Damian Lewis in "Life" is like... the man of my dreams. He's sexy like an English man (always thought Brits were the sexiest ;-) BUT American accent is definitely easier for me to understand!! I'm really looking foward to buy "The Bakery" (and maybe "The Escapist") on DVD, because those weren't released in France :-( Thank you so much for posting this!!
He was awesome in Band of Brothers. It's by far my favourite film or 'films'. He plays the role so perfectly. I'm sure Richard Winters would be proud. RIP.
I love Damian Lewis...I love to watch life and this is the first time I heard him speak in his british accent, although I did know he was a brit...very interesting....
It was filmed in England and per the studio, was just more convenient and less costly to employ local actors. Not to mention, Damian Lewis is an amazing actor in his own right! BTW, about half of the band of brothers cast were english.

haha it's funny so many people saying they didn't know he was british. if you check out dreamcatcher he switches back and forth! his 'evil' personality is british and his regular one is american. so awesome.
I find it amazing how some actors can fake an american accent... Anna Torv, Colin Farrel etc. I thought for sure this guy was american after watching band of brothers and homeland.... I've never noticed his real accent slip through!!
I'd pick Damian Lewis for the role of the 12th Doctor in Doctor Who when the time comes (which I hope won't be for a long, long time). Damian is ginger and the Doctor always wanted to be ginger. Also because Damian is such a good actor. However, I'd fiddle with the hair style a bit, make it more Doctor-type, like Matt's, but with a difference.
Damian Lewis needs to be the Doctor period, 12th or 13th Doctor, doesn't matter. We need to fulfill one of the Doctor's wishes and give him ginger hair. lol

Great movie! He was the best in B o B and regarding the posh accent(Comment below) he is an Old Etonian!! Nuf said.
