‘Billions’ Star Damian Lewis Shares Why He Was Shaking Before Meeting Steven Spielberg | Sunday TODAY
No matter what role he plays, he'll always be Major Winters.
Forever ❤️ Brody (Homeland).
Bobby Axelrod
for me , it's forever Bobby Axelrod
no, he'll always be Lt. Winters.
I can’t see him as anything else.
Bobby Axelrod is an amazing character. Lewis has a lot of talent!
he should be the next James Bond instead he will be playing Toronto crack Mayor Rob Ford lol
Sam195 amazing idea i would like him as the next 007
Best show on TV next to Breaking Bad!
You know the character was inspired by real life Steve Cohen?
Great writing, classic phrases, love Wags !
Playing billionaire suits him more than other roles.
He's a great actor. I've not been witness to him playing a character poorly.
Did you see him in band of brothers. Incredible
I liked him a lot as a Russian hitman. Axelrod should really get more of a killed instinct in s04.
Yeah he nails it
Damien Lewis can play any role. He is so good.
Loved Damian Lewis since Band of Brothers...an extremely gifted but underrated actor. Hope Billionaire gives him the wider recognition that he deserves ! 💗
He's been playing Americans so long that he's lost that British accent.
Naah he’s stil got it
It's been dulled a little bit lol like Micheal Bisping
That's what literally happened to Gary Oldman! He played so many American roles that he had to have a language coach help him maintain his British accent.
He sounds like he's faking his British accent
He’s born in England
Faking nothing...you’re confused
John Haigh he was referring to the way he sounds like he’s faking it even though it’s really not fake. Tom Holland also has the same issue.
Well, I doubt it, since he actually comes from British nobility/upper class and went to Eton College which is a really upscale boarding school (tuition sets you back about £42k/year), the same one princes William and Harry went to.
My two favorite actors right now are Damian Lewis and Hugh Laurie…I started watching Amazon prime shows and fell in love with House MD… I watched all 177 shows three times and later found out that you Laurie is actually British. Then I found billions and recognized Damian Lewis from band Brothers and I I couldn’t stop watching… Again I was floored to find out he was British. They’re both great actors and the fact that they can play in American with such ease even gives me more reason to admire them. They Are truly actors.
Who is waiting for Billions season 4
Best show since HOC has since stopped.
✋
Waiting for s3 still
House of Cards was overrated. And that offensive southern accent was an atrocity.
waiting why?
My favorite actor! This dude was amazing in Homeland and now this serie just keeps reaffirming his talent...
Damien is awesome. Hope he has lots of cool projects ahead of him. Billions is amazing. He would make a good James Bond too.
Oh i like that
! First ginger Bond
He's playing Steve McQueen in Tarantinos upcoming film.
I said the James Bond thing the other day!
Good idea!
no james bond
Love the whole story line whomever is writing this show needs an award, the humour that seeps in is excellent, Lewis delivers the corporate psychopath with precision so much so I actually don't like him at times & I am a big fan of his... I give Billions 10/10 for acting and storyline. One of, if not the best show that has come out the US in years.
TOTALLY AGREE!! The cast, the acting, the script and the entire show is absolutely BRILLIANT!!
AGREE MAN!!even after 3 years and 5 seasons, the writing hasn't fallen off like other shows!
What the heck?? I never knew he was British! It's best he keeps his American accent going, he doesn't have much of a British accent left. I truly love his role in Billions, what a terrific show.
Lol it's funny I knew he was but his voice still sounds funnier than I expected. I've watched every episode of Homeland and Billions, for years I've been seeing him, and knew he was British the entire time BUT I never actually heard him speak. Everything I've seen him in he's American hearing him now I'm lol cause his tone is entirely different like maybe it's because he's concentrating on the accent it makes the register of his voice different, but his Homeland/Billions voice is a different pitch than his normal voice. Honestly it's not like extremely obvious and very British he wasn't saying British terms or pronouncing words much different from us so I didn't even notice immediately.
