Another super guide. I glitched a 4gb trinity using your guide. Boot takes 10 secs vs my 1.2 RGH Jasper on 15 secs. Maybe the Jasper could be fine tuned more. But very happy with the result, was fun trying a slim and using another chip.

Once i though i had bought a damaged glitcher chip from Taubou from China,and now i found that i had mistaken on it. Though CR4 Muffin RGH2 method is not the latest and fatest one, this tutorial still demostrates its great value!

Just finished the video. One question about these items on the store: the matrix v1 has an option to have something preprogrammed. I've watched this video, but I'm not sure what to select here. The extra buck is worth a little less effort on my part, but this isn't really explained in this video.

Can you tell which programmer is better and why - XNAND or JR?
Also, I've seen MrMario do a Dual-NAND install, but I wonder if that is worth it for me - I don't intend to pay for XBox Live anyway, and I assume you can't play online without paying either xbox live or some fishy 3rd party "service", so a dual-NAND install would probably not have any benefit to me or?
I assume you can't even access your HDD-ripped games library when you run on the official Firmware, right? So only with physical disks, or can it access HDD games also? (sorry, never did anything with X360 before).
You know, I've done a handful of phats, but I have never got the "0x00000000 console not found" until trying to do a Trinity. I was looking at the thing under a microscope, tried a different programmer, resoldered 3 times, it's perfectly done... nothing.

im not sure what you're filming with but an exposure and focus lock would be really good to help with your videos. I know on the iPhone you just tap and hold on the point you want to focus on and it will lock on that. Thanks for the guide, just picked up a Trinity.

Great tutorial the best I seen ever, I got a question, I have a Matrix V3 do you have a diagram?, because I soldered but it does not turn on, I only hear a beep when I try to turn it on but it does not turn on the lights, I looked for diagrams for this glitcher but none of them has worked so far, thanks for your help.
Never worked with the Matrix V3 - assume it'd be the same as the V1
Possibly going to do srgh for a viper dual nand . But for future reference can you do Muffin with ace or should I do the Cr4 speed up method or srgh?
No muffin method using Ace exists that I'm aware of. If you're going to do a viper you need the Ace v3 and that would be an SRGH install.

I hear that you say you've been getting faulty ace v3 chips from recent manufacturing, would you say it is safe to buy the 2015 model as advertised on ebay or will they throw in the recently made ones as well?
In my experience, anything that is the newer "cafe" color (kinda brown tint to the PCBs) is sketchy. But photos on eBay are showing black, but then sending cafe color. So frankly- I don't have a good recommendation about where to buy good ones. I managed to talk my supplier into specifically finding old stock for me, and I bought all 200 of them they had. They'll be up on my site for sale in another week or two when they come in.
iv recently being trying to do this to my Trinity board console but I think I messed up the cpu_post pad as the solder wont stick anymore to it, I have all the other points soldered just this one was the issue. I tried a system boot earlier and it did boot and was working but of course im stuck at this stage

Ivan Garcia yes but you need to disable the oscillator by removing the resistor he pointed out if you have a trinity
I thought I had done everything correctly, the blue light is on on the glitch chip. The xbox boots up correctly but when I plug in my usb the xex menu doesn't show up in the demos folder. I made sure the file is located in the hidden content folder. I'm Lost any suggestions?
Quick Question. When I receive my Nand-X does it come with Glitch Chip programmer wire for Coolrunner rev c or Ace v3?
If you bought a NandX from me it comes with the "nandx to CR programming cable" that will let you use it to program any glitch chip.

my matrix v1 chip will not stay blue after connecting it to the JR Programmer. it blinks once after i connect it. I tried soldering the wires onto the chip and it didn't make a difference
I dont think it is the soldering theres no bridges and I've done quite a nice job I will check with a multimeter and compare voltage online, thankyou for the help
I'm read the nand, and got ready to program the Matrix V1 and got "device not found", looked down at the chip and the blue led faintly comes on for a millisecond each time I wiggle the header pins. Any advice?
Take a very close look at the matrix chip for any cold solder joints or things that look like they are disconnected or bridged/connected where they shouldn't be.

you can for nand reading and writing - however a matrix spi nand flasher generally can't program timing files to glitch chips.

