As a Hong Kong citizen, I can tell you there is not much difference between staying in a central area or not, as long as you are anywhere stated in the red line/blue line of the MTR, you can have an amazing tourist experience due to our convenient transportations. There are actually quite a lot of hotels in Mong Kok or Causeway Bay that are cheap, spaced, and clean, but you just need to do a little bit more research for that. But anyway, I hope you had a great time here and a better experience next time.
Welcome to HK! So glad that you’ve enjoyed your trip here. HK is not just about high rises and modern shopping malls though. There’re so much more to see … museums, parks, theme parks, country parks, beaches, live seafood markets, … and plenty of world class hiking trials spreading all over HK Island, the New Territories and outlying islands. And there are a lot more delicious local food other than pineapple buns and HK style breakfast. 🤣🤣Anyway thanks so much for your visit and we look forward to welcoming you back to our beautiful and diversified city. I went to Hong Kong in May this year. As a Chinese, I think that HK is really different from the other cities in Mainland China. The beautiful view around Victoria Harbour at night left a deep impression on me, and there are so many tall buildings in Central, which made Hong Kong one of the most advanced cities in the world. And it is a humanistic city as well, maybe the sound of the traffic light is noisy and annoying for most people, but it is designed for those who have problems in their sight. You should go to Kwai Fong Plaza or Tsuen Wan, because there are more cheap food options there. Hong Kong people are kinder to Westerners. The reason why our English level is higher is that English is one of the main subjects. If you want to find more fun, it is recommended to go to Ocean Park, Wong Tai Sin Temple, or Tian Tan Buddha.

Oh man, this video wasn't short, but it's already half an hour when i realized it, sth mesmerizing of the video maybe 😅. at first i was interested to see what a British would think about hk, and it's good to know that you feel like home. And then it was fun to see you guys' reaction about the most ordinary things here, the octopus, the most basic breakfast, the french toast, the milk tea, etc. Makes me look at these things in a new perspective maybe. And i appreciate you guys honesty as well, coz it is what it is. I also agree that it's not worth to waste an hour for that roasted goose, coz these type of food are generally not bad here in hk, and the price is much much cheaper.
You ordered one roast pork and one roast goose. The latter one you mistakenly said it’s pork. It’s pretty funny you can’t tell goose meat from pork. This restaurant you queued for such long time is famous for their roost goose. 😂
The breakfast in Wah Sing restaurant is one of the most delicious breakfast I always eat but now I relocate abroad. I miss it very much. Thanks for your sharing!
You can try the Ki’s Roasted Goose Restaurant! There are many branches in different places and usually does not need to queue. Although it may not be the best but this should be much cheaper than the first restaurant in the video!🤣
seems you have visited some great places in hk. the milk tea from Capital Cafe is simply the best you can get. hope you two had some great time here and do come again ❤
Happy to see this video. Welcome to Hong Kong! Also, a warm pineapple bun with cold butter is a perfect match! Glad that you can taste that in Hong Kong!
We loved the atmosphere in HK and obviously the delicious foods! But honestly that pineapple bun combo with a cold slab of butter was just THE BEST!!! 😍🙏🏼
47:22 Last year, I visited HK for the first time. I fell in love with the city and its people. I was treated extremely well and felt very welcome. HongKongers seemed very nice and polite, friendly, accommodating, helpful, and hospitable, always ready to offer advice, tips, and recommendations. I have lived in South Korea for almost a decade and I happen to travel often to Japan. My experience in both countries has always been so great, I felt the bar was set very high. 🤭 I didn’t know what to expect of HK, but it knocked me off my feet. I am going back in two weeks and I hope this trip becomes an annual occurrence. I pray that things get better for HK and the outflow of residents drops. I cannot imagine HK without HongKongers. 💗 🙏🏻 🇭🇰
@@r.t1576 I was with my husband, who happens to be Asian. He received the same kind treatment on this trip. So did he during his previous FOUR (4) solo trips to HK. Sorry, buddy, the race card does not work. Not today. 👋🏻
@@beot-kkot I'm from HK (China), too, and it was based on my experience. Any Western foreigners (including Western-born Chinese) would get friendlier treatment. Those from poorer countries in South-East Asia would likely get snubbed.
