There are Filipino and Indonesian maids in the tent. Since most employers give them Saturday and Sunday off, they spend it with their colleagues. There are more than 300,000 domestic helpers in Hong Kong. Due to the large number of people, they can be seen singing and dancing in the streets every Saturday and Sunday.

HK is not just about delicious food or fancy high end shopping malls … We have many beautiful country parks with world class hiking trails where international trail running races are held. And the best part is you can get back to the city centre within 40 to 60 minutes after a good hike for some delicious dimsum. 😋 That’s the characteristics of HK … Diversified, efficient, compact … and most importantly, safe.

As a native chinese in hong kong, I welcome you two to the city, it is one of the best and I call it home. If you have time, go to aberdeen harbour which has remnants of the old fishing village that hk was known for. There are tours in old fishing boats to learn about some fishermen's story, and you'll have the best seafood. My dad side grew up there and there's a youtube channel called michael rougge who documented 80s hk where there were still large boat people there if you're interested. Truly a fascinating place!!!

I like Hong Kong, very convenient from cities to the green. You work hard on weekdays to make money and then enjoy countryside life on weekends. Go to Sai Kung you will find that it is very leisurable area, not hustle and bustle at all and it's very green there. Low salary tax rate , about 15%, is also one of the factors why so many expatriates they stay here. However, the real estate price is stunning. It's hard to make both ends meet.

Very close to HK Park is the HK Botanical Garden which is also free entrance. Take the Star Ferry to Tsim Sha Tsui where the Kowloon Park is and you’ll find a lot of very beautiful flamingos 🦩 there … FREE again! 😂❤

Yes we highly recommend it! We had a great time there and it was free. We didn’t end up seeing the flamingos but I’m sure if we stayed longer we could have seen them :)

While enjoying the unique blend of natural view and city. The landscape is mostly because the government do not have enough flat land to build houses.
And now they are trying to build in country parks and international-recognised wetlands. The dilenma between city and countryside is complicated.

No in Hong Kong cash is king, they use their own currency Hong Kong dollar. Many places like certain restaurants are cash only. Also night markets too. You can load cash onto the transportation Octopus card, you can use this card at stores like a debit card.
