Small schooling fish are my favourite. I always end up dedicating my tank mainly, or even solely to them, and mine is a 50 gallons - But the spectacle of schooling fish in a planted aquarium is so unique, I readily renounce to larger fish in favour of them.
I have a 55g - the idea was for a betta sorority, so I wanted a big tank. But right now I have guppies and orange laser catfish and I have 6 more catfish and 10 ember tetras on the way. SMH! Once these guys are outta quarantine and doing well in the big tank, I want some rainbow fish and more Cory cats. I love Cory cats.. so my big fish tank is turning into a small fish tank!
Videos like these are invaluable for learning about the best schooling fish for freshwater aquariums that were previously unknown. Keep doing the videos.
The Buenos Aires Tetra were by far the tightest schooling fish I've had. They are also little bullets when feeding... Unfortunately, they will eat some plants.. Looking to get a nano school going in with my rainbows..
It's the video iam looking in RUclips.. Finally i find it.. I love fishes very much... Thanks for share this helpful video.. Love you bro... Waiting for your next video... 🥰
It’s always special to learn something about aquarium fishing. The way you presented the video is simply gorgeous. Also, your explanation is super cool and easy to understand. The video quality is excellent. I have learnt a lot about this type of fishing. Very helpful content. I Will recommend it to my friends. Keep up the good work.❤️
Schooling fish don’t just hang out with their own species They’ll also school with other similar species I had a school of regular neons and a school of black neons that schooled together as one species💯🐠💙🔥
The video I was looking for , thanks for sharing it with us , really awesome and amazing and would like to recommend to everyone .wow . very beautiful fish unites . . thanks for the this enjoyable video .
Your video is really amazing. I personally enjoyed the video and I like it very much because there are many things to learn in your video which will help a lot in real life. We only want more videos from you and hope you will give them. Thank you very much.
Cherry barbs are massively under rated. In the store they look pale and meh. Put them in your plantd tank at home and the colours really shout and they behave interesting;ly. Even the female's yellow and black stripes look brill. Get 8 if you can.
On of my favorite things about schooling fish is if you have an established school that is happy and add new fish they immediately join the crew and get their vibrant colors.
How to i make my fish to school?? I have 8 neon tetra and 10 CPDs in my 30gallon long tank.. but they all over the tank.. the only time i see them together is when its feedling time.
Jellybean tetras… love their colors, the fact that they aren’t even remotely shy and that they school higher, and they really accent the colors in the rest of the tank very well. I even like the way they swim. Orange body. Green fins. But… of all the fish in the tank something was killing them off. My best guess is the generally not aggressive girl betta in there, but it also could have been the generally peaceful electric blue short body ram. I might trade the betta into a different tank and try the jellybeans again. The last survivor I moved over to a tank with nothing aggressive and he’s doing well.
Wow.This fish are look awesome. There are many kinds of fish.Every fish are so various colorful. All are look very gorgeous. Thes fish are best schooling in fresswater aquims.
I've just been gifted with 3 smaller tanks. So am very excited getting started. I have an African frog a albino catfish and 6 guppies. I'd love a shrimp tank..they r lovely. What is a nano tank mean please? U speak very clearly and I like the still pics to see each fish and not just in the tank. U make an excellent teacher...thank you.
Hi Roda. A nano tank in the freshwater world would be anything less than 20 gallons. In the saltwater side, anything under 40 gallons is considered a nano tank
No they don't school together. Make sure to keep the Rummys group and the Neons group separate. Even so, it's enjoyable to observe their small clusters. Sometimes they all band together to feed or simply to swim around.
I love small schooling fish. I have a 55 gallon and I’m getting ready to get a 90. Both will be full of small schooling fish. I stare at my 55 gallon all the time 🥰
Wow Amzing Today My Favorite Videos About The 15 BEST Schooling Fish For Freshwater Aquariums 🐟❤️is very important to me.I watch your videos everyday❤️. Very Simple Explanation!! I appreciate you talking about this idea. Thanks for providing this extremely valuable and instructive video.
top of the list for me are in my 29 gal. tank are 10 white cloud mountain minnows and 5 cherry barbs. in my 20 gal. tank i have 5 tiger barbs 5 zebra danios. It has worked really well especially the 20 gal. they are both known to be fin nippers which they do but they believe in segregation and don't swim together.
55 gallon tank. 1 betta and 1 angelfish as the main display. 1 school of blue neon thst school with the black and red. 1 school serpae tetra 1 school of red eye tetras. And then guppies which won’t stop breeding so they have the largest number
I wouldn't call cherry barbs schooling fish. I have 6 and they mostly do their own thing. Great seasy fish though. Males look great when they get the adult color.
I like cardinal tetras but they are rare to find in fish stores i can't even get them to order them seems they die too much the neons are easier for them
Rainbow fish are gonna be the most tolerant. You can also try African cichlids if you have hard water. They are schooling but they work great this this type of water.
Great little production. Would like to see more of the Top 20 "EXCELLENT" School Fish, featuring less tetras & some more small variety examples: Dwarf Pencilfish, CRP (Coral Red Pencilfish), CPD ("Galaxy fish"), Golden Dwarf Barb (the "Golden" dwarf variety= shrimp-safe over the "gold barb" is different), Emerald-Eye Rasbora or Kubotai Rasbora (neon green rasboras), dwarf loaches (Chain Loach ~ 6cm), and finally the smallest nano-aquarium fish ever discovered! Indonesian Super Dwarf! Just 7 ideas anyway to add to the broader spectrum, pencilfish for sure are getting a bit more attention in planted tanks and they do tend to school when kept in 7+ of their same species. I believe pencilfish are gaining some ground in popularity over hatchetfish. Especially the brighter colored Beckford's and Coral Reds are sold out everywhere.
Endlers are schooling fish. But to make video short CPDs and many other good species left. don't worry stay tuned in future videos we will make more videos on such amazing topics.

Those glass tetra look cool, I dont have a tank but feel like getting one now 🙈
Harlequins are beautiful how many espei in 15 gallon?
7 is a good number
Thanks for the new learning about fish.

Awesome Video and informative. Can all these be kept in one community tank?
Not all of them in the same tank. If you have a larger aquarium you could do multiple schools but most opt for 1 single species for uniformity

They are awesome and underrated at larger aquarium sizes. I’ve seen schools of over 100 cardinals at tradeshows they look amazing 🤩
Thank you for sharing this vadio ❤❤ I know more about schooling aquarium fish❤😊
my tank filled with black phantom tetra. i just love how they simply float together in the middle of tank.
That’s awesome to hear 😊. I’m glad you are enjoying your schooling fish ❤️
My favorite thing about Cory cats is the way they sit next to each other like cars at a 50s drive-in💯😂
🤣 I never thought about that before. Awesome

Where do we buy that kind of species
Flip aquatics is a great place to start. Their link is in the description. They are one of our channel partners.
How many of the same species should I have (minimum) for schooling to occur?
Usually 6 or more is a good start

Flip Aquatics should have them. Check our partner links. Rob is a good friend of mine
Which ftom this set survive in very hard water? Tap water in my city is so hard that not even java moss will survive.

How about congo tetras
Yes, Congo tetras are schooling fish that can get anxious if they are not part of a group of at least six of the same species.
I think tiger barb fish or school of african cichlids or south American cichlid
Great video! Thank you!

A mix of schooling and shoaling....
Cardinal Tetra= schooling.
Neon Tetra= shoaling.

Never leave schooling fish all alone. They become nervous and neurotic when alone.
