@@ocho33Voyage is amazing, but don’t sleep on Legend. I think I had more fun on Legend than Voyage (except trimless Voyage 👑).
And while I’m at it…don’t sleep on Raven either. That park easily has the best woodie collection in the world. Their worst woodie could easily be a #1 woodie at most parks. Unreal.

Oh I'm so glad Prowler made this list! I'm also very glad you got a night ride. Truly one of a kind. This coaster is top notch at night during Halloween though. There's a haunted house next door so the fog machines fill the valley this coaster sits in, making it a truly ethereal experience.

I'm close to riding all of America's wood coasters & towards that goal did an extensive trip in 2022 & was blown away by several coasters on this great video. Voyage, at night, now takes the honor of second most intense & insane coaster I've ridden. First is Texas Cyclone b4 it was tamed. Rode Legend years ago with Gerstlauers & didn't like it, but now it's incredible! Gold Striker has become a favorite & Ghostrider absolutely kicks ass. Fell in love with Apocalypse, too. Thunderhead became another favorite & at night it hints at the intensity of Voyage. Mystic Timbers blew me away! I was completely shocked & caught off guard by 3 little Gravity Group coasters whose power, airtime & laterals are just insane for their size, Wooden Warrior, Roar O Saurus, and Kentucky Flyer! Incredible, all 3! If anyone is passing these because they're small, _think twice_ and ride them! Oscar's Wacky Taxi is great, too! I'm a Texan & Boardwalk Bullet is my current #3 or #4, it's a top-tier ride! Rampage has been a top 10 since it opened. Have you ridden the incredible Vancouver Coaster? Your wood coaster taste looks similar to mine & Coaster is one of my favorites. LOVE Coney Cyclone, too!

I got to ride Mine Blower as my first big wooden coaster in February. It's really unfortunate that it's somehow so brutal but god DAMN the layout is awesome. So much powerful airtime, the timberliners are amazingly comfortable, and the zero g roll is also one of Florida's best inversions. Thankfully, John Arie Jr (CEO of Fun Spot America) said during a tour of ArieForce One before it opened that he's aware of how rough Mine Blower is, and a retrack will most likely happen in the late summer/early fall. About damn time.

...Other notable wooden coasters I've ridden:
    - Mr. Twister at the original Elitch Gardens was the first *big* coaster I ever rode. At the time, it was a little too much for me, but I rode it years later and was able to appreciate it. It was an amazing ride, a lateral-packed twister layout with nothing but a buzzbar restraint. Twister at Knoebels is an attempt at evoking it; I have not ridden that so don't know how it compares.
    - The Yankee Cannonball at my home park, Canobie Lake Park, is a classic 1930s out-and-back that seems to be a polarizing ride now: a lot of enthusiasts think the retracking it got several years back robbed it of power. I just appreciate how smooth it made the ride, honestly. It's a very popular ride in any event and always seems to have a half-hour-plus line.

I live in Northern California and am happy to see the venerable Giant Dipper in Santa Cruz make your list. It's my favorite roller coaster, but I am a chicken so taller and more extreme rides don't appeal to me. I haven't been to Great America in Santa Clara in decades, and having taken a recent interest in roller coasters, I now feel the need to try to get there to ride Gold Striker. I'm a little afraid it will be too extreme for me, but knowing the park is slated to close, I feel compelled to try to ride it.

I feel like maybe Joris en de Draak at Efteling deserves a spot, even if at the bottom of this list. That pre drop has some good laterals and speed and if you sit in the back, there's some decent airtime in the first drop. The lay-out is really good, the only complaint I have is at the very end, just before the finish it lets off a bit. Also, it's very loud. But the dueling element is also cool.

I've also been on Rampage, Cornball Express, Hades 360, and Goliath (SfGAM), and plan on getting on Shivering Timbers later this year. You aren't the only one that puts Renegade over Mystic Timbers. I also have it one spot ahead. Both are very good rides although I also agree with you that GoldStriker is the best GCI. But I would take GhostRider over GoldStriker. Again nice list!

El Toro is a ride I’ve grown to hate, haven’t ridden Coastasaurs since it’s first year as a LEGOLAND coaster. I think Wodan might be my only GCI and it’s my #1 over Blue Fire and Steel Vengeance. I haven’t ridden the Holiday World woodies since 2016 and I have family out there so I have no excuse not to go to Holiday World-no club membership necessary. I prefer Wacky Taxi to Timber simply because the latter always left me stapled out of the gate. I did get to ride Wildcat in 2017 so I didn’t have any reason to go back for it and I find Lightning Racer enjoyable-but I need to get back on Comet. I’d still put Phoenix over Twister, but it’s close. Coaster Express is either rough af or forceless, but I did find HellCat’s second half to more than make up for its first half which is bad as people say it is. I need to ride more GCI’s and I’ve always classed Lightning Rod as it’s own thing. It’s like the Norristown High Speed Line, it defies categorization

While I don't think it would stand up to the modern wooden coaster, one wooden coast I really liked back in the day (1970's) was the original Mr. Twister at the original Elitch Gardens park. It was an amazing ride that usually made the top-10 lists of coasters in the US. Sadly, the current Twister II at the current Elitch's location is brutal; the ride is rough, the laterals are brutal, and they removed most of the best elements of the original (only the original hill and drop remain). To try the classics, I would love to ride the Big Dipper and the Coney Island Cyclone -- however, no idea when...

This guy knows coasters! “The Voyage” at Holiday World is THEE best wooden coaster operating. The now defunct “Son Of Beast” might’ve been the only thing better. The thing was over 7,000 feet long with a 218 foot drop, making it a wooden hyper-coaster, and it reached 78 mph. I never got to ride the thing, damnit. So I’ll never know just how great it was. The Voyage, though, is the best thing going now….

Ok... so when I road Voyage in 2015... it was rough... I have been back now in October of 2023 and road it 9 times. I've processed this.... In its current condition.... it is the best wooden rollercoaster by far... though Ravine Flyer 2(plan to ride next season)looks very similar it is only half as long. I will be at Holiwood Nights and I am really excited to experience Voyage at night trimless.

While I think that goldstriker has amazing pacing and good laterals I rode it about 10 times last year when I went to CGA and was not overly amazed with the hype it continually gets. I might’ve just caught it on a bad day but I got almost no airtime. However Ghostrider constantly gives ridiculous airtime anytime I ride it and probably one of the best night rides. I think ghost should’ve been a bit higher but I can see where you’re coming from with goldstriker. Everyone has their preferences with woodies and I love seeing how everyone puts them at different spots.

I must be in the minority but I’ve never gotten the appeal of thunderhead. Maybe my times I’ve ridden it was running poorly but I never found it particularly intense or to give any noteworthy forces. Maybe I’m spoiled by Renegade at my home park (only thing valleyfair spoils you with) and my work trips to china for wooden coasters (which are my favorite) but thunderhead is far outside my top 25 wood coasters

T express (i rode it and couldn't even believe the ejector airtime)