My console takes around 10 minutes to boot, is the timing file you used THE timing file for this setup or does it very between device?
I sometimes flex the timing file up or down one, but rarely. For boot tuning I'd suggest that you try varying the length of your RST wire.

It's hard to produce quality tutorial videos during a live stream. If I ignore chat to just mod and explain I get flamed, but then if I engage with chat I catch heat for not "staying on topic". Frankly it's just easier to record and then I can edit. So... IDK, I like the live stream idea but haven't quite figured out how to get it "right". Maybe I should just do a weekly Q&A while playing some game.
The Q&A is not a bad idea! Btw I think in this one the music is a bit too loud, it's kinda distracting.

Hi, Ive successfully done my first RGH1.2 on my old Jasper Yesterday by using a coolrunner and jr programmer
however I also had a trinity console and matrix glitcher so i attempted to rgh it today using your guide and after following all your steps,
my problem is when i go to power the console on to get into XELL for the first time with the glitcher
i plug it in and i just see the blue led light up on the matrix before even powering on the console and when i did, the blue led just continued staying lit and didnt blink at all on the matrix so my xbox wont glitch
could you help me with any tips that i could try to fix this problem ?

Probably. Modshop (the creator of the Viper) is doing a development cycle right now so if and when he has more to sell I'll deffo consider carrying them, but for now I'm out.

I’m new at this, I ordered a matrix v3, I read in the comment that you should disable the crystal oscillators for a Trinity console, how do I do this and are there any other changes have to make? Are the timing files the same?
On the matrix product pages on my website there are images that show the resistor to remove to disable the crystal. The timing file is the one suggested in the video appropriate for your motherboard.

Hi there. I'm just about to start a Trinity 2010 mod using your above video. I have a J runnner V1 programmer and just found a brand new Coolrunner Rev C in my parts box. Following the above tutorial and swapping the A,B,C points on the coolrunner is that all I need to change? Are the timing files the same on a Rev C as the Matrix V1 you are using? Yes, just the point differences. Timing file is the same.

Hey man i recieved my stuff today, I made a mistake in not noting down the dashversion before installing the nand x, install shows it worked in j runner, do i need to desolder all the points again to boot the xbox to take note of the dash version? thanks alot
Once you read the nand you can tell the dash version from the CB values in JRunner. also - you can just disconnect the nandx from the wires and boot normally - the wires being in won't stop it from booting.
TheWeekendModder I went ahead not long after and read the nand. All up and running on my first go. Trinity boots between 10-45 seconds. Over the moon. All thanks to your videos bud. Tomorrow I'm doing a Jasper and I ordered a cool runner from eBay to do a falcon. Thanks alot man

I wouldn't bother with RGH1. RGH 1.2 gives you the same boot times and you don't have the freezing fussyness of RGH1. So update to current dash and then do RGH 1.2

Can anyone tell me where to get the timing files from? I've tried to access all of the sites recommended and they appear to be down, maybe my ISP, not sure. Had to download a load of utilities including J Runner from a google drive but cannot see the timing files in amongst them. Any help would be appreciated.

No, you cannot.
Why are there so many xbox 360 models anyway? What are the huge differences besides HDMI .
HDMI was added early in the launch phat model, so HDMI really isn't even a differentiator.
Windows 10(64 Bit) doesn't recognize my JR Programmer. I disabled driver signature enforcement but it is not recognized. I installed the drivers that came with JRnner 0.5 but no luck. Any tips on how to get it to work? it worked before, though. Thanks in advance.
After installing windows 7 i got the JRP to work. I then learned that it was stuck in bootloader mode. Reflashibg its firmware solved that. Next, i tried to follow your tutorial on your page (the pictures) for a muffin install on my trinity console with a CR Rev c. But the referencek images and explanations for the muffin method especially with the coolrunner are confusing as far as the wiring and soldering points for the coolrunner are concerned. Is there any addition infos on this?

