One thing which cannot be reiterated enough for new witches is to stay in the broom closet if telling people you're a Witch or Pagan would put you in danger. If coming out would mean verbal abuse, physical abuse, or being thrown out of your house, don't tell anyone.

I made that mistake recently. Now I have less than a week to find a new place to live. Not fun.
My parents would literally kill me, and the school I go to is very Christian (it’s not private but almost everyone is Christian) and they would probably do something very rash because they don’t understand it (they don’t understand being transgender even tho I have explained it hundreds of times)
I am out of the broom closet!!!! I went to the dollar tree with my mom and I said mom can I buy some candles she said, “you have so many candles at home why do u need more”? I said I am going to make an altar she said ok then I said I am interested in witchcraft and she was scared She said we only believe in one god I said it not what u think it’s more like meditation and herbs and nature and plants (Green witch) she said ok and put the candle in the basket but I was so embarrassed so I told her I didn’t want it we went to books million and I told her I wanted book on Green Witchcraft and she was really supportive and she also said she was sorry for making me cry and she said she knows a lot about Wicca from articles so I am out to her she is going to help me on my journey Blessed be🌱🧙🏼💕

I am very very new to The Craft and following Wicca. I’m the epitome of baby witch - but I’m stuck so far in the broom closet I don’t know if I can even dedicate myself to the Craft the way my heart is telling me to. I’m out to my best friend, who is very heavily Catholic - and she is the most supportive amazing human being I have ever had the honor of meeting on this earth. But, my family, my family is the problem.
I was raised extremely Christian - to the point where my Grandmother would not let me bring the Harry Potter books into her home when I was a child.
Since I’ve started deep diving into my research and turned my mind towards focusing on the Wicca way, I’ve already been cornered by my family. I looked up a book on Amazon and that same night my mother came into my room and screamed at me. I’m not even practicing fully yet, I’m too afraid to have even a hidden altar or create my book of shadows.
I feel so lost, but I know this is the life for me in my soul.
I’m in the same situation...i come from a suuuper religious background and I don’t feel like anyone in family would accept me. I haven’t told anyone :(
my dad is a priest,yet im a witch. i am a religious witch, so i still practice religion and use psalms and prayers in my spells, meditations, and other things like that. there is no wrong way to be a witch. there is also no wrong way to be a christian. just start out in the middle, and decide what you want. :) there is no rush to do things, and you arent lost, IM HERE TOO!!

My family is also EXTREAMLY Christian. and by that i mean all of my cousins (on my moms side) and my aunts and uncles (also on my moms side). the only people i feel comfortable with telling is my aunt jenny (on my dads side) and my siblings. Im so glad im not the only one who feels so lost. i hope that we, and all the others stuck in the broom closet soon get a sence of freedom.
My parents are strictly Christian, and if they ever knew, I’d be homeless, so this really helped me out.
Thank you so much for your video. I live in a highly Christian dominated area and alot of times I feel alone and sometimes even crazy because of the amount of time and focus I put Into my practice. I just needed more spirituality than the Christian faith offered to me. 37 yr female from north eastern US. Anyways thank you so much for your advice. It's so refreshing to see others who seriously practice the same faith.

For my book of shadows, I always have my phone so I made a huge google doc and designed it with online altars and candle gifs. It's beautiful and I tend to get frustrated with organizing and working on physical books. I'd really reccomend trying it!

Broom closet witchery is something that I definitely know about, I was educated at a catholic girls boarding school, there was no witching there (although my mother used to say ‘just hide it from the nuns’)
Broom closet for 2 years now . This video really helped me 💞 ı am thankful
here because i was lighting incense and my mom told me that i better not to witchcraft in her house. i’ve been a witch since the 8th grade (i’m in the 10th grade now) and i don’t plan on telling my family. my family has always been very catholic, so it’s hard coming out of the broom closet. i have a lot of fear, i can only practice late at night really. it sucks :(
I know it’s a month late but maybe tell her you only have incense because it smells nice? Use little excuses like crystals are pretty room decor and candles or incense make your room smell nicer
Lmfao i have a whole altar on my desk and my mom doesnt know its for witchcraft i just said i like the way it looks i told her that i saw it in a tv show and i wanted to make it and she belived me lol.

I didn't even think of making an altar in a notebook! I might try that out over the summer and see how that goes.
What i did was make a mini "travel" altar with a wooden box i got from the dollar tree, as well as small bottles.
I swear I am going crazy... I didn’t subscribe to this channel and I had never heard of it before but when I decided o wanted to learn Wicca I found this in my subscription list

I used to be a atheist but witch craft just resonates with me. It makes me feel a certain way.

I wanna say my story...
My mother is very spiritual and accepts witch craft! My whole family is very catholic, its been 3 or 2 months from i started my journey. I’m so tried of hiding everything but my dad is so VIOLENT and mentally abusive. I’m only in 7th grade. I cant wait until collage. I want my freedom i want my own altar. I dont want to hide my things until my dad leaves...

