  • Today I am very excited to share with you the new format I've been working on - there is certainly a learning curve that is needed here but I'm ready for the challenge. In this video I wanted to craft something to help cleanse the negativity from my space as well as add in a bit of calm and loving energies - all while making it safe for animals and accessible to those in the broom closet, living in cities, or unable to use other traditional means of cleansing a space! And oh boy am I very very very happy with how they came out!

I'm not even a tiny bit witchy, but I might try this. I'm big on flinging windows open and cleaning everything or spraying perfume to make a stale room or bad day improve, and I love that these don't require smoke so won't cling to clothes or furniture (or lungs, ha). Reading that back, I might be a tiny bit witchy after all, oops.

Good tips. When I make room sprays, I add a little alcohol (witch-hazel, vodka, or the appropriate herbal tincture) to hopefully make it keep a little longer, because a plain herbal infusion can kinda spoil. Don't you think? But I really loved how you explained the energies. Good video!

My favorite thing about dogs is that it’s easy to tell how they feel about something if you open yourself to them. Whenever I want to try an essential oil that I’ve never used around my dogs, I usually hold the open bottle near them. Not right under their noses, but near enough that they’ll be able to smell it with their super doggie noses. If they are curious and want to take a sniff, I’ll let them while making sure they can’t get any oil on their noses by holding my hand in the way. If they start sneezing or making faces, they probably don’t like it and I won’t diffuse it. I’ve never tried using essential oils on my dogs, but my super hyper German mutt enjoys a lavender oil infused dog shampoo that I get at the pet store. I use a similar tactic on my fiancé. I’ll put a single drop of oil on my hair and see if he notices. Sometimes he gets a single whiff and has a big reaction and sometimes he doesn’t even seem to notice. Between the dogs and the boy, there are a lot of opinions to consider! Hope this helps :)

Hazel seems to be just letting you know that she feels it to and wants to show her supports with hugs and kisses. And yes city living all those other peoples energy all around you (some apartments literally above beside below) all the time collecting in buildings and such without nature to naturally cleansing it to as sensitive person can easily be felt and draining.

one of the ways i keep my space "clean" in energy wise is using black tourmaline and selenite by all entrance to the room. like my bedroom has a selenite by each door and window. kinda cleanse the energy before going into my room and a black tourmaline by my lappy. it helps.

I am so thankful for this video and your channel. I was raised in a Christian household. My mom and dad are very accepting us and try their best to be open minded about things. My three sisters are bi and pan and my parents love them. Even if they say a few things that are a little offensive. They were raised in a very different church than what is now acceptable today. What were considered sins then are not as hated now. My sister started getting into shifting realities (personally I am not a believer in that. I believe they are simply vivid dreams. Especially after my experience of attempting to shift) but my mom was terrified of it and said it sounded demonic and witchcraft. That made me very scared. Given the fact I had been keeping hidden the fact I am a witch. So for 3 1/2 years I have been secretly admiring witchcraft from afar. Growing plants, doing moonwater, and using crystals. Nothing obvious. So thank you so much from one very scared witch in the broom closet.

    • @facelessdrone
      @facelessdrone 2 года назад +2

"Reality shifting" is something that started when a tiktoker found a lucid dreaming tutorial and changed the name because things that garner clicks gets money, im not even kidding, thats literally what it is, lucid dreaming...and also its worrying to me that if you go into the comments of a lot of those videos actual clinical psychologists and people who have struggled with mental illness advise against it strongly because it can lead to a habit of maladaptive daydreaming and worsen psychosis, if I were you, id strongly disencourage that kind of stuff, it can cause genuine harm to your mind if you lucid dream to often, and as someone who has seen what it does first hand to people my age, and someone who has,, in the past struggled with dissociation, its fucking awful, its starts small and slow,, but it makes a huge dent on your life,, they start believing that imaginary friends are real and that the slightest thing is "their cross dimensional soulmate contacting them" even if its just a simple coincidence, or is something that is actually witchy, they just misinterpreted it because they are so disconnected from their mind and spirit. Please step in, don't let them make the same mistakes I did, Its one of the worst things you can do for your mental health, its like a drug, only you dont realize its bad for you until its nearly too late, because the symptoms are purely psychological and not physical.

