Super helpful instructions! This video is two years old, but they added and option to mirror the preview screens, right click and there's a series of options to pick.
Thanks for this tutorial. I had everything working but the sound. I realised in my set up I need to set Monitor and Output in the properties to the stream from VDO NInja into Streamlabs and MUTE the actual website in Chrome for it to work and not give me feedback, but the video and audio works perfectly now. Took me months to figure this out and this video helped me immensely.
I've now seen several videos on the use of OBS with other software for podcasting. Apparently they all work but it seems like a lot of work to set it up. It would be nice if OBS developers incorporate these features right into OBS. I can handle the complexity of these methods of I focus on them- but if it's complicated for our guests then they won't do it- which is why most people like Zoom. I'm fairly new with OBS and like it a lot. I can see there's a great deal you can do with it. But I'm retired and lazy now!
Good video buddy. I am experimenting this as well as I want to implement it in my workflow with OBS to bring guests on . The first time I tried with electron capture and it worked well expect some latency issues with the guests audio. Let me know if you wanna play around with it on a live stream I would live to have you on or you have me either way .cheers
Nice! I'm planning to do a quick solo stream on Monday night on it because I've been getting a few questions on it lately. I would love to do something in the near future as well. I haven't actually tried to use it with electron capture but I can imagine that it might introduce a little more latency. I usually just bring it directly into OBS. With electron capture, you're bringing it into another app and then relying on the OBS screen share to not slow down either. That would be an interesting test to try it both ways.
@@EverydayTechTV electron capture was invented to help with the lag issues because people were having issues especially when you had multiple guests in the room plus OBS browser source wasn’t handling it well. I will keep testing it could the guests internet connection as well . Let me know if you are interested in doing some live testing in the future this tool is awesome I want to explore it to the maximum and it looks like you do to… cheers. I subbed btw
Thank you for explaining this and for showing how to appear, myself, in Vdo. I find it to be easy compared to other options, but not that intuitive! So I was having a hard time figuring out how to show myself to my guests and how it all connected. But you say that extra audio can't be sent to VDO ninja guests? I am having a live karaoke stream. I will be using RUclips to source the videos and sing to them, so I will also have that as an output audio. Are you saying there is no way to send that RUclips audio to my guests in VDO? I don't want them to just hear me singing acapella, haha...
I am impressed with your presentation. I believe you will grow your channel fast. I am experimenting with vdo ninga. What preparation does a guest have to do to prepare to be a guest in a stream. I didn't understand how a guest must prepare ahead of time to be a guest on a stream in obs. What equipment they need? Do they have to have obs running on a pc with vdo ninga running? Thanks in advance for your reply.
Hello there. Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. I hope you've had a chance to play around with things. Vdo.ninja allows you to interact with your guests. You can think of it as a separate kind of video conferencing app. How VDO.ninja differs with something like Zoom is that it allows you to easily bring it into your production software, like OBS. You will have to create scenes in OBS and bring in the individual guests' video. The guest doesn't have to do anything other than log into your VDO.ninja conference or chat room. They only need a web browser. Once they log in, they just have to allow the browser to use their webcam and audio device. Let me know if this is clear or not.
Thanks for this video. The one part I got confused about was when you said your guest could either see you or not see you based on whether you switched over to the virtual camera. Is there a way for the guest to see what the viewer sees? In other words, how does the guest see the template on OBS? And is this a good way for guests to see and hear any videos you wish to share to your audience? Thanks again!
Great video! Can i ask you, is there any way if im invited as a guest i can come over to there video with my full green screen, like my own background setup from my end. I cant seem to work this one out.thanks
why i have feedback on my audio when i use ninja+obs and final distunation will be Facebook? what should i do not to get back the echo, feedback, where to mute my mic or guset mic in ninja or obs? just to let you know i use headphone and i asked my guest to use his headphone too but still delay on the sound and pic too latency
so, my question is "if I go in and set up inputs with different people, and we use it again on another day, will those links still be good, or, am I going to have to go in and edit the addresses for each additional person every time I try to stream with it?"
Considering i'd like to use OBS one day for streaming, VDO Ninja is something that goes hand in hand with that and I love that you did this tutorial video on it. By the way, who's that cool guest you had on your channel ? Heard she's pretty decent haha 😅
Thanks for the video! Can you explain how to make the guests hear audio from obs please? I need to do a live streaming with a guest and show him a video, but he needs to be able to hear the audio too. Please help!
Sorry for not getting back to you earlier. That can be a little complicated. The only way I can see doing it in OBS is using some audio routing software. I’m using a Mac so I use Loopback. I heard there are a number of windows ones as well.
&nopreview or &np gets rid of the self preview so the guest only sees other people. Then when you show them on OBS Virtual Cam, then they would only see themselves once.
What is the benefit to doing this over just screen grabbing from Discord video chat? Also can I make sure that I have guests go to the same spot on my OBS every single week. I run a D&D stream with seven players and I want to make sure that they go to the same spot on the layout every week no matter what order they log in. This would enable me to add things like names easily
The Audio configuration. I was trying with a friend of mine, I was getting a loop of my audio. Are you using 2 different audio source, one to communicate with the guest and 1 from OBS Studio?
This is a common thing that might happen. Because the main VDO.Ninja system is web based and this is how you communicate with each other, when you bring your guest into OBS, often, you’ll hear the guest via OBS and you’ll also hear your guest in the web browser. You just have to check all the sources where the audio is coming from and make sure you’re muting the ones that need to be muted. I’m not sure if this helps or not.
@@EverydayTechTV , thanks for your response, could you elaborate a bit more or have a video on this. I'm using a mixer with inbuilt sound card, the guest had no issues, it's on my end since I'm the invitee can hear myself in a loop
Gotcha.. so you're hearing yourself? Here's how I would test it... 1. Setup VDO.ninja with your guests without bringing it into OBS. Don't even open OBS and see if you're hearing yourself. 2. If you don't hear yourself, open OBS and bring in your guest into your scene. 3. If start to hear yourself, make sure there are not multiple vdo.ninja tabs open. You should only have the vdo.ninja Control center window open. I know you said your guests can't hear it but does it come through as double if you record from OBS? I plan to do a live stream on Monday night at 10pm EST. I'll try to address it then to explain it better. If you can't make the live stream, watch the replay of it.
so you cant bring them on the fly....to add each person takes some effort.....so im passing on this....i usually do lives streams where i invite the view in.. it would be nice if you warned us ahead of time..
Which link are you talking about? I don't recall using my phone in this but there are a number of ways to do it. I'm using all Apple products, so I actually can share my clipboard within devices. You can also send the link to yourself a number of ways and check it on your device (eg. Email, text, etc).

Use virtual cables and audio monitor plugin in OBS and you can send all you want the guest to hear

Hi. About the chat script, you can use the same link on the IFrame button in vdo.ninja's control room.
Awesome. Just tried it out. That works great. Although it doesn't work very well on a phone but on a regular screen that is just what I need.
Thanks for the video, it’s super helpful! New sub, keep up the good work!
