To go along with the scene nesting, you can do the same to groups. Apply the filter to the group and it won't screw up the original source. So, I always put my webcam in a group even if its the only item in the group so that I can add filters to the webcam without screwing it up in other scenes.
AND AND (you’re really gonna like this one lmao) source mirror. Makes an EXACT clone of whatever you’re mirroring without effecting the original source. So it effectively removes nesting (didn’t know about it at the time I made the video haha)
Great video bro. I have been watching OBS videos on RUclips for 2 days trying to find tips and tricks and your video had lots of stuff I had not yet seen. Well done.
Hello. 20:30 for start replay buffer with stream, there is a checkbox in Setting->General->Output-> Automatically start replay buffer when streaming. I have OBS 26.1.1. don't know there is such a checkbox in previous versions.
Having been streaming for the past 3 years, I've come to learn quite a few of these tricks over time - but holy s*** do I wish I knew just half of them when I first started streaming! Great video !
This my first time logging in with you, I’m old skool I’m in search for streaming for church services, you’re talking some advance stuff is there an OBS for dummies.so I can catch up.
This video is VERY much appreciated! I'm pretty new to streaming and OBS and my current setup requires me to use one laptop for content and stream. Your custom stream res settings have helped me immensely. Subbed!
Dude this video is freaking awesome. I've been using OBS for a couple of years now and I have never noticed many of these let alone use them. I will be recommending this video to anyone wanting to look into useful features/tricks for OBS.
Awesome info, cheers for making this. The Auto start replay Buffer (when streaming) is now in the general tab of version 27.1.3 Thinking of mapping it to a spare mouse button for quicker response time, as I have reflex speed of roadkill. Nice tutorial and info. Thanks again. Oh I just checked... it was already there look at 5:55 its in the general tab under the output section
2:55 The paperclip dude! O_O waaaaay back throw back lol got a like just for that but I’m sure this will be super helpful if I decide to stream one day
Another tip for fine tuning things: Right click > Transform > Edit transform... There you can put custom pixel values. You can check your camera's one and e.g. if it's 1000 pixels from the left, you can check the width of your border (let's say it's 20 pixels), you can put 1020 for your webcam for example. You can also do pixel perfect rotation, size, center point, cropping etc. there.
You deserve youtube award of the year. TNice tutorials video truly nails it! Very well explained... The way you cut the bullsNice tutorialt and get straight to it..
Nice tutorial, thanks! FYI: you can add filters to Source Groups, easier than adding to a scene. I use groups for my cams and stuff, and then I can crop and filter and whatever on different scenes and they won't affect each other.
woah, I didnt expect to learn so much... I knew a couple of these tips but hiding and locking volume etc is super helpful and something I didnt realise! cheers mate :)
@@P1xelPerfect Great video anyway, dont want to seem ungrateful. You manage what i havent been able to in my videos, and that is to get to the point and not ramble on!
I've been working on my stream in OBS for a while now and you're the first person who talked about linking your account and docking twitch in OBS. Thank you sir, a thousand times, thank you.
Awesome Tutorial. I have been live streaming for about 6 months and this is the first time I've seen you. You really opened the doors to lots of new elements I was not aware of. Thank you!
the resting and distort doesn't seem to be working for me. in 2022 have the removed the feature of is there a setting that I am missing?. great video.. very helpful
Hello. I was wondering how one can have text scroll up to a picture, then go above the picture and continue scrolling, without scrolling over the picture... so it would be like 2 scrolls, one spaced at the bottom, and one spaced above the picture that has the scrolling text from the bottom one handed off to it?
This was great! I didn't realize that "Connect Account" gave you so much more (Twitch integration) than just using the stream key. I wish they'd made that clear when doing the setup so I had these features weeks ago. :)
This was the most helpful video I could find. A nice long-ish video just explaining everything I have looked for, this is really gonna help me fir starting my streams' :)
What do I do if my transition cuts all background music off? Every time I switch the scene the RUclips music in the background stops until the transition is finished
I think you touched on this in the vid.. but not sure you explained it. How do i rotate the image INSIDE my webcam box? I want my box to be longer than it is wide (like yours in this vid).. so i flip my box 90 degrees CW and it works but then, my image inside the box (me) is also rotated on the side.... I can't figure out how to rotate the actual webcam image. I have the logi 922 if that matters. Thanks!
If you are planning on using the feature at 19:00 you are better off looking for an mov format. This way, you can make IG reels, YT shorts look professional as you can put the same clip in twice with the behind one blurry without the black bezels mp4 and jpg give
On your tip #8, I wish the developers would incorporate skewing a 16:9 video source. For example, you have a virtual background, and on a wall that's viewed in perspective with a flat-screen TV on it, I want to be able to superimpose the 16:9 video source of my webcam or other video source to match the perspective lines of the TV screen to give it a more realistic look.
you totally saved me with the shift and grab the image to move it how you want it. Been here for ages thinking how in the world obs don't have a feature to make the image fit
After watching this video, you have earned my subscribed, liked and comment. Also following on twitch and joining the discord. This video is very helpful tips for someone looking to start streaming. Thank you!
Thanks for the video! question: I am a newbie at this and I am making tutorials and I want to switch from the screen computer screen to the camera. I want the camera to be on the edge when I am explaining something in the screen and I want the camera to take over the screen when I am talking to my audience... thanks in advance
Thank you for these amazing tips. It's very helpful especially to someone like me who's a complete beginner in using OBS. Looking forward to more of your content 🙂
Never knew a majority of this was possible. So motivated to get things like stingers and more to work now. Thank you for a great video and helpful speed in which you explained everything.
I want to start using OBS for RUclips videos. Do you have a video of the type of computer you use for your streaming? If not can you make one? Thanks for this.
HI CHRIS, I AM USING MY CANON 6T REBEL FOR WEB CAM, HOWEVER I AM HAVING DIFFUCLTY SETTING IT INTO OBS AND THEN CROPPING WITH ALT, IT SEEMS NOT TO BE WORKING. MAY I PLEAS HAVE SOME HELP WITH THIS?

Great OBS tips. Is there a way to share/stream a Zoom meeting with a friend (not participate in the Zoom meeting) while I am recording recording it using OBS?
I can now see the option to Automatically start replay buffer when streaming, it's under Settings -> General -> Output.
I have been using OBS for 2 plus years. Still learned a couple things. Thank you!

20:51 There actually is an option to automatically start replay buffer when streaming. You can find it in "Output" settings tab. Great video btw :D
At 19:37, in Output we can see the option to automaticaly start the replay buffer when streaming.

Best OBS video I've seen on youtube. No one never went into details that much for that software. Thanks mate, best wishes from France.
Just learning how to stream, this was super helpful cheers!
why whe i use photoshop in obs the mouse tool and right click tool dont be enable in screen this problem for toturial ?
Phenomenal video, man, thank you so much for all the useful tips and tricks!
Cropping is something I was looking for a long time. Thanks, man!
Disable preview was something I'd not thought about for saving system resources. Good tip!
Thank you. I liked the most filters on scenes, and stinger transitions. good luck

yes, looks cool. not available on MAC OSx / OBS 26.0.2, or OBS 26.1.2 or even 25.0.8, guess I'll have to see on 27.0
As a RUclips streamer with not too many high quality options for clipping, the replay buffer tip is a game changer. Great video!

screen in the top left, look at where it says program and click on where it says “aggressive te” and change it to “analog app 1 te”

On your tip #8, I wish the developers would incorporate skewing a 16:9 video source. So essentially you would want to line it up perfectly with the tv in the background? like depth wise on the Z axis?
Very helpful videos and shortcuts that I didn’t knew about.
