About the rainbows, the ones with yellow fins are females, the ones with red fins are males. The males will develop a larger foreheads when they mature. You can 100% expect them to spawn in those lush and dense plants when they mature. They are an amazing species. I wish you the best of luck with them!👍

Also, you should concider diving into the different types, patterns, shapes, and mutations in the guppies. The breeding gets more challenging and fun when you focus on specifis strains / traits / mutations. It always makes you happy when you look at your strain and see how you have improved their dorsal fin size by half, how they pectoral fins are more vibrant, how their pattern is more consistent than ever before. Not trying to tell you what to do, just giving you directions you may follow

Dude you make just throwing a scared tank together look so easy, lol.
Breeding guppies may be basic, but there's a reason people still do it. It's FUN to see what you can come up with when mixing them. Or you can nerd out on a particular guppy like Bently with Luke Roebuck's Hawaiian Blues. I get bored with that, yes, they are gorgeous, but they're always the same when you look at the tank.
Then if you really want some very cool and super unique hybrids mix some absolutely awesome endler males with some female guppies that carry color on their tails or bodies...MAN...the absolutely unique bold and wild patterns and colors you get on the fry is mind blowing.
When I had a bigger house and an actual room dedicated to fish and breeding I had a 50L that I put the most uniquely patterned fry in to grow out and breed and if I found a really awesome male guppy I'd throw him in too. Then 2 completely different strains of female endlers.
THAT was my favorite experiment project of all time. I spent more time staring in wonder at what nature will create given what's available to work with genetically.
EVERYBODY that ever came to buy fish or trade fish and even folks visiting that weren't fish people were fascinated and wowed by that tank.
And of course they always wanted to buy them...uhhh, nope, not for sale, but I would tell them and help them set up a tank and help them make choices that would produce amazing colors and patterns on the fry.
Guppies and endlers have endured in this hobby for generations just because of things like this.
I also do think it's extremely important that we keep native endlers separate and with fully traceable sources to their collection points.
Certain guppies too, like Bently's Hawaiian Blues traceable back to Luke Roebuck.
I had some verified black bar endlers from AdrianHD back in the day and they were stunning, blew every pet store or other home bred black bar out of the water.
I kept them in my bedroom far far away from the hybrid project, just to be absolutely sure a determined project fish didn't end up in their tank.
Anyway...always good to see what you're up to and how your projects and scapes are doing.
    👍❤️👍

When I'm setting up a tank I have it running for around a month before I put fish in! What did you do to yours to simply put them in? Is it because they're not staying in there? Doesn't it shock the fish?

    • @AQUAPROS
      @AQUAPROS  Год назад

its kind of a complicated answer, but I just know from a decade of fish keeping (using the same materials, etc) that if I put a few small fish in a simple tank (and don't feed them a ton) nothing bad will happen for me. Its terrible advice for a beginner and that's why I don't typically show this stuff.... Im also pay a lot of attention to tanks like this, so if theres an issue I can act fast if I need to.

This is the first I have heard of the Mountain Dew rasbora, what’s the scientific name or other common name because I can’t seem to find anything else on RUclips? Very cool always excited to learn about a new fish… my aquascape with my cardinals has been going strong but I’m ready for a change I’ve been looking for some CPDs but these might be a great cool alternative. Fantastic video as always!
