The best part of Hong Kong is super high-efficient public transport to get you to most of the spots in the city. It is relatively clean and English friendly compared to many Asian cities. You can find a lot of colonial and modern Chinese history if you feel interested. Islands and beaches are not that far to visit. A wide range of dishes selection from multinational cuisines deep in the local alleys to Michelin Star restaurants amid fancy skyscrappers you'd never miss. Extremely high food safety and you never hesitage about anything harmful gose into your body. Nightlife and parties also ready in the city center and bar streets in Kowloon side to relax after a busy day. Trust me, Hong Kong is amazing!
To be honest, Hong Kong is still relatively safe compare to a lot of North American cities. I can carry my mobile phone and wallet safely in my hands without worrying getting jack by others.
Extremely safe I would say. Red light is directly illuminated down onto pedestrian crossings at the sidewalk so people looking down at their phones are aware it's not safe to walk across the road, an implication being that your phone is highly unlikely to be snatched out of our hands by another person.
Unfortunately that's the only advantage, HK is safe only because it's a small city with CCTV's everywhere, local citizens all run out of HK to spend their money else where. It doesnt mean the crimes have gone down, they are actually increasing, just changed forms into frauds and scams. Robberies are rare on the streets, but they just changed into forms of breaking into houses and other properties, and occasionally robbing the jewelry shops or watch shops
You might not get to this in your first visit but there’s a LOT of world class hiking trails with a variety of terrain and of course stunning city, sea, bay and mountain views.
Hiya Hongkonger here! Thanks for this great video! Few discrepancies: 1. Don’t know if anyone has said it yet, but at 3:18, the caption shows “Hong Kong Island” but the footage is taken at Tsun Sha Tsui which is on the Kowloon Peninsula. 2. The cable car ride is actually not from HK Island as the graphics show at 16:16 😂 you are already on Lantau Island (Tung Chung to be precise) when you take the cable car. Hope you enjoyed the stay~
There are some nice trails for hikes around all parts of Hong Kong, also would recommend spending half a day going to the outer islands by ferry where there are some smaller villages and remnants of old fishing villages.
It was, prolly before 2008 lol the huge influx of immigrants didn’t seem to be willing to assimilate into the local culture, unfortunately. It’s not as clean and safe as it was before
@@Kln2224 are you living here to confirm this? I'd love to visit HK one day. Actually, my family and I was the "boat people", we stayed in HK in 1979 as refugees in a camp called "Kai Tak". I think that is how it's spelled. Anyways, didn't get to do much because we were inside the camp all of the time, I was about 9 years old at the time so did not get to see much of the city.
A very comprehensive coverage indeed! If there're anything else to add, I'd suggest the short walking trail next to the Peak Tram stop on top of the mountain; Tai O, which is an old fishing village accessible from the Po Lin Monastery; and the cycle tracks in the New Territories
The answer is YES! It's absolutely worth visiting. I was shocked to see the change in tourist numbers. Nice job showing the tourist hot spots and how to get around. It's one of my favourite places on earth.
My family have been visiting a few times to Hong Kong, absolutely love the city and food. Hong Kong is one of a kind city, there’s no another place can comparing with them. When you eat soup dumplings, you put one in a larger spoon, add your vinegar and hot sauce as you prefer, poke a hole so that the soup leaks out to let it cool down a bit, because it can be very hot inside the dumpling. Then you bite off a portion, or the whole thing if you have a big mouth, and eat it. You let all the soup leak out of the little spoon before you put your dumpling onto your little spoon.
I lived in New York, San Francisco, London, Shanghai, and now i am in Hong Kong. Its safe to say none of the other cities have more fun than Hong Kong. Its super convenient and efficient; the food is fantastic; and you can be in a wild mountain fighting with boars within one hour of public transportation😂
Hong Kong is so worth visiting! Safe environment, amazing amazing food and city view, world class public transport. I have visited like 4 times already and still never get tired of it!

Bamboo is repairing air conditioning and construction sometimes Taoist festivals in Hong Kong. I am learning water plumbing which I learnt peoples fall off these because of the ropes they use
Enjoyed the video but i don't feel it's really accurate. My parents come to visit me every year and they don't find it full on at all as they like hiking and going to the beaches and visiting all the outlying islands. Spend your days in shek O, Stanley, Sai Kung etc and HK is pretty chill. And just to be clear HK definitely doesn't "have a land scarcity problem" its got a land supply issue and I'm not playing semantic games here - those 2 things are very different. Its a bit too long too explain here but essentially as the HK gov raises the majority of it's revenue outside of taxation, via land sales its in its interest to keep the price artificially very high by only releasing small packets at auction at any given time. Developers who win the land horde it in their land banks for the same reason. Actually HK has millions of hectares of greyfield sites in the New Territories and of course 65 percent of HK land mass is designated as country park. So it's not a land scarcity issue per se at all
Foreigners probably find it difficult to say “Ngong”. It’s a bit nasal to pronounce it. Try to say “longing”, but hush the first syllable to get “nging”. Replace “ing” with “ong”, and you’ll get “ngong”. Never pronounce it as “en+gong” in 2 syllables.
I think so! We felt very safe and we didn’t encounter any sketchy people. I bet solo female travelers on Reddit have given their experience. I would check there too!

From my understanding, it’s both
Both
3/4 of the land area are country parks not allowed to be developed . Built up area is only about 1/4 of the total area if HK.
Bamboo is repairing air conditioning and construction sometimes Taoist festivals in Hong Kong. I am learning water plumbing which I learnt peoples fall off these because of the ropes they use
And no, we can be not respectful because our languages can put swearinv in a sentence because of high rents and expenses
Have you been to HK Disneyland?
Not yet, we will go on our next trip to HK!
So it's not a land scarcity issue per se at all
Nice video !!
Thanks! 🤘🏽
It’s On-Ping instead of Yong-Pong. It’d be more comprehensive if you visit the nature and mountains and islands HK too
@winsonwslau264
Well, to be more precise it should be pronounced as "ngong 昂 ping 平"。
Foreigners probably find it difficult to say “Ngong”. It’s a bit nasal to pronounce it. Try to say “longing”, but hush the first syllable to get “nging”. Replace “ing” with “ong”, and you’ll get “ngong”. Never pronounce it as “en+gong” in 2 syllables.
I think you mixed up a Michelin star and Michelin guide restaurants
Yea I should have been more clear about that lol they were all part of Michelin guide 😂
Would you say it’s safety travel their alone (as a woman)?
I think so! We felt very safe and we didn’t encounter any sketchy people. I bet solo female travelers on Reddit have given their experience. I would check there too!
Absolutely ! You can be in LKF very late and not be harrassed or otherwise be bothered.
🤷♂️ I’m an American who married a Chinese girl 15 years ago and lived here for 15 years. I’m even a citizen here now.. so much has changed I can’t tell you if it’s worth it or not lol. Been here too long
So, you were with most Hong Kongers in 2019.

Hong Kong is definitely one of the best cities in the world and now even safer and more stable because we now have the National Security Law (NSL)!
