I am self taught (thanks to all of the wonderful free tutorials) and have painted 2-4 hrs. every day for over two years, I have probably painted 50 seascapes and tried numerous techniques, but I could never paint convincing waves until I used your technique. . And it was much less complicated than trying to do Z techniques or a tapering lines. Thank you so much for sharing your talent and time. Now to watch every video you have ever produced.
Thank you SO much for taking the time to make and share this tutorial with us. Some of us don’t always have access to art classes or if we are enrolled, we are at the mercy of our instructors and what they are willing to share. This tutorial is truly a gift! And much appreciated.
What a lovely seascape! Enjoyed each stroke of your flat brush. The commentary is superb. One understands each and every instructions very well. Thanks a lot for sharing..
You made this very doable for a semi-beginner! I was wanting to do a seascape yesterday, but didn’t think I could do it. You popped up in my feed this morning. I will definitely try this! Thank you!
Hi, i really enjoyed this video of the crashing waves. I have tried a time or two to paint a beach scene. Lots of info. In Al we have white sand, actually, it appears white. Keep up the good work.

Hey Sterling-YOU ROCK! I love this tutorial and can’t wait to try this. But Im having trouble with my ocean color and hoping u can help?! Currently on an island in North Atlantic and ocean color here is a “sea green” ha ha. I’ve had trouble replicating it … maybe obtainable by adding a touch of white gouache to a cool green, but then it’s not transparent. Trying to nail down the color before Return to Colorado soon and no ocean there of course, advice/suggestions would be so very much appreciated 🤗
I didnt get the name of the paint make you use. i am very impressed with your teaching methods. people alway want the basics and you do that so well. the only other problem I have is ther are so many paints with different names and properties. its confusing. the information on the tubes are not alway giving enough info.all they give is perminance.
