I just recently bought an Air compressor almost identical to this BSA one. It's off Amazon and about 150 usd cheaper. The quality is exceptionally good. Even the packaging for shipping. The only difference is the "power supply". It is not internal as the BSA compressor but it is a separate unit. Power supply works for both 110v and 220v or tou can hook the jumpers to a 12v car battery
      So far so good.

Good review, so bought one. It’s made in China and badged BSA. The review made light of the maintenance and said it was all covered in the information booklet! They aren’t simple and as far as easy to read and follow, I’ll let you know once they come back from Bletchley Park and the Enigma team have had a go at them!

I bought the BSA compressor back in Nov 2021 from Vector Air, I don't know what Andy had for breakfast before this video but I have the BSA badged compressor and there is no way I can lift it like he does here whilst sat down.
In use it took 2 mins to fill a Steyr LP series cylinder from empty and 6 mins for a FWB 800 Alu cylinder, also from empty.
Now if you deliberately/accidentally completely unscrew the bleed screw and then put it back in, 2 things will happen, one could be nasty in the worst case when you next run the compressor: 1. The cylinder if it has a gauge will show an increase in pressure and so will the compressors own gauge or 2. The cylinders gauge will happily indicate an increase in pressure, but what are the chances of you watching it and not watching the gauge on the compressor. Now here's the potential nasty result, Your not really paying proper attention with brain in gear, the gauge on the compressor is not showing any pressure.?Turn it off quckly, what has happened is that when you removed the bleed bolt/screw you didn't see a small ball bearing fall out, find the ball bearing and put it back in and the bleed screw.

Hi, for a large majority of PCP Airgunners these are really cost prohibitive, I use an Air Cylinder for most of my charging but I also use a high pressure five stage stirrup pump, normally I will shoot to 100bar then use the stirrup pump, it is not too hard work, just take your time and an added bonus is the exercise and a bit more cash to spend on maybe a new gun? Thanks for your informative productions.

Good review and interesting compressor. One thing, how is the air being dried before its inserted to the gun? We have seen airguns filled with a hand pump always and without good drying air materials these rifles got fully rusted inside. Today, many manufactures of airguns actually warn for this and also state that any issues (rust) due to moist air is not covered by warranty.

Sounds very much like my Benjamin Traveller v2, the 12v cables and hose are far better thought out on the BSA. This one might be slightly faster too. I fill my Kral Empire X from completely empty to 200 bar in about 12 minutes. Not sure about fill from normal use yet, only just started using it.
One thing to note, my compressor says to run the engine while pumping on 12v, it draws around 24 amps above 100 bar. Many on some forums suggest running the engine too.

This is a compressor I would keep in my truck but not being able to fill my 4-. 4500 psi carbon fiber tanks…yeah…I will keep my Yong Heng cheap compressor. 3 years and still going strong. Yes sir. Maintenance, oil changes, cooler filled with ice water, and the use of a fan keep the temperature below 104 degrees Fahrenheit. O-4500 psi on a 6.8 ltr tank takes 45 minutes nonstop but the temps don’t get above 104 even then. Topping off 4 tanks from 250 -300 bar only takes 15 minutes. The unit you showed us would be perfect for someone only filling a gun. I think I should get one for back up and field usage. What a great time to be into PCPs. Thanks for the heads up Andy. Cool product!

Thanks for this video. Right now i own a diana bandit pcp air pistol. 200 bar at 50cc. From 100 bar to 200 bar is about 30 pumps with the handpump, which can go to max 200 bar. With that i can do about 21 shots (3 magazines on the .22cal).
I am thinking about to buy the huben gk1, just because that one is regulated and you can tune it down to get less power, but more shots. (Shooting at 5 meter distance i don't need a lot of power, but it's fun for when I need / want more power for once). However, the huben can take 300bar, which is the fill pressure of a scuba tank. Meaning that after the first filling i cant get it to 300bar anymore and will probably need a compressor for that pistol. I also did the calculation between co2 cartridges and scuba tank fillings. I have to get more then 80 scuba tank fillings to even out on co2 cartridges 😅

Good review as always Andy, succinct and informative. I guess that the BSA unit you'd rate as better than the Nomad 2 and the SMK 30 in your pump review. Just as small and compact and far easier to use. @Slump SG below, I'm 74 and still use a hand pump, but then I only have the one pcp and it's only got a small cylinder and I can fill it easily in 10-15 mins of gentle pumping with a cup of tea between! BUT if I were ever tempted to get a compressor I think this would be the one :-)

I can’t decide between this and the nomad II. Decisions decisions.

Update. After a while my dealer came back with the news that the starter switch was faulty and sent me another pump. It all went to plan with this new one so full marks to my dealer as the previous pump came with a all working correctly, ticket attached. Well, all good now so I'm very pleased with my pump.

Who the heck built that cheap pump you mentioned? It sounds like something only an engineer could love.

It is rebadged from GX Pumps a CS3 pump and cheaper from GX or even Ebay / Amazon. It's not made in the UK by BSA at all.
