Sterling has taught me more in 3 videos than I’ve learned in watching countless hundreds of others. Simple, clear, straightforward instructions. He’s an excellent teacher and artist!

Excellent tutor. Really knows his stuff. If I may say, we could do with more camera on the painting (right way up too). I don’t need to be looking at the artist for 80% of the video, as handsome as he is.

Overworking has been my biggest challenge with watercolors. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve I kept playing and ruined a perfectly good painting! Restraint is a skill that I’ve not mastered yet. 😁

These are very well explained and equally important, shown how to achieve , techniques . Beautifully explained. So many say but never explain or show about how much water to have on brush or in paint. Or how to adjust these things and apply them. Being a beginner and having to guess and try to figure out how to with lesser information is frustrating and I've seen many people just give up on the medium. Your students are very lucky to have found you. It was chance your video came up on my feed. But I subscribed right away. Would have been really helpful nine months ago but better late than never.

Such a great Instructor and teaches you some more advanced concepts ( he doesn't insult your intelligence as a beginner)

I luv ur demos & learn a lot watching u - this video & the one about painting rocks w/cr card seem slightly out of focus. It really can't be watched full screen which makes it really out of focus. Its not my computer or screen because other videos are not having this problem. I just though you might want to know this. Thanks so much for putting ur videos/demos on RUclips for me to watch. U r soon talented & explain things very well. Your comments are just as valuable as the demo paintings.

Jewell Moebus I feel the same, it's all slightly out of focus. I'm sure others just haven't noticed or bothered to comment.

Love these videos, but have a question. I like to do alot of snow on the trees themselves. Does Stirling have a video on this? I usually use white gouache or believe it or not a, white out pen to make the branches look heavy with snow. Any suggestions?

It's a shame that the video quality is so poor. Reminds me of watching TV 40 years ago. Thx for sharing the great concepts!

    Quality of video too bad.
You have to focus the camera on the painting directly from above. Showing the artist face is not necessary.
Get a tripod/stand and mount the camera please.

Fix your resolution issues and you'll get some real subscriber numbers. As it is these are almost unwatchable but it's clear you know what you're doing and these tutorials would be amazing if the quality of the video wasn't so terrible.