Constructive criticism... I can’t think of anything! I even watched through twice, and I just enjoyed it all! Your talking head has beautiful lighting from the window, it makes your eyes look especially bright and clear. The B-roll is all beautiful as always- if you have done color correction, it’s seamless and natural looking. Also those amber glass bottles look beautiful in the shots, they contrast in a lovely way against the green shades in the plants, and the copper kettle has the same effect.
I am a fan of your framing in general, but I think my favorite shot-framing you’ve done recently (on this channel) is one where you had tons of baby’s breath around you, from foreground to background... I believe it was a Q&A... there’s something about having a little something in the shot in the foreground that’s out of focus that adds depth, although I’m sure that it takes longer to set up! 😂 Although I like that depth of field effect in framing, I definitely wouldn’t use it all the time - the background of your talking head in this video is beautiful!
And Hazel ❤️ maybe more Hazel 😂

Wanted to chime in on the safety for dogs part. I don't have a simple answer, but what I have done when I have questions similar about pets is ask a holistic veterinarian. We have one that we use for acupuncture when our dogs needed and it she was super helpful with any kinds of questions like this. I'm sure not everyone has one of these kinds of vets around them, but where you live I imagine has at least one somewhere nearby. :)

I do something similar at my house for cleansing☺️ I use lemon (sometimes lime or orange), sage bc it’s grows where I am so I feel it connects me to the earth, and thyme. I also like to add in any flowers or seeds I have in my stores bc I like to “plant new ideas”. I’ve never thought of using them in the way of filling my empty space after cleansing, such a cool way to look at it bc I totally agree!

And I love that you leave the recipe open for personal interpretation. My kitchen is my sacred space and the energy has been heavy and murky lately, so I think I will do a simmer pot. And I like that you included herbs to fill the space with the energy you desire to have. I am going to get started right away this morning and see if I can get some murky energy cleared and fresh loving joy brought in.

I have always cleansed my place and others places just using white light and sometimes my favourite incense it really doesn't matter what type you use just as long as you like itit works. some of the common things I have seen when people are cleansing their homes is that they go by what others say instead of doing what they truly believe. One of the biggest things is sometimes that they dont have the doors or windows open so that energy can leave , then they wonder why it comes back so quickly , I tell them its like sweeping a dusty home and so you spend all that time sweeping into a pile in the centre of the room but don't pick up the dust and over time the dust spreads out again hehe .
I have never tried using these types of methods, so I think this is cool and since I have lavender growing on my bachler suit balcony and rose is outside around the building I will be picking and drying the rose I already have some lavender dried. as for essential oils, I am not sure about them oil and some have alcohol, not really sure about that.
I wonder if I actually need to dry the rose

I'm learning earthy witchcraft too, but I have two pet rats with sensitive sniffers just like Hazel, so watching things like this with pets in mind help me to come up with ideas to cleanse spaces without making my rats' noses hurt. They seem to like diluted flower oils like lavender or chamomile and love eating flower petals, so I think I might try your spray method with some simple flower teas. You can begin the day and end the day with such, since we may leave our homes and we bring with us the outside and also if we have visitors especially if they are not our loved ones such as maintenance people & such. This should also be taken into other spaces such as our vehicles, basements, garages & all exits & entry ways. I think rosemary and sea salt are good staples to keep on hand can generally be found in our spice cabinets & in a pinch you can pull together a nice room spray with those items as well. Thank you for all this, I look forward to more videos. Be well.

Note: oil and water do not mix no matter how hard you shake. To disperse the EOs safely, combine them with grain alcohol (like Everclear) that will be at least 1/4 of the total liquid. Allow to meld several hours to overnight. Then add distilled water. For instance, if the total liquid is 4 oz, then use at least 1 oz of grain alcohol.

