I installed this optic on a crossman 760 air rifle.I have now shot the riffle around 500 times during target/plinking practice, and the ruclips.net/user/postUgkxc4K63Fd5LglDMObu7-Bgapxp_ef0W8hE scope has done well. With this optic, I have neutralized around 30 pigeons that were invading one of my buildings. For my short range air rifle, I will continue to use this scope, but will be upgrading to a more powerful scope, when I buy a more powerful air rifle, in order to shoot at longer distance. For the money I have spent, this scope has truly been a great buy.
Wow fantastic run over the basics, wish id seen this a year ago puts all the important stuff in a quick vid with images showing the difference, awesome!
Very very helpful video mate. I'll give it a share over the weekend as there's some great information in it for those unsure which way to go with thermal.
Damn this guy is good! Great video. I agree with your early on statement that having a thermal spotter to detect, then switch over to your rifle that has a night vision scope. I have this configuration now, as in the past, I sold my night vision scope and bought a thermal. I thought it was a huge mistake, as night vision is superior at identification I found. I then sold my thermal, re-purchased a night vision and bought a thermal spotter for detection only.
Interesting comment. I’ve been thinking the same after watching thermal shooting videos, I’d rather spot with thermal then switch to nv when in range. What NV did you end up getting second time around?
"sometime a fox pop up in front of me and we both crapped ourselves" -- do you do stand up comedy as side hustle ? u r very funny. the information is clear and concise.
Thank you very much for your insightful information. I've been debating on what thermal monocular to buy for months. I now understand them much more now. I am setting a budget & then comparing what's in that bracket using your advice.
@@MrBHuntingDownUnder What do you think of a thermal monocular & a night vision rifle scope, say a Sightron Wraith HD for about 1.1K it seems much cheaper than having a thermal monocular & rifle scope. From what I can see unless you are using a 6-7K thermal scope the night vision image is much clearer as far as target identification goes. This setup seems to be what most fox shooters use in the UK. What are your thoughts?
@@philipmayers5785 Hi Philip, night vision scope and thermal spotter is definitely a combo I see a lot of. A lot of people can’t afford to drop the money on both and yes they can do a great final ID, I see a lot of torches being upgraded for greater viewing distance. Only downside I have seen, was flare up from grass and from the muzzle flash, goes white for a second after your shot. I can’t comment on the wraith as I have only used pulsar night vision stuff but it’s definitely a path worth exploring.
Great information! Only thing that would've made it better would be to display text when talking about statistics. Being totally new to this subject, I didn't know most of the acronyms you mentioned. Nevertheless, great primer, particularly helpful to see the effects the statistical differences make to the real world picture. Thanks!
This is a very informative video with excellent information. The only thing it left me curious about was in the footage of the units being used I would like to know the approximate distances shown in each clip and ambient temperature. I know it's all relative but I just want to have realistic expectations.
Hi Mike, I’d recommend visiting your local shop and seeing your options, bears being large means most will do the job so best decide on a budget, lucky for me we don’t have them over here!
Great video! Thanks! Does Pulsar axion xm30f will do the job for me? I'm not a hunter. I just want to watch animals in my countryside! Thanks one more time!
What’s the best handheld thermal monocular you recommend for around 1500$ give or take a few hundred . I want to beable to see people or animals in complete darkness from far away
Mr B, I am looking on getting either a Pulsar Axion 2 XG LRF or a Pulsar Helion 2 pro? $2000 difference between the two. Is the Helion a extra $2000 worth it? Have you used the new Pulsar Axion 2 XG yet?
Hey Werner, I am currently waiting for the Axion 2 LRF to come into stock so I haven't laid eyes on it yet, but the Helion will be better picture, but it also doesn't have a range finder, so you probably need to decide if you want a range finder, if so, then Axion, if not then how nice a picture do you want, and how much are you willing to spend? Both will do the job so this will be personal preference and a budget decision. Both are 2.5x base mag, axion is more compact if that matters to you.
@@empirecases4128 well this is Australia, I only hunt at night, google fox in Australia and then you’ll see why I need the advantage, it’s all I hunt, no interest in visiting a zoo, but once you have all the facts, come back and comment again
The most indirectly deceptive thing I've seen is with thermals that look like scopes and advertise high zoom. Correct me if I'm wrong, but there is NO thermal that has variable optical zoom.
I guess it's just ME (Anyone else have this problem?) but..........that heavy Aussie accent and fast-talking got me. Understood about 10% of what you said. Was looking forward to a super-informational video on thermal scopes/spotters but had to bow out early. Bummer.......!!!! (Maybe you can slow down your speech a bit.........Will give you a "Thumbs Up" as I'd bet the video was otherwise worth it).
Man, you should have a tad of regard to your not-mothertongue followers. We can take the accent - somehow - but your rate of words per second is pretty high. Never mind subtitles, they're speeding away as you strafe with no mercy. No offence, but I'd say that you might collect more followers if only you could slow down a bit.
Thanks for the feedback, I provided subtitles and you can slow me down in playback options if you like, it’s hard to get out a lot of information in a short period without making a 30 minute video, but I’ll consider making shorter slower videos in the future

For rabbits around the farm, what would you recommend for a 10 22? Budget maybe 2k if that.
Thanks... If you only added ATN thor 4....

Nice
What’s the difference with a thermal spotter and a thermal scope
@jayanderson9068 scope is on the rifle and spotter is handheld
What’s the best handheld thermal monocular you recommend for around 1500$ give or take a few hundred . I want to beable to see people or animals in complete darkness from far away
@jayanderson9068 check out pulsar and infiray, hikmicro as well, they will all see in complete darkness
Is there one you help see into blackberries?
To help I mean
Hey Justin, yeah it’ll help you see movement but it needs to be able to see the heat from the animal, can’t see through thick grass/dense bush etc
Is it worth going to a binocular spotter or are the monoculars fine. Would prefer one with a rangefinder.
Personal preference and budget, look at some of the newer monoculars with range finder, monoculars are really good and cheaper than binos
@@MrBHuntingDownUnder Thank you.
So....which one should I buy then....?....lol
The one that does the job for you lol
So what are a couple of good low budget ones for spotting wild pigs?
They will all spot them, difference will be correct ID and at what distance do you want it at
check out Pharos 3 by Conotech, super compact and lightweight in full metal waterproof body

$700 won’t get you into a decent thermal yet, keep saving
