- Hollywood star Damian Lewis, renowned for hit series like Homeland and Billions, once embarked on a journey across Europe with nothing but a tent, a guitar and a dream of becoming the next Elvis. Now, after decades of silver screen success and a tough couple of years that reminded him ‘life’s too short’, he’s revisiting his childhood rockstar dreams. He is a fantastic actor. I have the complete "Band of Brothers" series on DVD, and I've watched it more times than I am able to recall. If you are able to get access to the complete series, I highly recommend you watch it. It's a truly excellent production.
I first saw him in the late 90's in "Warriers" a BBC 2 part series set during the Bosnian war. He, along with many young talented actors who went on to have international careers, play soldiers in a UN Peacekeeping force. It not only shows the demands and constraints of their role in the conflict but how it impacts their lives back home. It remains one of the best productions I have seen, superbly directed, amazing cinematography and sublime acting by all the cast. Not an easy watch, but it will leave a profound impression on you.
@@baileysmyman Funnily enough my driving instructor was an advisor for that series, having served in Bosnia.
Brilliant series.
Captain Winters. Band of Brothers 👍🏾❤
Said like a man who had the choice to do what you love.
Damien is great, hope he is truly happy after what he's been through, sometimes we don't have that choice though sadly. Glad he got it.
Helen would love this for sure....Wow, just how much does their daughter look like her Mum.
yes, it definitely like her
Great to see him happy and doing something he so obviously loves. Brilliant actor in so many productions, but he will forever be Soames Forsyte to me.
He’s in incredible in Billions
Helen mccrory was a brilliant actress so sad for her and Damian and family
First saw him in an episode of Hercule Poirot, he was super young in that
Damian Lewis is a mad man. Great actor. A face for the job.
What a lovely accent he has! ❤
❤ him so down to earth
I’m off to see him in Poole on Monday! Loved him in Band of Brothers!
The first time I saw him was In a touch of frost. I knew he would go far there was something about him that told me that. Very talented actor and he seems very down to earth. Just love him.
Great to see him going in this direction and being able to share his talent in a different way. ❤❤❤
The legendary Captain Winters.
Lovely how amazing to have duel talent 😮
While I agree with the sentiment, it often comes down to if you have the money to do what you love.
Fascinating how he said he busked as if he was struggling. This guy comes from a very wealthy St John’s Wood stock broker family! His brother was Lord Mayor of London for goodness sake!
He didn’t say he was busking like he was struggling, he said he busked which is just normal.
Ben went to a private school and Cat to a grammar school so a good reflection of their viewership
Didn’t say it as if he was struggling what are you talking about.
But that is the interpretation.
@@MrDavey2010 that's YOUR interpretation and I'm sure there are others where that's also THEIR interpretation. That's where your problem is. You interpretated what he said into something you wanted it to be.
Damian is a fine British actor. Lovely to see him moving forward and reinventing …because he can do that so superbly in his acting roles. 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ
He is great actor could he be and play James Bond ❤😂🎉😢😮😅
doesnt even look like hes aged one year since BoB
First blown away by Damian Lewis as dour character Soames years ago … to Homeland … all the way forward to a full-on Billions fan. Now strange to hear his natural accent - got so used to his Bobby Axelrod accent 😂
Loved him as the character Soames. . . actually hated Soames, but by hating that character it proved what a fantastic actor he is. 🥰
@@alisongrubb8159 exactly!
I LOVED him as Soames he was amazing and I hated and loved him in equal measures
Brilliant actor. So if he sings as good as he can act 🎉
Billons legend series
❤
❤
His personality IRL is so different than his roles. I'll watch anything he's in.
Anyone know where you can find that Leather jacket..love the style of it...can GM ask Damien?
Although an admirable sentiment doing what you love is really something restricted to people with real talent and people who've actually found what they love.Unfortunately most people don't really love anything and if they do they don't really have the talent to be able to make a living from it or have enough money to take a break from their work to pursue a passion project.
yeah this is reality
Not everyone is able to follow the path they would like for many reasons. I always think there is an element of luck involved for many people especially in show business.
Financial burdens too. Why quit a full time job as an electrician to pursue a job that pays you an average of £500 a month for the next 2 years. I like Damian but he’s a very well off, privately educated person who could afford such luxuries.
It's not even about having "real talent" -- it's about: someone needs to fill the pothole in front of Damian's home, and it's not going to be Damian. Society would cease to function if we all just did "what we love."
I love playing golf - but I ain’t gonna be on the PGA tour!
Salute Major Winters!
Mark Antony .. for Brutus is an honerable man ... never underestimate a Shakespearean actor
Whatever you say, Major Winters.
Please don't call him a "Hollywood star." He's better than that. He's a british actor. Who happens to do some american projects.
You’re absolutely right.
Hollywood Star and British actor or actress is two different things and not related to each other. You can British and work on American projects. The same as Emily Blunt or Tom Hardy, Chrlie Hunnam do. They are all British actors and at the same time Hollywood Stars, because their main filming industry is in US. Also Hollywood is known for filming production studios, that’s why it’s always referred to Hollywood. Britain doesn’t have this sort of meaning. Nobody says, he or she is a Pinewood or Leicester Square star.
It’s not that deep
There are many fine American actors. Get over yourself. Acting is an international business.
And please don’t call him a musician. The guy can’t sing
This man is a brilliant Actor, not a “Star” he is better than that 👍👋
Had no idea the geezer’s a Brit 😂 accent throws me after watching him as bobby axelrod
First time I’ve experienced Cat Deeley. Not sure….
Haha! I had no idea this guy was a Brit. 😅
Axe really grew a beard
Captain Winters.
It’s been 10 years since i found out but I’m Still tripping Major Winters is British
Will he be the good material for the next Bond?
I didn’t recognise Cat Deeley lovely lady but hasn’t her face changed dramatically?
I’m guessing your face has changed some since she was last on your tv screen?
it's called the aging process...she's in her late 40s...
Unfortunately so many in the public eye go overboard with surgery, so the public gets used to this. I have no problem with plastic surgery. But it’s so pervasive that people end up being unkind when it’s what happens to us all.
thats a thing called age
I hadn't seen her for years and I am very pleasantly surprised. I applaud her for being real not one of the millions who paint their faces to look like Katy Perry clones every day
Is that accent real?
Yep. He’s a Pom, not a yank.
Na but my bank balance is 😂
He’s giving me Eddie Izzard vibes
You looking in the mirror perhaps?
His version of the national anthem was the worse / funniest I’ve ever heard.
So good that his real accent sounds fake. 😮
Cat and Ben look so fake laughing it looks over the top
Cat goes completely over the top
She clearly fancies Damian Lewis. She’s flirting with him.
Why not? He is available!
Most overrated actor ever!!!! He’s got nothing about him utterly baffled by his success
You I’m glad to say are in the minority…..
He's a very talented actor - sadly not such a talented singer.