I got a couple of ideas from this video for different ingredients -- I really like the way you made the spray to not just create a vacant energy space but to also fill that space with the energy/energies of your choosing, rather than whatever happens to be wandering by as the cleansing takes effect. The format is great; it's almost like hanging out with you and getting a private lesson in herb-based magick. (I also had a good chuckle at your expression when Hazel began drinking in the background.)

I really like you're new style of filming and think that it really suits you. You're doing amazing and try your best not to worry yourself about whether the changes you are making are the right ones or not. If this is what feels best to you I hope you continue making videos in this format! Much love

This is a wonderful video as always, Thank-you for sharing. The only thing I suggest for some people like myself that don't remember much is to label your creations with what's in them & what it's for. Same with herbs in jars in the collection, that also helps any friends or visitors interested in what it is that's sitting on the shelf, encouraging questions & curiosity but also safety if you're not the only one in the house. I also make sprays, sometimes as a car freshener for a nicer drive to/from work.

I love the format of this video!!! I love you and all the content you make! I feel like sometimes you get caught up on the label of what kind of video it is, and perhaps that’s necessary for the success of it, but I also feel like your content is always wonderful, whatever the format, so just do what feels right to you! Love to both you and sweet Hazel 💜🌙

I would recommend Plant Therapy for essential oil information. All of their EO's are labeled with who are safe from or not safe from. Just a huge note none are safe with cats because cats lack an enzyme to ride the oils from their system. You can do passive diffusion with a cat or hydrosols only. Please check them out if you are wanting to use EO's. They really do a great job with their oils in either singles or in their blends. These are interesting but will need to stick with the infused version due to my feline roomies :). Thank you for the recipes.

Thank you for this video ❣️ I think all of us are feeling a little off this summer, between the external human happenings, the extreme temperatures, droughts, floods and wildfire smoke any interruption in personal lives sends us/me into a suffocated mess. My husband is asthmatic so I can't burn the sage/rose bundles I dried last year, so this spray (especially the infusion) will be less harmful. Thank you and Blessed 🐝

Beautiful combination of herbs, I love it! Very relaxing and calming video, I love your voice!...Just for the water when making the essential oil spray, try not to use tap water, instead you can use filtered water, ideally distilled water. I hope this advice helps!

I can't tell you if Annie sees that the same, but I once heard Olivia (The Witch of Wonderlust) talk about, that statements like that feel very rude to her. She said that it's intrusive and that viewers are in no place to assume anything about a creators mental health unless they specifically talk about it.
I do believe that you have good intentions, but maybe ask "How are you?" or "is everything alright?" instead, because she can actually give a response to that. 😉

@@alchemyofspirit Hey, no problem. I think we as viewers sometimes can't comprehend what it's like to get thousands of comments on all aspects of life. I was glad that Olivia was honest and said that it made her uncomfortable. That makes it easier to write nice or interesting comments for the viewers who care about the creator.

I have the same issue with my animals. I have small pets in my home space. So I refuse to using any burning methods for cleansing. I do love essential oils, however again I will not use them in the same space of the home as my small pets. If I am using anything that is too potent I usually move into my bathroom to make sure my pets don't come into any contact with the 'smell'. I am still figuring out a the best way to 'cleanse' in a way that won't kill off my small pets. I love my craft but I love my fur babies more. 😍

I just (like moments ago) started a Broom Closet Witches club on clubhouse if any adult witches are interested in connecting on there. 😊 All witches welcome--the rooms in there will just be private to keep professional and spiritual connections on there separate. I hope it's ok to post about this here--if not, please delete! I just love the vibe of Annie's channel so hoped to connect with like-minded witches.

Lovely video, thank you! You and your practice are very relaxing to watch and listen to. I prefer the infusion method with the herbs. I do this method with various herbs, a little salt, and moon water. Thank x100 million for bringing awareness about the use of essential oils around pets (young children too). I enjoy and use essential oils in some of my blends, but am careful how and where I use them. Thank you for sharing your practices!
