I’m 49 in perimenopause and no one ever warned me about this. None of the women in my family talk about it. None of my friends are talking about it, even though they must be going through it. I feel like my body is betraying me and the insomnia and the sudden hot flashes are the worst.

I've not had hot flashes but I keep waiting. I was told my mother didn't have them either but she went through the "change of life" in her mid 40s. Ms. Berry is 58. The age range can vary tremendously. I wouldn't miss my cycle at all. I wish it would go away (in a healthy way). No need for it. Huhhhh. I read the average age for periomen... is at age 51 so I guess I have a minute. I believe there's so much one can do to prepare the body in advance. Not sure if they discuss holistic treatments. Integrative medicine doctors are hard to find. Women should also do their own research about oils and herbs that may aid the process.

Glad to see this being addressed. I'm 50 and two months ago I had a total abdominal hysterectomy where they removed everything. So now I'm in menopause and the main symptoms I'm getting are hot flashes, pain in my finger joints after waking up, sometimes heart palpitations and disturbed sleep. I started taking Black Cohosh this week as I was told this is very good for menopause. I'm also taking Caltrate D3 tablets.

The stress from losing my husband shot me into menopause at 37. One good thing, I haven't had a period since then and I've never had hot flashes or night sweats. Menopause has really been a breeze except for the brain fog and forgetfulness.

I also went through an extremely stressful and tragic loss at that age. My period suddenly went away and then came back at 43. Chronic stress can really mess your body up. But now I’m 49 now and this perimenopause situation is no joke. Hormonal fluctuations, the insomnia and the drive to get up and go or just gone. 😭

There’s an entire subset of overlooked women who run head first into menopause, literally overnight, thanks to surgical treatment of cancer. If the ovaries go, here comes menopause no matter your age. And many have hormone positive cancer and cannot use hormone replacement therapy, leaving them to bare fist fight their way through it. The same applies to chemo patients though menopause isn’t literally overnight, but is still exceedingly fast onset. Women who experience cancer-induced menopause are often considerably younger than the average perimenopausal woman, leaving them often without a peer support group who understands their unique experience. Many never got to have children nor did they ease into menopause gradually over time so a lot of advice and helpful tips won’t apply or help. I strongly urge women in this category (under 50 with cancer induced menopause) to seek out others like them in cancer support groups. There are many smaller, local groups as well as online, who can provide this kind of support. It’s a much bigger deal than I ever expected since I was strictly focused on surviving stage 3B cancer. The treatment consequences I was left to figure out for myself and it was a miserable journey.

It’s been about 8 months since I started HRT I’ve not had night sweats and don’t wake up nearly as often. I have a sense of well being I haven’t felt in years and renewed vitality in past times I thought were more in the past. Sure it may not be for everyone but you should think about it and it’s, you are, you are worth spending the money on seeing a doctor to find out.

I did not know a drop in estrogen during menopause can cause cancer, rarely hare that.

      @Himmiefan 23 дня назад +1

I’ve heard that estrogen must drop because keeping it high decade after decade can increase our chances of cancer. The body naturally lowers estrogen for a reason.

Hot flashes till end of life. Not sure on that because everyone is different. As for the chill bed , not ever woman has the money for that. Lots of variations to find comfort.🤔

Why do people complain about natural things? Just go with the
flow of things. It doesn't last
forever. Silly topic more important things to worry about.

You haven’t been having any major issues like a lot of women I’m guessing? Are you female? Shame on you for berating women about this issue!
And with medical advances today, why should any woman “just go with the flow”?
We complain because this can last over 1/2 of a woman’s lifetime! I started peri-menopause at 36. Went into menopause at 48! My mother aged 73 still has many symptoms incl. hot flashes, etc.
      Be kind…

It’s weird that Blacks are only 14.2 percent of the population but currently make up 54% of commercials and guests on shows/movies.

It’s weird that a racist thinks this is a good time and place to spread bullshit propaganda. Incidentally, adding decimal points to your invented percentages doesn’t lend you greater credibility; being a disgusting, pathetic loser essentially ruined that for you up front.

Why would you make such a comment? It's weird that you would even notice this and be so focused on color. I'm white and offended by you. Are you suggesting there should be less black people on TV?? Sounds racist. Also where are you getting your statistics. 14.4% is black pop in US only and in other countries and rest of the world there are much more who also watch these international TV commercials and want to be represented. I've never seen stat about 54% blacks in commercials and that seems high. There should be more diversity and less ignorance! educate yourself from narrow minded thoughts. Did you know that white people make up only 16% of the world population!
