After years of apple I switched to pixel in March. I got the 8 then I got a notification in August to upgrade... I was like bro I just got this phone 😅
I had no problem with the Pixel 9 series coming out with Android 14, because it was working fine. It worked wonderfully with my Pixel 9. Really nice battery life and I had 0 heating or connection issues. I have only had Android 15 for a day or so and it's got one or two features I like, otherwise it seams like a feature drop for me.
I was very happy with Android 14 and so far Android 15 feels like subtle changes and refinements to 14 for the most part. I don't have anything on Android 14 now to compare to but the animations when changing between apps and different screens feels a little different in a good way. I'm digging it

I have two phones pixel 7A and pixel 8. My pixel 7A has the Android beta on it which I got the 15 over 4 months ago and now I just downloaded the Android 15 on the pixel 8 but it looks different like a 14 plus kind of a thing.
I've been running Android 15 for about 3 weeks. I'm in the beta program. This is a good phone. I have the OnePlus 12 and the s24 Ultra and I've been stuck on this phone since I got it. That's how Well I like it.

I have Android 15 with the December 2024 feature update on my Pixel 6a and the settings menu gets a redesign in that, but I am not too sure about it at the moment. One thing I am noticing in the real world (I am in the UK) is seeing more people using Pixel phones whereas I had previously felt like I was the only one. Though, I think it will be sometime before Pixel will be up there with the likes of Samsung and Apple in terms of sales, but I am sure it will happen in time. With those who are calling the Tensor midrange etc... I would have a guess that they are the kind of people who base their views on phones based on Geekbench scores rather than real-world usage. I can film, edit and render using PowerDirector in 4K30 (my frame rate preference) on my 8 Pro with no issues at all.
My pixel 7a easily keeps up with my iPhone 13, in fact it seems smoother and quicker. I keep my display at 60hz and scrolling is much smoother than my iPhones 60hz
Android 15 with adaptive performance hints actually lowered temps on pixel 7 by 5-6c and that's huge when your ambient temps are above 30c. Runs cooler and idle temp is on par with pixel 4a or 5a. Much better idle battery drain and 100% battery after 8hrs of standby on 370 charge cycle. Screen rotation is too responsive and buggy sometimes. Geekbench 6 Single-Core: 1471 Multi-Core: 3631
I really like my Pixel 9Pro. Used it up in College station while visiting my daughter. Took some pics and surprised my wife with a “Add Me” photo while walking around an antique market. Pretty cool little trick. She’s on the Apple 15Pro, which she likes. This little trick got her thinking about her future in Android, at least I think it did. Stay safe in Japan. I love my 9 pro xl over the s24 ultra for software. Like it's so smooth and buttery. Samsung has more customization that is true and more zoom on the camera. Other than that I'm gravitating towards pixel more on day to day use. Design wise too I prefer pixel.

Using the pixel 7 pro Ever since the update there has been an Instagram glitch / Bug I can't skip through someone's story by tapping the right side of the screen it just freezes. No videos on RUclips so far discussing the issue.
I watched someone's video saying they improved Instagram camera and also even added night sight if you're taking a video on Instagram, I guess that's why yours is glitching, try restarting the phone and updating your Instagram app
How do you keep everything synced between all the different phones? I keep going between my s23 ultra and the pixel 9 Pro XL and having to go from the pixel 9 to the Samsung you can use Smart switch but going the other direction I'm having to use the SMS backup app that just completely destroys the imported text messages. Lol

I got an S22 Ultra which must've been from a bad batch cause I've been having alot of connection issues most likely due to a faulty motherboard (never dropped it once) so I'm looking to upgrade. I don't care about ecosystems too much so S24 Ultra, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and Iphone 16 Pro Max are on the same playing field, but I'm mostly concerned about antenna and modem signal strength since my job has me in deadzones sometimes. If I don't have to worry about not having cell and mobile data that'd be awesome. Have you noticed any differences in that regard between those 3 phones where you can make a solid recommendation? I'd appreciate it brother
buy whatever u like & depends if u rly need it now or if u can wait a bit longer the new SD gen 4 / Ultra comes this october/november for china & early next year worldwide. so it could be worth waiting just a bit. Iphones are overrated imo & forces u too much to their own ecosystem. Pixel or any other phones dont rly force u & have mostly the same featureset across the board, u may only get it a month later, thats the only difference.

I'll need something that can power through some deadzones for my job and having to rely on mifi and whatsapp can get a little annoying. I got 2 phones. The 6a and the 7. I just upgraded the 6a to the 9 and I'm going to upgrade the 7 to the 10. I've been waiting for 3 years for the tsmc chip. I thought tensor would be junk until then but I have to say the basic pixel 9 is pretty spot on. If I were you I would probably wait till the 10 unless ur like me and have 2 phones but then again the pixel 9 series is really refined. I can't believe I would say that about an exynos chip but give credit where credit is due
I will always maintain if Google want to charge iPhone prices, they need to put better processors in their phones. Tensor G4 is fine today, but it still struggles with multitasking and its performance longevity is going to be poor.
I wish the battery 🔋 was a Little better on the 9 Pro XL , I wish the auto brightness worked right because when I turn mine off it still doing it and that kills my battery and keeps it a little warm 🥵 I might trade it in for the iphone 15 pro max I found a 1 TB for like a little over $1100.00 with At&t ...😢. 3 year contract of course but that's a good deal for a TB

Even on fake benchmarks the G4 single core is 1966 and SD 8gen 3 is 2100 on multi core Pixel is 4600 and SD 6500. Tensor G4 is more than capable