He can definitely pull off an Italian accent
Same thing with Hugh Laurie. I watched house for years without knowing he was British
HOUSE IS BRITISH!!??!
His accent is interesting. Somewhere between british and american
CarlHH777 exactly my thoughts. It’s like he’s teetering on the cusp of not knowing which one he wants to stick with.
I thought he was an Italian
@@scruffylookinnerdherder5729 More likely he's deliberately made himself speak like that to sound neutral.
@@jedimojojojo1603 I always thought Bobby had like a Boston Accent. He was in Band of Brothers playing a completely different accent.
Gothic,"purse" Paul Kehr's here with Avril Lavigne and Mathew "he has black prison glasses on-and it says and! we are not dumb period" "ok!!!" "wallet no repeats-forearm t" "Bulie and Dad reads"
I absolutely love you Damian Lewis . My heart breaks for him losing his wife to the dam cancer horrible 😞😞😞 I hope he grief and heal and find someone that make him happy once again !
Billions was an incredible series !! Lewis and Giamatti performed amazingly
His wife is amazing in peaky blinders!!
Sadly Helen McCrory passed away earlier this year 😢
I never realized, but that really was the golden age of TV. Band of Brothers, The Sopranos and The West Wing all running at the same time
Billions, the best show on the planet ☺🙌
YOU ARE SO CORRECT.....
THE BEST OUT
You need to watch succession!
best of the best)
Damian lewis new 007.
They never mention Lewis was in the show LIFE. He was a Detective. Who was trying to figure out whom framed him for a murder. Great show only lasted two seasons.
John Jzak where can I watch this?
it is on dvd, and maybe you can find it on a firestick or Netflix. I have been watching it on terrariumtv
I loved that show! I think it ended over a writers strike.
Life was a good show
AnneMarie Bliss yeah after the writers strike it never really picked up views.
I love Billions , so well written & acted. I love the character Wags!
Two men that I admire. Great interview!
Love Bobby Axelrod character role played by Damian. Remember the great performance in Band of Brothers. Keep it up man!
6:11 shout-out to Detective Charlie Crews from "Life" - incredible show and characters, though it's a shame it ended, the climax was absolutely amazing along with the soundtrack of the whole show. Sadly it's no longer available for free on NetFlix but I believe the SD version is available for $10 on Prime Video. And of course, Billions is just as incredible so far, certainly in it's own way, though.
Just found it for free as well on Hulu. Yeet
Love, love, love this show! Bill Li ons
After buzz podcast is amazing as well.
Such a great actor
Great interview. What a down to earth guy.
Can't wait to see him as Steve McQueen in the new Tarantino movie "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood".
The casting choice was brilliant! He does look a lot like Steve McQueen.
Favorite show since breaking bad
OMFG so true
I love his character so much it means so much to me I have no words to describe it
People talking about Damien's accent reminds me of my Great Auntie who was born and raised here in the UK but moved to Australia back when everyone and their dog could move out there for like £20! When I first met her, me being age 6 or 7, I honestly thought my Great Uncle had met her in Australia and moved out to be with her. Her Australian accent was very a strong New South Wales accent and she had Aussie slang nailed!
He was wonderfully wicked in The Forsythe Saga. ...great actor
I discovered this guy from British TV... playing Soames in The Forsyte Saga. F*cking brilliant! ♥
Yeah he was perfect as Soames lol.
the way he speak is incredible !!
This is such an amazing show!!!
damian lewis will play steve mcqueen in the new Tarantino film
I remember watching him in Poirot's Hickory Dickory Dock way back when
Amazing talent. He was also great in Wolf Hall. One of the few British roles he's played.
Excuse me he doesn't just play Americans!!
I love Damian omg such a great actor like really makes you see the character
Band of Brothers will always be the best.
Very talented actor.
I love him so mich.
47? looks alot younger than that
Dyes his hair
The show is too real and depressing. It hurts me. Our economy has de-regulated, the pension is gone and the local financial advisor is no panacea for the pain.
