its own button to JUST record video, not a dual button for photos and video. Oh well. It DOES work though. Also allows you to use an app to record video and photos using the scope's network. Have not tried that yet but will be cool when my son is with me. He can see what is going on.
    5. The size is GREAT. Love that it isn't bulky.
    With all of that being said, I am a newbie night hunter so I feel there is a real learning curve. Getting used to what the world looks like through a thermal scope, identifying at longer distances etc. That may sound stupid but it is DEF different. I love the TS-25 and have you and Jason to thank for it. Had a sales guy at Superior Outfitters in Tyler tell me to check out AGM and you guys were the ones who helped me make the decision. Thanks again! Great review!

  • @imout671
    @imout671 2 года назад

    I'm totally new to this and want to try it. Surely you don't spend all night looking thru the scope so what do you look thru before you go to the scope? I'd be hunting hogs and coyote in Alabama brush so rarely shoot beyond 150 yards. (Budget is not a big deal I'm older and see poorer than I used to so better optics are what I need.)

    • @joshdenison3598
      @joshdenison3598 Год назад

      For coyotes you’d typically hunt areas you know they’re in. They like to howl more at night so buying a diaphragm howler or e caller would be the way to go to locate before you start calling

      We soured the corn in buckets with butter milk and water. Dug a posthole 3 ft deep and filled the hole to the top. They'll dig all the way down. Also, there's videos using kool-aid, yeast, and sugar.
