DIRT DAILY. Adding an AEV tire carrier to my Jeep

- I've been hauling my spare tire in the back seat of my Jeep and it takes up too much storage space. It's time to kick it out to the bumper. The American Expedition Vehicles rear tire carrier recently showed up and on this episode we install it so the dogs have more room in the back of the Jeep.
If you're looking for a great rear bumper for your jeep wrangler check out AEV at the link below.

It' just good to see Fred doing his Fred thing still, it really is.
AEV really compliments the style language of the OEM. I really like that. Very elegant, matching finishes and materials. Love it.
good on you Fred .. a lesser man would have just pretended the gas caddy didn't exist .. lol
I helped lift a neighbor's trailer from the ditch with a hi-lift jack. I bought one and know how to use it safely thanks to Fred!
Having a rig that can go on Ultimate Adventure, and take you cross country I think would be the best of both worlds. Good job, Fred.
Looking good Fred👊🏻👊🏻. It’s awesome having you and Dave release videos on the same day…almost, close to, kind of like the good old days
❤ Fred’s work.
That spare tire carrier is really a nice piece with the bronze bushings and grease zerk.
While my dog was sitting on my lap watching this video with me, she really appreciated seeing you ask your dog to help install the carrier mount.
Now I want a jeep. And a place to drive it. And 37s. :)
Thank you, Mr. mayor
That's a sweet set up!
Nice doggy
Nice. Looks clean and functional.
Fred ,you should relocate the 3rd brake light on top of the vertical poll above the fuel jerrycan , so you don't have to remove it anytime you change a tyre and break or damage wiring
And NOW you have so much more room for activities 😁👍
Fred how do you get fuel out caddy ?? Oh thanks for update at end 😂
There’s a tube that goes from the caddy to the gas cap
GREAT INSTALL.
It was cool seeing you at expo and kinda sorry I gave you crap on the van but much respect and willing to help after dealing with vans for years.
Looking good.
i love newb sock!
Fred! Drive to Indiana and let’s go wheelin’!
I was just about to ask how you'd fill up without taking the tire/can off. I love those shake siphon hoses.
Always looking forward to Fred!
I would love it if AEV included a plastic, cut to fit spacer sleeve for the tire carrier bracket. Space it, measure it, , cut it, and when everything it put together, it helps to prevent rattles AND covers the bolt, wiring, etc. Kind of a finish piece for if you don’t have the fuel caddy.
I disagree on the on x challenge. Nate really knocked it out of the park. Ya know Dave is gonna kill it. They get my votes!!!
Sweet setup!
That's a nice lookin shirt.
Well, I'm going to be using "the whole shootin' match" forever now.
I hope there is some kind of lock system, because you only need to remove two bolts and you can steal the gas can, mount, and spare tire
Going to be a lot of that 37” spare in your rear view mirror…
hate on the 2 missing thumps out exhaust pipe but you can't hate that 305hp
If you ever wanted to know how much of a minimalist Fred is, he went camping for a week with a big tire in the back of a 2 door Jeep and didn’t need the space.
Great content. That is a lot of work to use the fuel can. I can see gas going bad in that contraption.
Why on earth am I watching this at 4 am in the morning, I don’t even own a Jeep.😢
When are we going to get an update on the Porsche? What are the plans for that build?
Too cool 👍👍
Very cool to see you doing what you love. Need more dog cameos! Do you have any recommendations for a 2006 LJ swing away tire carrier that are on par with the AEV? Keep on Keepin ON!
Thats a lot of weight hanging of the back of the jeep100 lbs for tire and rim plus around 50 lbs for fuel plus weight of tire carrier and fuel container. Probably close to 200 lbs
I want to run 38 inch tires but I’m confused about adjusting the carrier. So is it only 2 bolts that I need to adjust? The one in the back and the one on top? When you loosen them you can pull out the part that holds the three bolts for the spare to fit the wider tire? I can’t find any clear videos on adjusting it for a bigger tire size. Also the gas thing won’t fit right because the 38 will be bigger and not fit into it so Idk. 🤷🏽♂️
Hey Fred Im digging newb/noob Sock where did you get that rainbow rooster sticker from?
Do they recommend a siphion to get the gas out?
You sure those are not oil-lite bronze bushings? If so NO GREASE
Ok, but how are you getting 10 gallons of fuel out of that and into the jeep? Seems too complicated if you have to remove everything. Also, change the third brake light out for one that mounts behind the wheel to make access simpler.
And then he comes back and answers my question at the very end😂
Fred how in gods name are you going to see out the back?
side mirrors!
First
Fred we all love 'ya but videos of bolt-on stuff is just pointless.
