The Fish is Sickle Pomfret (Taractichthys steindachneri)...a bit different to a Black Pomfret.
Sea mounds can have an efect on waves when the tide is changing. Clear sky and crazy sea's.

We know more about the galaxy than we do of our own oceans. There are probably still thousands of species we haven't found yet.
Sometimes the current will kite the line and keep it from reaching bottom. More lead man more lead.

Strick, there's adequate natural sodium (salt) in most fresh food. Ask any Aero Medical Examiner and they will tell you salt raises your blood pressure and it should be avoided.
You guys need try avocado oil instead of olive oil, adds a little sweetness. I do love my olive oil though

Mate not sure if anyone has let you know yet that the weird fish you captured isn’t a black pomfret. It’s a species called a Rays Bream. (Brama brama). If you search it in google you’ll see what I’m referring to. Good catch. Not a common line caught species.
These deep fish usually be very good eating, like Tilefish.

I always hear that barracuda aren't good eating but I quite enjoy it. A nice tomato based stew with beans, pork bones of you have 'em, when they're about done follow with whatever veg you have handy and a heavy hand with some herbs and toss the fish in as steaks once the beans are done. 10 minutes and you're eating as is or over rice. Yum!
I wouldn't risk a fish larger than the one you caught and wouldn't eat it more than every few weeks for the risk of cig. Is cig just that much higher load there? The poison is in the dose.
I understand that weeks on end on the boat means a lot less access to fruits and veg and this doesn't work when the fish IS the meal. I'm just meaning generally, I hear this all over.

Idk where I saw it but I saw that eating fish that had been sharked wasnt a good idea because they harbor some gnarly bacteria in their mouths/teeth. Dont know how true that is but it makes sense
