You have fabulous demonstrations.. you are a great teacher.. but the resolution is so bad you cant really see the rocks properly.. which seems to defeat the great teaching video..
Hi I do this same Technic but I use a pallet knife. I love the way the rocks turn out. There so cool looking. I never tryed a card. I think I will now to see how it turns out. Thanks for sharing and happy painting 😊😎 FL.
Dear Mr. Edwards.. I learned so much from this video and will watch more... I attempted a lighthouse on rocks ... not pleased with the overall image but the rocks came out so good for a first time try ...
Love your style and own several of your videos. Thank you for sharing this. I became just a little disenchanted with the introduction. We already want to learn to paint rocks and most, I suspect, would not have to be 'sold' on the technique prior to your demo.
I loved the technique but the camera was focused more on the teacher than on the demonstration. I recently watched a video where light was directed specifically on one part of the painting, so you could tell how wet the paper was at all times. I never saw the instructor, just the demonstration. Just a suggestion.
Just wondering if you purposely blur the demos. Every video I have tried to watch of yours is slightly off enough that the painting is difficult to see. Number one I cannot see your face clearly and also the paintings behind you look amazing but blurred and thirdly it is difficult to see the lesson. I have learned so much from you but feel that I am missing out on the complete picture !!
You are easy to listen to but you need to watch your tutorial. 85% of the time we look at you, not the painting. You briefly show what you've done (at an angle that is sometimes hard to see) and then the camera goes on you for your lecture. 1.33 minutes into the video you gave an extended view of the painting but then the camera goes back onto you. You are probably very nice and a good painter but watch your video as a viewer and see if you don't agree with me. I hate to be critical but I am serious about learning and watch tutorials everyday. Please take this as a sincere critique not criticism. Sorry.
This guy talks, talk, his watercolour paintings are great but wish there was more painting that viewer can actually see, far more painting, less talking.
Watching again...I love your idea of
a credit card rock! So fun just listening to you!
Great tutorial - thank you - can't wait to try it!
I tried my first rock watching you and I am so excited, this has so far been the most rewarding practice I’ve done yet. Thank you
Your techniques give amazing results. I have learned so much from you.
Cool technique...gonna try it this morning!
Thank you for the best and most realistic rock scraping technique, Sterling Edwards. So helpful!
This the best lesson yet! 🐐
Yaaah! Really enjoyed your tutorials, thanks for including Canada even though we spell colour different !!
So cool! Going to try this fun technique!

You are a great teacher. I have improved so much in my landscapes. Thank you for the video.
Watching this video, I finally get it. Thank you for sharing this technique.
Thank you for the easy to follow tips. Just what I needed as I teach myself. I always knew I had some natural talent, but just starting to pursue it.

Wonderful work and teacher
Thank you. Just wonderful!!!
Love his style and his talent is amazing.
Wish We could see the whole rock part long enough to take a pic.
Please show the painting more...as we hear your instructions, thanks.
Excellent!!!
PLEASE CAN YOU TELL ME WHICH PALETTE YOU ARE USING? IS IT PORCELAIN AND DOES IT HAVE A LID??? THANKS FOR ANY INFO.
3:54 ❤
Loved the technique ! What paper do you use ?? I am afraid to damage the fibers on mine while scraping paint
I think he said Fabrianno Artistico! 140lbs.
The picture is very bad, but the lesson is very GOOD.
I would prefer that you would leave your camera on the painting longer, and maybe more of an overhead shot than an angle. Thank you for your video.

Thanks for the tip with the toilet tissue. Most useful.
Videos always a bit blurry
Just found you, great stuff, subbed
the resolution is simply way too low to get anything out of this video. Sadly since I really enjoy your style and your videos...
Omggg you’re awesome ty so much
🥰😍🤩❤👍
Very blurred. Such a pity as the technique is great.
it's very old video that has been reUploaded and compressed . I've seen this lesson almost 15 years ago
Why dont you point the camera on your paper? Very frustrating
