LONG HAVE YOU WAITED!
Hey guys it's been too long! You've waited long enough. Here it is! My Ben Solo tribute. This one was my biggest challenge yet and it really took a toll on me, but it was worth it. I wanted to look at not only Ben Solo's life journey but to bring the Skywalker story to a close in a full circle kind of way. We look at the effects the Dark Side had on Ben and the Skywalker family and how much it really ate them from the inside until there was almost nothing left. Ben's life was ruled by resentment and trauma, and it was love that eventually brought him back to the light, just like Anakin. If you have been a fan since my Chosen One video, I think you will all appreciate the ending of this tribute very much :)
There are many surprise cameos and dialogue here that I'm really proud of putting together and most of it came from YOUR help so thank you! ALSO. THANK YOU FOR 100k! I couldn't have done it without each and every one of you. I will be taking a small hiatus and will return early next year to resume my work on the Ahsoka tribute. I have much to upgrade with my tech and software on my end and I need a mental break from the editing for a little while.

Ben Solo really should've been the main character. A reverse Anakin.
Not really reverse just sped up in one movie instead of anakin journey through a few movies
He was. I remember reading once that the main character is the one that goes through the most amount of change/development throughout the story.
And in the case of the ST, that's Ben.
@Benjamin - James agreed, they dropped all his narrative balls with Palpatine on purpose for Rey and it sucked. It should’ve been his victory in the end, not just saving her. But saving her was about them.

It’s poetic that Ben always aspired to become Vader, but eventually became what Anakin wished he could have become (saving someone from death)

The amount of people who honestly disliked the sequels but love this is great. It shows that even if you didn’t like how the story was shown by Disney you can still find some way to appreciate the story when it comes full circle.

It's funny, since the start he just traded one master for another. He was always a slave, from that one flying dude, to the Jedi order, to the Sith, he always had a master. Luke broke Anikin's cycle, but in the sequels Luke he became a slave to his own guilt. Ben was a slave to his legacy, what he was expected to be, and later the Sith, but in the end he broke free and ended the cycle by giving his life.

The way Adam Driver portrayed the complex character of Kylo Ren/Ben Solo was beautiful and intriguing to watch throughout the sequel trilogy. You could always feel his conflict, sorrow, and remorse.

I never saw the parallel of Rey stabbing Ben and Luke igniting his lightsaber over Ben as them both failing him in a moment of instinct. That really made it hurt even more. The whole part you edited with Ben seeing his father again and his redemption was SO well done. It was absolutely perfect and it made me like Ben Solo even more than I already do. Fantastic tribute that was well worth the wait!

He was the only well written character on the sequels, and the only character I enjoyed going through

One of the best characters in the franchise, with the greatest journey arc - Ben Solo is the true last Skywalker.

I remember how much heat asoka got when she was new.. now. She is a fan fav. Rey didn't get that time. Its the down side of movies is character development.
The moment Ben threw the light saber of kylo ren into the water I felt that. The build up to that moment and his pain, his suffering, all the expectations, all the things he had to learn by himself, all the love he never had, I love that beautiful editing

Yo when Ben was reunited with his family and broke down when he saw Leia... that got me. And then you put in Anakin reuniting with Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan and having Obi-Wan admitting he was wrong... Haven't had a good cry in a long time. The Force is truly with you, my friend. Such a great and fantastic job.

@@dariusrat6468 It’s not the actors faults! It’s what the story did to the OT characters, disregarding the prequel characters, destroying the lore of Star Wars, and underutilized it’s own characters. The rise of Skywalker is a disgrace to Return of the Jedi and the prequels. Palpatine returning invalidates Anakins redemption and the entire trilogy’s that came before. Characters fought and died trying to stop Palpatine and the empire only got Disney to be lazy and bring him back and have him be beaten by Rey. TRASH.
This makes the sequels look like masterpieces.
Kylo was the best part of the sequel trilogy imo. Amazing tribute!

Kylo is the best. And he wouldn't have been such an amazing character if he wasn't played by Adam Driver. He truly elevated that character by giving the best acting performance in all of Star Wars
The amount of emotion Adam Driver portrays is phenomenal; The angst, the frustration, the sadness of Kylo Ren really shines through him. I don’t like many things about the sequels, but Kylo Ren was the redeeming piece of it all.

HOLY SHIT THIS IS AMAZING. I can't imagine the hours... scrap that DAYS of hard work that went into this. the edits are insane. You hold the true emotional value of Star Wars and this represents all the potential the sequels could of had. The way you linked everything was genius. This was a work of art in itself. The Red Skull’s “sacrifice” line blended in so well that I almost forgot it was a line from the Avengers. However, the fact that you managed to blend in that and Marriage Story speaks volumes of how experienced you’ve become as an editor. This was my favorite piece of work you’ve done. I can’t wait to see what you do with Ahsoka’s story in the future.
I appreciate it man. The Marriage story bit seems to be hit and miss with everyone, but I’m glad you enjoyed it. I could’ve changed the color of his sweater to blend it in with the scene a bit more, but at the time I was worrying about other potential issues while the video exported. Since none of them popped up i uploaded the video as is, but didnt realize how many people shared the same thought on those clips. Luckily i went ahead and uploaded an updated version with those scenes fixed. Thank you for watching!