It is recommended to try to visit Chinese dim sum restaurants that have morning market specials from 8 to 11 a.m. or afternoon tea specials from 2 to 4 p.m. It is worth noting that you don’t necessarily need to go to Michelin in Hong Kong because Chinese restaurants usually serve barbecued pork and roast goose. It’s also good and worthy of mentioning Hong Kong’s famous authentic snack bowls, curry fish eggs and Western-style egg tarts.
There are a good number of roasted goose restaurants that are every bit as good as the Michelin starred ones like Kam’s, and you don’t need to wait in long lines
Can you share with us some of them!? Maybe by Instagram? @jayeshchhaya or @meetrollka 😊 We generally love roasted meats so it wild be great to visit another place next time!

Thanks for the great video, you’ve shown us a different angle to look at our own city ! and frankly you guys spent quite a lot more than what an average HongKonger would spend, such as travel on Peak Tram. We normally go to the Peak via bus and mini bus. I suggest next time you come to go somewhere else less common to tourists, some remote islands such as Cheung Chau which is my favorite place to visit, you will see more traditional local living style. Also Lamma and Lantau island, and Sai Kung if you enjoy water sports and boating.
Welcome to Hong Kong! I’m so glad that you enjoyed my hometown. Next time you must try our country parks and trails. They are all within 30 to 60 minutes’ reach and beautiful.
Thank you! Will do! We're already thinking of coming back in the near future so if you have any specific trails or more local places to share, please let us know :)
As a local Hongkonger really glad you enjoy your stay here, we actually really familiar with tourists from western countries that’s what make us different with China. I'm from Germany and I came to Hong Kong in 1989. I planned 2 years and I'm still here after 30+ years. I love Hong Kong 🇭🇰 ! Today I live in the countryside and I work in the city. It's a good balance! I got my motorcycle license here in Hong Kong and I love driving my bike here as I can get anywhere and park anywhere. Hong Kong truly is my home ❤ By the way, the 🍍 bun's are called like this because of the look and they are called "Bo Lou Bau" in Chinese. I love Hong Kong food and next time you are in Hong Kong 🇭🇰, try the "Cheung Fan" for breakfast and "Dim Sum" restaurant for Brunch. It's the best. And the country side of Hong Kong is amazing! Hong Kong people are friendly and hard-working people. I know because I'm married to one 😊❤
Honkongers friendly ? Give me a break ! I have been living here for 20 years and I haven't met that many unless they push me to buy something from them. Youngsters are almost OK but the middle aged not so much.
@Sugar52588 they are not very shy when they call you out just because you walk by their houses with dogs or intervene when you see somebody abusing other people. I also live in the NT in a village where, I have been told foreigners and even Hongkongers coming from other places are not welcomed. Lucky you if you have never been victim of race discrimination here.
I am truly amazed by Great Chinese culture and very advanced technology. From high speed rails and bullet trains to EV’s,futuristic metros, subways and drones delivering services!Thank you Jay and Karolina for sharing it with us!
As a hongkonger, there are many beautiful places that are less crowded, and the reason why there was so many people was because you guys were in the heart of hong kong, central, the busiest place! And also why the light show was so underwhelming was because it happens every day, and it could cost LOTS to have an amazing and beautiful show every day. And also why the chinese person wanted to take a photo with karolina, was because they usually seem facinated by english speakers and often take videos or photos of them, i also had experience with a chinese person filming me speaking english with my friends. So it’s very common 😅😅

Our pleasure! Thank you so much!!! We’ll be back for sure 😍🙏🏼
Welcome to Hk ❤ It’s a nice place to stay and hope you enjoy the time being in Hk
It really is! We loved HK!!! To the point that we’re already thinking of coming back and exploring more of its local/nature side :)
Hi Jay congratulations on the video you made 😄
Hello Karolina as always you are fantastic how you explain 😘
Welcome to HK,i move in UK now but i miss HK so much, hope you enjoy ❤
Dear Jay & Karolina Welcome to HK
l love the uttermost last part of your narration : so insightful !yr perspectives on dogs owners here are brilliant.
Oh, thank you so much for your kind words :) Glad you enjoyed watching the video!
Thanks for this video particularly after 2 minutes in. I used to live in that building (i.e. New Lucky House) until 2009. It brings back a lot of memories of childhood!
We went hiking more in hk then in the US. Trails are everywhere and easy to get to with the convenient public transportation.
