In my in-depth review of Sonic Spinball I take a look at a game that I didn't really give a fair chance until now. Can this Pinball-Spin-Off flip my opinion?
Sonic Spinball was developed by Sega Technical Institute and published by Sega for the Mega Drive / Genesis and Game Gear in the year 1993 and 1994. In '95 a Master System Version followed in PAL Regions.

I remember having this for Christmas 93. I think it was the first time I became aware of things being made by different people, cause the feel was all wrong. God knows how I beat it as a kid. Such was the love for Sonic I guess

@@TheBeird same. I never got this game as a kid but the minute I played it I was low key disappointed. Didn’t feel like sonic at all
This is a childhood fave of mine! I use to put time into this and found it super hard to beat it consistently like the other sonic games I played.
Sometimes shots feel luck based thanks to the weird physics but what I remember from this is the music. Each track has a feel that fits its level perfectly and I think sound emulation on the ps2 collection is off slightly cus, to me, it fits perfectly.
Yes, even the options menu music has a place in my heart.

Keep up these niche sonic reviews! I’d love to hear your thoughts on sonic labyrinth, it was considered to be the worst sonic game but I remember enjoying it well enough as a kid, I never beat it though. That could be why
I sure will! There will be more Sonic Reviews next Season :) Sonic Labyrinth is a game I only played briefly many years ago.

Spinball felt like a spin off i remember hiring it out and just getting up to Lava powerhouse
This game was hard as hell, I got the final level and that was it. It was OK tho
Yeah there were definetly better Sonic games than this on the Mega Drive...
I've always felt Sega should redo the game using the "regular" Sonic engine. The choppiness and controls were not that great
This game ruined christmas when I got it. I was so jazzed about getting but really sucked at it and I just couldn't bring myself to get into it. a serious disappointment
How many sonic games are they in sega alone
Too many :D They released so many Spin-Offs it's ridiculous.