3:45 to 7:16 Is absolutely amazing. It gave me goosebumps, if only this was focused on anakin or luke I would feel like this is some of the best star wars editing i've seen but I do love kylo he is the best thing to come from the sequels

It was also about Ben. He was finally free as well (he also wanted to be a pilot).
This is, the greatest tribute I have ever seen, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is my favorite Star Wars character of all time, and this hit me right in the heart, it was beautiful, and it tied them all together perfectly, I truly hope we can see Ben Solo once again, in a flashback, or even in the future of the story somehow, but for now, we have this... and I could not be more grateful.

During these times of COVID there has been a darkness rising up inside of me. I am completely alone, I lost my job, and I am losing hope. Watching this cracked me open inside and all the pain poured out of me thru my eyes. It spoke to me in a deep way that knows my truth. Thank you. I will treasure it always.

@Brody Smith I agree! I hated that the “sky walker” saga ended with a non sky walker as the “hero”. I mean if they really needed the lead hero to be a female for pc reasons or whatever, they should’ve made Kylo’s character a female and centered the story around her. Still could’ve been Han and Leia’s kid, still could’ve turned to the dark side (kinda would’ve been cool to see a live action female sith) and had the redemption at the end and saved the galaxy and blah blah blah. I never understood why they had Rey as the main focal

Those last 3-4 minutes, man, powerful stuff. I sure do love Star Wars. All these new shows, and future films, I’m so thankful I get to experience them with my one year old son. I truly hope he loves Star Wars like me.
Ben was the only character worth watching these movies for, and looking at the character separate from the movies he's in is the best way to think about those movies imo.

Hero's Fan Productions...you have done what Disney could not. You made made every aspect of Kylo Ren much more like Anakin. His fall from grace, his rise for power and where he stands in the universe now that his family is gone. You've made him a character worth remembering and how he should have been treated the entire time. You've done more in twenty eight minutes than Disney did in five years. As much as I love Our Duty and Chosen One, this video right here will be what I remember this channel for...The heart, the commitment and the understanding of a masterful journey. You deserve the high praise and the tears that accumulate from this video.
Watching this video is a joy every time. It gives me goosebumps and I fight with the tears. The films, may follow a loose thread, where many say they do not fit together. That they ruined Star Wars, with their stories.
But your video, however, shows the exact opposite. It's as if everything runs into each other. Everything that has happened over the years is converging.
Your video gives the movies their voice back. What was going on in time, in the background. How the Force Spirits spoke to Ben and Rey. All the stuff we didn't get to see. It's almost like we're becoming a new version of the movies. Emotionally aligned with each other. Scenes, from different movies, that yet fit together more than we thought. Actions and thought processes of characters are re-lit and yet show much more.
Your video is one of my favorites. It shows, impressively and with the right words and images, how Ben became Kylo Ren. How his fight with himself went.
How he fulfilled the legacy of Anakin together with Rey. A Ben Solo movie that we will probably never get like this. But your video is a great consolation and gives you the feeling that despite everything, he is still there. Who knows what may still come.
A very strong video, which deserves my utmost respect.

Man this vid had me tearin up at the end. i tried holding it in but at the end i just couldnt. Firm handshakes to you and anyone else who helped put this together. Star wars was never about the story or the end, it was about the journey.

@@swe3t.dr3ams yes for sure! He is the main character Star Wars was always intended to be around. Anakin's rise, fall, and his redemption with the help of his son. Then, the sequels were about the grandchildren. I'd say the 2 main overall themes to Star Wars as a whole is family and redemption.

My journey started in 1977 as a 10 year old boy watching Star Wars every Saturday until they stop playing it. Star Wars is about friendship, adventure, love, and sacrifice. Thank you for making it about that again.

I love the sequels so much. I hope more people can see stuff like this and realize how awesome they are.
Everyone hated Anakin and Kylo, but they got the shaft through must of their lives. Constant manipulation from all sides. That's gotta be a tough thing to have to live with.

favourite part is definitely 18:28 to 19:30 I love how The Father says "release them" and The Chosen One, Anakin saying "You will let them go" And the start is really cool.

Kylo carried 7-9. He & he alone had the most character development. It’s a shame he went out, rather have had Rey.
When Leia passed it hit both in the movie & real life. Knowing she’s gone for good both in the movies & real life, it’ll forever be a crunch in the heart.
Well now that was amazing! Really quite spectacular especially after minute 13 or so when he becomes Ben again. Those edits bringing the spirits of the past Jedi that talked to Rey and helped in the final fight is amazing and now it's part of my head canon. Great job!