Love your video, clearly you can spot the difference between Mainland and HK. It is always intense and fast in HK. That is the reason why people will get rude sometimes. Still most of us re friendly. Just you can be sure that in HK, people can understand you.
Really enjoyed your video. Great vibrant city. I was there years ago.❤
Thank you! It’s really nice for you to compliment the country as I’m from HK ❤️ I hope you enjoyed your time, it may seem busy but it the local areas like Tusen Wan it is not busy and it has markets and cool restaurants and stores 🙂
We loved it! Really would want to be back one day and explore more of HK :)
@JayandKarolina that's good! I'm glad you enjoyed your stay :) there's also many fun activities to do, I really Strongly recommend ocean park HK. It's a wonderful theme park with many rides! Also there's unique things like the big bounce Asia! (not sure if it's permanent) it's the biggest bounce castle for child and grown people in the world. ❤️😊
Mr. Jay & Miss Karoline:Thanks you guys so much for your new amazing video to heads Hong Kong, China two weeks ago in Asia to visits many amazing places & Landmarks on the streets in great joy November of 2024❤❤❤
Welcome to my home town. Visit Sai Kung if you have the chance for a slower pace of life to the city and a chance to visit a peaceful fishing town with opportunities to do a lot of hiking and natural sightseeing.
Welcome To HK!!! Nice to hear that you love the foods here !
Thanks! 😃 All the foods we've tried were just AMAZING! We're going to upload a full food tour as our next video so hope you'll enjoy watching that too!!!
glad to know that you both like Hong Kong 😀
I hope you guys enjoyed the city that I grew up in. Thanks for sharing your amazing journey.
Thanks for watching! We truly did 😍
Thanks for visiting HK, and I watched entire video. I’m glad you enjoyed the trip during in HK.
If you like hiking, next time you should consider going to “Sai Kung” to discover more beautiful and unique scenery there.
Sounds good! Thanks for the tip! We’ll definitely make sure to get our way back to HK at some point in the future because we really enjoyed our time there ❤️
Oh man, this video wasn't short, but it's already half an hour when i realized it, sth mesmerizing of the video maybe 😅. at first i was interested to see what a British would think about hk, and it's good to know that you feel like home.
Welcome to HK and have a good time
The golden pig statue is a famous Hong Kong cartoon character called McDull.
I am from Hong Kong and mcdull is my favourite program
You ordered one roast pork and one roast goose. The latter one you mistakenly said it’s pork. It’s pretty funny you can’t tell goose meat from pork. This restaurant you queued for such long time is famous for their roost goose. 😂
Love your video and thank you so much for introducing HK. It's really good to see you enjoying here! Enjoy your days~~~
Thank you!! 😊 We’re so happy to hear that the positive energy is visible in our blog because we truly loved our time in HK ❤️🇭🇰
The breakfast in Wah Sing restaurant is one of the most delicious breakfast I always eat but now I relocate abroad. I miss it very much. Thanks for your sharing!
Hi Jay, all of the local HK style restaurant have to add sugar by yourself, which is the container next to Karolina
We're heading to Hong Kong for a 2 weeks break in just less than 2 weeks time, can't wait!
welcome
Highly recommend you to try Dim Sum in H.K.
You can try the Ki’s Roasted Goose Restaurant! There are many branches in different places and usually does not need to queue. Although it may not be the best but this should be much cheaper than the first restaurant in the video!🤣
Oriental pearl! HONGKONG! Here we come !!!🥰
seems you have visited some great places in hk. the milk tea from Capital Cafe is simply the best you can get. hope you two had some great time here and do come again ❤
We had such an amazing time in HK - we were even considering coming back simply to have that breakfast again 😂😂
Happy to see this video. Welcome to Hong Kong! Also, a warm pineapple bun with cold butter is a perfect match! Glad that you can taste that in Hong Kong!
Yea
They're friendly to you because you are a Westerner.
Welcome to HK
@@r.t1576That is your experience and I understand how you feel, but it does not invalidate our experience AS VISITORS. 😊 We love Hong Kong. 🇭🇰
@@louisechan517 yes! 👋 I love the egg tart it is super yummy and tasty when I go to my local dimsum :) hk is a great place for food
Welcome to HK,hope you. enjoy the trip
Glad u enjoyed ur stay in here❤️I’m rlly glad u like it since i live in HK myself
Happy to see a RUclipsr introducing this place, welcome!
