I think perhaps the bracket doesn't go under the roll-bar, that raises the roll-bar on the passenger side approx 1/8", doesn't make sense. Also, the radius wouldn't be cut into the bracket if it went underneath the roll-bar. Try mounting the bracket on top of the roll-bar base-plate, that will put things back to where they should be.
Thanks for pointing that out. I just checked the instructions again and I see that the plate does go on top of the roll bar. I'm not sure how I missed that. It shouldn't be too hard for me to get that changed around so that the door closes better
How did you connect the wires for the third break light? I have the white and orange from the Jeep connected to the black wire on the taillight and the black wire from the Jeep connected to the red on the taillight. The white wire from the taillight is grounded
How did the right side of the tailgate align to the body after the install? On another YT video, with the same Rusty's HD tire carrier, the right side of the tailgate ended up not aligning with the body, and it's pretty clear in his video. I'm thinking about this carrier, but wouldn't be happy with the amount of misalignment. Thanks in advance for any insight.
I didn't put the top bracket in properly where it meets the roll bar. Still haven't fixed that and tried to realign everything. The right side isn't correct now but I haven't touched that jeep in forever to get it corrected
@@ExitOffroad The other YT guy I mentioned installed the brace on top of the roll bar and his tailgate is still misaligned. You may end up moving the brace to on top of the roll bar base, and be misaligned too. Good luck. Thanks for your reply.
Where did you get the tire carrier? Did you get it staight from Rusty's? Good Video by the way. i have a LJ i am getting one for looked at rugged ridge and morryde. I like this one the best but it is almost twice the price.
Do you know what size those original bolts that’s on the tailgate. I don’t have on there and getting ready to install rusty tire carrier Was hoping Rusty’s provide bolts for the Tailgate

I got it right from Rusty's. It's super strong and definitely the way to go if you have a heavy tire and wheel
