Gci is overall a great manufacturer. They have now found out who they are and how to make a good woodie, yet their old ones provide excellent new RMC hybrids. It’s a win win for everyone
Its crazy to see the maintenance side between park companies. Almost every ride at six flags was rougher than most and especially the ones in china. Then theres the glossy smooth povs from cedar fair parks. I have to say cedar fair does a dang good job maintaining their rides
This video made me realize the GCIs I like are like Batman clones. I prefer the compact crazy twisters. I'm not a fan of GCI out and back or drawn out coasters I prefer CCI / GGI versions of those but their compact twisters are incredible. Some of them like Thunderhead and G-Striker are so relentless I love them!
Crazy to see how this manufacturer changed so much overtime, from making rough, boring rides, to making some of the best wood coasters out there. Haven’t been on any of there rides as I only have 27 credits but hope to go to Hershey soon!
Lightning Racer is my 3rd favorite woodie I've ridden. Now I've only rode 6 woodies, but it's still a great ride. Just a bit rough, but not enough to be uncomfortable.
Love this compilation! I’m mostly probably gonna like Ghostrider and Mystic Timbers the most they look really good can’t wait to get rides on both upcoming.
It's amazing how GCI once were clearly inferior to CCI and Gravity Group but now they are building better coasters than the ones CCI built and some of them better than Gravity Group. GCI has had an amazing and continuously improving run ever since they started their business in 1994.
Really enjoyed this compilation!!! Would love to see more of these type of videos!! Hitting Busch Gardens for first time in like 15 years next week!! Last time I was there, Alpengeist newest coaster, lol
I’ve been on 18 of these and I’ll get my 19th this summer. A few weeks ago I stood and watched Bombay Express test, and talked to ride ops who’d ridden it, but of course I couldn’t ride. :-(
Wood coaster at Knight Valley and Python in Bamboo Forest are the two best, with Ghostrider coming in #3rd since it was just a GCI re-track and not a GCI original. I've ridden Ghostrider but I've not yet been to China. But since I've ridden Ghostrider: I can say it's much better than Wicker Man AND Apocalypse, the 2 other GCI's I've ridden.
Kinda crazy to think that we see coasters like Roar as 'old' nowadays, but they must have been considered as pretty extraordinary when they opened. That definitely looked like some sideways airtime too on Roar, under the canopy towards the end. Kinda a shame that Six Flags like to put copycat rides in most of their parks.
@@cb_styx3392 never said that, just that GCIs don't make great RMCs... which (unless you build a lift like 1.5x the original height of said GCI) still remains true
Ngl I prefer the out and back ones bc I feel like they have more airtime on them and they can be more crazier then the compact ones I mean look at mystic Timbers (my fav gci) it has some very good sold airtime on like every hill and it’s very snappy which is what I love abt it
How are we counting? Z Force/Flashback is technically B&Ms first coaster. Yes it says Intamin on RCDB but B&M designed it while they both worked for Giovanola
Their style remained the same since the first coaster, with some exceptions of course. Imo they should keep building twister layouts and less out an back stuff
Look I got to ride ghost rider in 2000 when it was running like a dream, the original trackwork and PTC trains, and I got a couple front row rides and 5 back row rides, the last which was at the end of the night in pitch black and it was out of control. Honestly my friend and I were just breathless by the end. I've ridden a few GCI woodies and everything I rode after that just didn't compare for me. BUT.. I haven't ridden two of the cedar fair GCI's - I rode wildcat in 2001 when was still smooth, Roar and both parks in the opening year as that year was a 28 state road trip from west to east then north and back, Gwazi both sides, Lightning racer when it was new and racing, thunderhead, a few in europe, nothing comes close to GR.. GR is long and has everything.. The only wood coaster I liked better was Voyage and again, not a GCI. My third favourite coaster of the lot I rode was wild one but that's an old relocated coaster. Phoenix was ok (overrated), twister was ok (overrated) but it's entirely possible they weren't running that well that afternoon on the two rides we had on each (one in front, one in back). Again not GCIs but better than almost all GCIs. I don't consider GR a GCI cause all they did was retrack, reprofile ONE drop slightly and remove a trim that wasn't there to begin with. It's a CCI coaster and the layout shows. Villain was pretty good in 2001, another CCI, Boss the next year I think it was was great when new, I just didn't like GCI.