Please come again next year to attend the annual International Rugby-7 to be held at our brand new Kai Tak Stadium cladded with external pearly coated panels.
Take the star ferry at night and enjoy the amazing night scenery
I always take the star ferry lower level not only because it's cheaper (important to a kid like me😆) but also because of its open enclosure and close to the water
Welcome to my hometown! I recognize every places that you have shown here!😊
Hello! I'm also a Hong Konger, but i moved to the UK early in life. I couldn't help but wanting to tell you that the strainer is to make the milk tea smoother and more blended.
Thanks for sharing!! We loved both of them HK-style teas 😍
Actually you don't need a vpn in mainland China. Just use your home country sim card and add/buy a roaming package and there you can open any website you want.
It's a good tip! But we have also another solution --> our Holafly eSIMs also worked perfectly! ✅ Check out their UNLIMITED DATA eSIMS 👉 bit.ly/4d01800 (with our code JAYKAROLINA is 5% OFF)
The roaming packages are way more expensive than getting local sims plus VPN.
HONGKONG is definitely an amazing international city❤China has all types of landforms except fjord landforms. Each city has its own style. You can see wooden buildings from a thousand years ago in China, and you can taste countless delicacies in China. You can see beautiful scenery, and it is very safe, with convenient transportation and developed tourism.
@@kwmon612Try saying that in public in Hong Kong in 2024 and you'll find out very quickly that it definitely is 🙄
@@kwmon612
With that prejudiced thinking, you are not going to be happy for the rest of your life.
@@ankHank-fs1zr at least I laughed when I saw your bullshit lol

Keep laughing then as if losing your marbles

I gonna be there in 2 weeks. So it's nice to see your video.
We're so glad to hear that! Safe travels!!!
Thank you so much for visiting Hong Kong! It's an incredible place, and I'm so proud to call it my birthplace. Your video captures the beauty and spirit of this amazing city. Hope you enjoyed your time here!
Glad you enjoyed it! Our pleasure! We would definitely need to come back to explore more of the local HK :)
So glad you two had an enjoyable trip in Hong Kong. Love and blessings from Hong Konger
Hello, welcome to Hong Kong ❤
Korolina is an expert in using chopsticks ! Amazing !
Welcome to Hong Kong, FYI: YES we walk fast, we are not smiling doesn't mean we are not friendly.🧡 Love the pork @12:16. Geese are always expensive (HK rent, worker wages, logistics....) @22:00 those 90 % are Mainland Chinese people, Hong Kong local don't ask to take pic with strangers. We keep soical distancing to other people and yes we welcom polite people to come to Hong Kong.
You hate them ? Mainland Chinese
什么叫中国大陆人?
@@夏天的風真熱呀It means like central china, like shang hai
Welcome to Hong Kong. Enjoy
Welcome to Hong Kong !
As a local Hongkonger really glad you enjoy your stay here, we actually really familiar with tourists from western countries that’s what make us different with China. If you are a nature lover, there are many very nice beaches and hiking trails across the country the views are just superb. Hope to see you guys soon here again!
My "must go to" restaurant whenever I head to HK! Great video Jay & Karolina! I also love your China videos, so would head to those cities like Chong Qing which I hv never been to b4! Thanks!
Thanks for visiting HK and glad you enjoyed your stay
2:23 yes I would not stay there if your budget allows - the building had one of the most fatal fires in hk for many years (quite rare in HK for fires to be fatal other than the direct occupants). 5 people passed away - RIP
Welcome to Hong Kong ❤
I'm from Germany and I came to Hong Kong in 1989. I planned 2 years and I'm still here after 30+ years. I love Hong Kong 🇭🇰 !
Today I live in the countryside and I work in the city. It's a good balance!
I got my motorcycle license here in Hong Kong and I love driving my bike here as I can get anywhere and park anywhere. Hong Kong truly is my home ❤
By the way, the 🍍 bun's are called like this because of the look and they are called "Bo Lou Bau" in Chinese.
菠蘿包🍍😁
Honkongers friendly ? Give me a break ! I have been living here for 20 years and I haven't met that many unless they push me to buy something from them. Youngsters are almost OK but the middle aged not so much.
@@wayankartini2091you are pride and prejudice
@@wayankartini2091Can you speak Cantonese?i think they cant speak english so feel shy....