Hi weekendmodder, is there a way to remove hacked firmware off a flashed DVD drive? Recently I un-jtagged my Jasper 256mb, it was originally on the blades and it is now, I already knew I wasn't able to use the DVD drive once I reflashed the original nand, but is there a way to remove the firmware? I un-jtagged it because I wanted it on the blades, yes I know I can't use any jtag programs or play newer games, but I have other consoles so I'm okay, I just want this jtaggable to be clean like it came out of the factory. Thank you. Oh and I get e69 when the DVD drive is plugged in.
The e69 tells me the DVD key in the drive probably doesn't match the motherboard. It is possible to re-write a drive's FW with retail. Do you know the DVD key for the console? Are you sure the drive matches?

My XBOX Trinity 4G is halt after XELL booted few seconds but I still have time to get CPU key and then follow the last step to write NAND. After I re-plug everything together, my xbox booted and showed logo normally just few seconds and it's halt again.

Now, my xbox looks like halt forever after can boot 3 times but I can still read/write NAND and write Matrix V1 Chip. Can I un RGH to origin XBOX? or Please suggest some
solutions for me.
You can always disconnect the glitch chip's power, and write back the original nanddump1.bin file to the nand and the console should behave as a normal retail. When you say "halt" you're saying it freezes? Did you follow the wire routing suggestions?
Yes, "halt" is mean freezes. The power button showed red light, the fan is stopped and it has sound beep every time when I touch the power button. If I want to write the original nanddump1.bin back, the Retail should be selected right and CPU key has to be blank or put in it? If you have time, please post the guideline how to turn RGH XBOX to the original. By the way thank you very much for responding.
Just load "nanddump1.bin" in the source box, the CPU key area can be blank - that's fine. Then click "write nand" and write it back to the console and disable the power to your glitch chip. Your console will be retail again then.
After I bought new Soldering Welding Iron(amzn.to/2wZAk08) and Magnifying Glass(amzn.to/2kdBKuS) to repeat your video guidelines. My XBOX is working now. I do not recommend who doesn't have good eyes and tools to do RGH because you will destroy xbox circuit board. By the way thank you very much #TheWeekendModder
I got a trinity dashboard 13146 and I have installed matrix v3 using your tutorial, but it doesn't boot xell. I have tried all the muffin files and nothing happens. I wondering if my dashboard is the problem, should I update my dashboard to 17511?? What do you think?
Yup. Update to current dash then restart your mod.

No, the CPU key must be known in order to build a new nand image. If you don't know the CPU key of a console, you can generally write the appropriate ECC file to it, boot Xell and get your CPU Key that way.
Thank you for the answer. The problem is that the console does not want to boot. I already got it RGH. I know what happened to it. The green LED lights up and nothing else. So I wanted to enter the original NAND to check the error code, because with the entered XELL show.

Sorry - no way for me to tell the cause based on that... If all you did was open and clean it I would double check all the wire connections thoroughly.

I have holes where all but 2 pads should be for the nand read and glitch chip.. the glitch chip side has no pads to solder to at all! what can I do?
I'm not that clear on what you are asking or stating. If your issue is just that on the Xbox motherboard the headers to solder the programmer for reading/writing are through-holes that is totally normal. They are through-holes on all the motherboards just often filled with solder. Use some flux and apply solder and it will fill the holes and you can build up a little pad of solder just like I do in the video.
Yes, that answers my question entirely. Thank you!! I just had so many through-holes on the right side header that it didn't seem right. After clearly watching you yolo the solder into the through-hole and it globbed over nicely I figured I could do the same. I wanted to go with the ace V3, is there any major difference between Matrix and Ace v3? This is my first RGH so I'm likely following this guide to a T either way.. Thank you again. You replied quicker than se7ensins whole freaking community -_-.
The Ace chips have had some quality control issues with the release of the brown tinted pcb "cafe" versions, but if you can get good ones where the PCB is black (I have some on my store) then the Ace install on a Trinity is just slightly better as far as boot times go, but it's just a slight advantage. The matrix v1 muffin Trinity install is a markedly easier install though.
functionally to the end result, there is no difference.
So definitely going with the matrix. Ordering from you because of the pre programming option which is a nice touch. The matrix is marginally more at other stores too.. I may just grab a nand x from you as well.. It's not a jrv2 but it'll do the trick.. Will this work for wire? That and I may do more of these seeing as so many people are retiring them now days. Its almost a waste of a console using it stock... Lol. Thanks again, man.
The Nand-X is a better device than a JRPv2, so deffo go with that. The only advantage the JRPV2 has is the "rater" functionality which only works with CR4 chips and RJTAG chips which no one has or uses these days.
How do you know if an Xbox s is a trinity or corona , the mfd is 2010-12-01 and the amps are 10,83
There will be something on the power box attached to the cord that will say either 12V---10,83A or 12V---9,86A. The 10,83A is the trinity and the 9,86A is the corona.
That's a good indicator, but I've found LOTS of mislabeled consoles. 10.83 labeled that turn out to be Coronas and lots of 9.86 labeled that turn out to be Trinity.