Hoping someday He can revisit Homeland! excellent actor!
Is it March already.
I'm tired of waiting for season 4
Damien should be the next and best James Bond
I LOVED him in LIFE!
He's such a brilliant actor!
Would love to see him in some quality movies, but Very few are made anymore!! I think he'd make an amazing Bond, hope that happens!!
He should play this role.......ALWAYS!
Best show on television.
He's awesome to watch in anything, and so hot too.
I thought he was like 41😂Damien Lewis is amazing as Bobby Axelrod.
What made me laugh and laugh about the season finale was Connerty telling his former boss Chuck to "Get Out....." What goes around comes around.
RIP to his wife Helen... 😢
Ironically Dream Catcher is one of my favourite movies because of his performance
Great show
one of the very best shows on tv since it's first season.
He was amazing in Homeland!
I can't find this show on Netflix,. Why
All of the superlatives about Damian Lewis are accurate. My biggest disappointment is that there is no mention of his TV series, "Life". This is a gem to the third power. It only lasted 2 seasons and while it didn't leave the audience hanging, I've met no one that watched it who was not bummed because it didn't continue. Lewis plays an LAPD cop that is wrongly convicted of murder and spends 10 years in prison before being vindicated. He sues LA and also gets his job back at LAPD. His character is nothing short of deluxe! Look for it; you will not be disappointed.
Thanks. I will
Because Homeland was on the Horizon.
billions - great show
I still can’t get past him in Band of Brothers as the war hero.
People should see him in The Forsyte Saga (it's the series they show at 5:58). Absolutely incredible actor!
Sept 5th new season 2021 can’t wait!
Donald Trumps father was a multi hundred millionaire. Not a poor guy from the block. He had a rolls take him to college. Not Axe at all
That's what I was thinking... don't understand why these people can't just put a little effort into research first
No one's talking about he attended Eton College before going to theater school.
Love his British accent. He should keep it. If he is chosen for Bond. or Q if Idris plays Bond💖
Bravo 👏🏻
Small but memorable rendering of Steve McQueen in the Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
He sounds like half American and half British
Well most of his roles does come from portraying as American characters.
His half British is simply off. He should just stick to his American accent which he has greatly adopted.
RockstahRolln He was probably in the midst of filming so the American accent is pretty strong compared to the way he normally talks back home
@@RockstahRolln ... that's because he is being interviewed in America ... back in England there is no doubting his English accent ... its clear not a trace of american
@@jeanlawley6483 Exactly my thoughts! He is a master doing that, he is like a chamaleon, Ooohh like his initial theather company!!
Wow! Never would have guessed he's British! He does a really good NYC accent.
very talented
reminds me of christian bale from The Prestige
Awesome dude.
He's an incredible actor and a hot redhead!
Great great actor.
so cool
Excellent acteur
Love him!❤❤
Wags is the best
Taylor!!
First time saw him was in movie dream catcher
Major Winters.
I’m English and lived in LA for 22 years. I never wanted to lose my original accent but it’s inevitable after a long time hanging around Americans. He’s lost a lot of his posh English accent but it’s not really his fault.
13 years after leaving the USA, I still sound somewhat American, unfortunately.
I like him with his red hair 😘
That is a very high table
How did I not know about billions. I love homeland sons of anarchy also band of brothers. Never thought this show was this good. Put it up there with soa.
Damian wasn't in SOA.
Great Actor
Billions is probably the best Show right now. Got would have been the best if not for S8. Ozark is really good as well.
Damian is such a great actor. Finally someone that meets with Harvey Spector
That's one hot redhead!
His voice in the show is so different
He is Brit 🤣 with such an amazing accent.
This is not a ping-pong, this is a TABLE TENNIS.
I love billions, the best best show 🤩.
His British accent has been really Americanized
Hello Bobby!
04:46 haha so cute
Life was a good show
such a good show! was so sad when they cancelled it...
Amazing show that nobody is herd off, 1st season is true masterpiece
