Haven’t played Rebirth yet, but in Remake Tifa literally stops Cloud from killing the random Shinra mooks who interrogated Johnny. She doesn’t like killing. Fortunately there are a lot of robots and monsters for her to fight.

Cloud does something similar in the original when he gives Sephiroth the black material in it at the North Crater. Which I think we’ll see that in part 3. To be fair, I think part 3 will probably be the largest one story wise and there are still quite a few locations for us to go we haven’t seen yet.

The people whom he's currently with (that we control) are constantly killing animals and humans. It's just when Sephiroth gets in his head they show the scenes more brutally... With blood. Elena was about to pop Red with that gun. She had no problem with killing him before that ceiling fell in. I get Tifa and Aerith and trying to reach him. But we just killed a whole battlelion of shinra soldiers. It's just weird that all of the sudden the team has a moral compass.

She was about to kill Red before Cloud fell through the roof with no hesitation. The Turks had wanted dead or alive posters up everywhere. They're responsible for all the other dead avalanche characters. Killed numerous people in sector seven just so they could put the blame solely on Avalanche. So for me it's a little irritating to have the characters say... You know what Cloud...stop! When minutes prior we just slaughtered numerous Soldiers.

It's the detachment I think, she knows that Sephiroth justifies his brutality by detaching himself from the act of murder, killing people just for the sadistic pleasure of it. She knows that Cloud is not like that, but that he could become that if she didn't try to appeal to his humanity in these moments where Sephiroth's influence is so heavy on Cloud's psyche