So hope you reply as I'm stumped on this one...been making rgh for a long time and normally can solve issues myself but....
Got a x360 ace v3 café legit version so no fake. Running on a corona v3 with post fix adaptor. When she's not in the case she boots really fast and I mean instant. But when I put her in the case she won't boot at all. I cannot for the life of me find a reason. Nothing touching metal case and shorting. She glitches the way she should and she's in a low interference part of the xbox. Now I did spend a good 5 hours Trying different timing files as the original was so unreliable when booting.
I'd check really, REALLY carefully around all my wires that route from topside to underside of the board. I've found that if a wire's insulation is going to fail that it normally happens there. Beyond that - it'd just be a guessing game mate. :-0
I'm going to try some more timing files while she has all the parts in as I can then find a good file that works with the pulse

I have a trinity Xbox 360 i wanting to put a mod chip in and im wanting to know can you run it without the disk drive installed? Im wanting to put all my games on an external hdd and hard wire it to the 360's usb and install it where the disk drive normally is.
Yes, you absolutely could run a modded 360 without a disc drive and play all the games from HDD.

What's the diffrence between rgh 2.0 ace v3 installs and muffin installs theweekendmodder
Ace V3 is technically "S-RGH" as released by 15432 and uses typical RGH2 style wiring. The "muffin" technique timings were also released by 15432 but they emulate the TX CR4 style wiring which uses the DB2G3 point and doesn't make use of E or F. Given the quality control issues that Ace V3's have had lately I'm leaning heavily toward the muffin installs using Matrix chips.
I'm kinda not liking the ace v3 installs aswell I always have problems with timing files
It's the quality of the recently mfr'd Ace chips. The older ones were the bomb-diggity and worked great!

A matrix can be used to do either a Corona or a trinity.

You've probably forgotten to disable the onboard crystal oscillator. You can't have both a crystal and connect the CLK point.

You need to read it literally says which one is for which console
With Crystal = for Coronas. Without crystal = for Phats and Trinities.

Ah, k. It's a standard 48mhz crystal. Never tried buying them solo so not sure where to send you for it. Mouser, digikey I guess? Usually they're spec'd by size - so you'll have to measure the pads on the chip to figure out what physical size you need.

at 19:00 in the image of the matrix v1 chip you're using for illustration I can see some components where the solder paste has not fully flowed during the smd reflow process. The MLCC capacitor above Vcc and to the left of the word SLIM looks bad. The one directly above RST towards the top of the image also looks half baked.
If you see this kind of thing its a good idea to add a little flux and reflow with a soldering iron. Dry joints like this will lead to anoying intermittent problems. Or worse components falling off the PCB.

@@TheWeekendModder thank You, with the tutorials that You made i was able to mod a fat jasper last week and now o bought a 4gb trinity mate black just for the kinect sensor with like 10$ it was only the console and the sensor and no power brick so i managed to power IT up with a PC powersupply and the console works great and the kinect also, so i will rgh this trinity to :)

That’s a somewhat good indicator but it’s not 100% I have seen quite a few miss labeled coronas