I'm watching this as a witch who is very open my family knows, my friends know and my teacher knows, it is really nice having supportive family but not everyone has that, when I was a closet witch I had a drawer that was covered up i just had a piece of dried coral, crystals from garage sales, a homemade pendulum and board, a wand i made from a pencil, kitchen herbs and small jars from the dollar tree

I wish I could be out of the broom closet. I can't aleeviate their fears. They think Tarot and Oracle is bad and will bring a bad entity in. Which its highly unlikely that'll happen. I'm able to do Tarot and Oracle digitally and able to do most of my Witchcraft virtually. I just wish I had my own place so I can practice freely.
I've been with my boyfriend for 4½ years, he knows a little about what I do but I've *never* practiced in front of him 😅 I know he'd never discourage or judge me for it, but he's a biochemist, everything boils down to science for him and for some reason that keeps me from being fully open about it. I know its 100% all in my head, I just don't know how to be like "oh, I'm burning the cedar incense because I was meditating and using the rose incense to place protection on your car keys" without feeling like he thinks I'm crazy 😅

Theirs also another RUclips witch named witch dark tales, she sometimes goes by the name moon witch. She actually went to a gay bar and told some of the people there that she's a witch, and they were actually really nice and accepting towards her

How do I know which gods and goddesses to follow? Just watched the Baby witch video, Wiccan paths and setting up my BoS.

A lot of times, people feel called to certain gods and goddesses after researching different pantheons. Be patient. It can also change through your life based on whatever phase of life you are in.
Personally I don’t follow any gods goddesses or deity’s I don’t think it’s a requirement maybe for Wicca or paganism I’m not sure on that subject but I’m an eclectic witch so I definitely feel connected to nature and the spirits and energy’s of life and beings but I don’t feel like my power is channeled through a deity it comes through the energy’s of nature and life itself hope this gives you another point of view 💚💚

Crafty Lottie I’m also just beginning my journey. I’m looking more into paganism in general not Wicca just for personal reasons. I’ve just been working a lot on patience and reminding myself that I’m on a lifelong journey and I’ve got so much time to learn there’s no sense in overwhelming myself right now. I live with my very very strictly devotee Christian grandmother who would keel over and due if she found out I was learning to be a witch Ive just done energy mediation and she freaked out when she caught me😅
Oh noo! Totally understandable! A lot of practices can easily be passed off as Christian as western Christianity has used a lot of Pagan aspects so meditation could be passed off as prayer, lighting a candle is in essence the same, having an altar can even be merged with some Christian elements, and a lot of folk practices include Christian ideas and for example the use of saints or angels etc - it might help if you are looking for a few things to appease your Grandma 🤍
I have a questions for you. I used to be active with a group that was more private, but do to Covid and wanting to do community outreach, the group now records all their rituals. I used to be part of a coven in another state when I worked freelance on my own but now I have a more conservative job where I could lose it if I was outed. Because of this, I don’t feel I can completely help out or be engrossed in ritual, but stand at the sidelines, since all the videos are put up online. My coven out of state used to be in a larger, liberal anonymous city but where the group meets is pretty small and everyone seems to know each other. I wanted to study more with the group leader’s school, but that would mean being part of ritual and being recorded. I don’t think they understand though putting videos up makes it more inclusive for some to see it like the differently abled, it basically closes out pagans like me who face consequences of coming out. Any advice on how I could be more active with the group and try to express that the camera ready aspect of the group freaks me out and takes me out of ritual? It makes me more of a spectator than participant which is more like other faiths when my city coven was very hands on. Rituals felt like part of all of us. I would also like to lead rituals and would have the group leader’s blessing, but how do I stress I don’t want it recorded? I just think some things should be mysterious and private, yet I feel this new group is very extroverted and out there in the community. There was talk of putting cameras in the back rooms of the pagan store they run too. Why all the cameras? It really takes me out of a meditative magical state. In contrast, my first tradition was private though we did have a store. I guess Facebook has made everything so public, where years ago, you would use WitchVox or websites only pagans really knew about. It just makes me really uneasy and I am unsure how to approach the subject with this new group. I was with them for two years before they started recording everything so I enjoyed a lot of their rituals in a way I can’t now. :/

You don't have to follow any religion to practice witchcraft! Just make sure that you don't do anything against your religion, i recommend looking up guides.
What is the word you say at the end of your videos and what does it mean? 💖
I always say ‘Blessed Be’ which is a common phrase in Wicca and other paths 😁

I’m a baby witch I’m drawn to witchcraft I was wondering if I have to have a cat to be a witch? since I only have dogs and usually people think all witches have cats.
You don't! Many witches are drawn to cats, and cats often seem to have a fair amount of spiritual energy, however a cat is definately not a requirement!

I'm a witch and just so happen to have six cats and like 20 snakes.... But you definitely don't need any pets to be a witch!
i'm very deep in my broom closet, my parents are cristhian and do not support the craft they also know nothing about it so i can basically do most things without getting caught. i'm afraid, they have explicitly said that they're against it. idk what they would do to me if they knew.

i usually put it on my windowsill and it works just fine then collect and hide it immediately after. if you wanna put the water outside i like to just sneak out and put it somewhere theyd never look :)
i’m late but if you still are wondering, what has been working for me is to put water in one of those disposable plastic bottles and leave it outside and say i forgot it out there or put it never to the garbage can and pretend that someone tried to throw it in and missed. hope this helps!

Yeah you could! It's a bit different, not being physical. You can make it a whole place if you want, but what I've read you might want to make it quite small for conviniece sake

I'm the only witch in my family, it isn't tolerated. I was raised old southern Baptist. My grandfather was a pastor. My family members are very nasty and judgemental. We have only a few that turned away from it and are atheist.
