The thing that really worries me about Tony's arrogance is that there may be some really bad long term consequences. There have been far too many incidents of wrestlers being hurt in the ring and the refs not taking proper care of them, and it's not new. It started with the person seemingly being knocked out in the tag match, then the multiple head shots of Matt Hardy, a female wrestler having to crawl out of the ring during a match, the Moxley double piledriver debacle... People will get hurt during a match from time to time, but the fact that the refs and other workers continually react in the wrong way should have been addressed by now. Khan just won't listen to any criticism, and can't admit being wrong, and mostly it's comical like his delusion over the audited Wembley attendance numbers (despite also owning a stadium in the UK), but the risks to safety bug me. I wish I could be confident that people like Paige who weren't cleared to work in the WWE are actually safe to take bumps, but I have doubts. Should there be an alternative to WWE with AEW? Absolutely! But that’s not the underlying issue that most everyone sees except the diehard AEW marks: Tony Khan simply isn’t qualified to run AEW and he seems to have some serious mental health issues. He can’t stop attacking WWE while not paying attention to his own shows and the lack of any semblance of a consistent story. He often lashes out against critics of AEW who are making valid claims about dumb things and mistakes they’re making. He quite often does very odd things for a grown man running a business to be doing: hugging grown ass men like the overly horny prom date, making weird appearances on tv doing such idiotic things as hugging a downed Sting on the mat after he got beat down, and generally being oblivious to how he is universally viewed by professionals in the business and the average fans alike. These things paint a very clear picture of a man who isn’t mature for his age and cannot successfully run a business. That’s not even addressing the numerous professional issues that have stemmed from Tony not behaving as a boss. He acts like he’s just running the shows but never steps up to keep AEW in check as the actual boss. Despite having numerous legend around who all have better minds for pro wrestling, Tony never seeks their council to improve his company because he’s unwilling to admit the obvious problems in AEW everyone else but he can see. All of this is merely scratching the surface but it’s enough to explain why AEW under Khan will never work and I’d be shocked if AEW lasts another year or two before it completely implodes.

AEW didn't earn the success they initially had. Tony was handed a massive wrestling company chocked full of talent without doing anything to earn being in such a position. He's the guy who is handed a functional e-fed and three months later it closes because the matches aren't being written, the cards aren't coming out on time, and he's building every single person up and promising them titles. He has the worst possible mindset for a wrestling promoter.
What are you talking about he didn't earn it. That is not how things work in the world of business. You don't earn anything you buy it or invest in it. Now should he be the one booking the show no not all.

Vince was a monster and fool in his own right but we gotta give him credit for being willing to get In the ring and do what he was having his talents do
This was excellent, Well done! IMO Cody leaving was the beginning of the end for the company but the downward spiral really kicked in to high gear when Tony fired Punk. Funny how the AEW diehards and Punk haters were making it like he was 100% the problem but since he left, things have gotten steadily worse both in and out of the ring. I can just imagine Punk, Cody, and Jade (and even Andrade) sitting around backstage at WWE talking about what it was like working for Tony and how bad that ship is sinking.
Very well summarized. We were all so excited in 2019 when we found out that WWE finally has a legit challenger. We all wanted AEW to succeed and do well so that we as fans can enjoy more wrestling content. When you need Edge, Christian, Jericho, Billy Gunn, Sting, who are in their 50s to be on your show, that is an acceptance of defeat. I like all of the above, but it's time to move on. If some of the younger talented guys like Hook, Ricky Starks are smart, they will eventually look to get to WWE. Punk is right. AEW wants to be an indie type promotion with indie style spot fest 5-star matches in front of small crowds. Young bucks have really exposed themselves as sore losers. When you are struggling to bring in big crowds domestically with big ex WWE stars, Indie style matches, what does that tell you? There is no direction, no vision, no leadership.
Great work, Mish! The hard work and long fkn hours that you pour into Soup invigorates everything around you. And no, *Don Reynolds* didn't flag the video. He doesn't know how.
You have a new subscriber after seeing your video, i agree tony khan is no nice guy, i dont get that vibe from a far im English and ive never known tony khan labeled as a nice guy untill i found out he created a new wrestling company, glad i am wwe mark for 39 years now, fck aew 😂😂
To answer your question with which you started the video: He isn't polarizing. Everyone acknowledges that Tony Khan is an absolute moron when it comes to wrestling and business. Everyone acknowledges that he is what is known as a "money mark." The only polarizing thing is whether or not the product of his habit of throwing his father's money at his ever-growing army of action figures has produced a wrestling product that's worth watching, despite Tony Khan's ineptitude.
I think it’s swinging more in that direction for sure. We did spend a good half a decade though watching certain sects of wrestling fans pretend he was a genius Booker.
I want you to go back and listen to what was said again and use some basic comprehension skills. Clear as day; use veteran talent, listen to veteran talent, and respect veteran talent. How you got either of your two points from this is baffling.
To sum it up...Tony's the bag...like Dixie Carter. .but he like she is not a leader..He just a fan of wrestling and wants to be around the wrestlers..Added this is the biggest bag those indy guys like Cassidy will ever see...even if like some in NXT...they are ready to national TV...but AEW needed real leaders like Cody there...We see the affect since his departure....But fact is ...AEW struck gold beginning in 2019...cause at that time..WWE sucked...just a fact..
Damn y’all that was excellent. I really respect and appreciate the hard work on this one. My only slight critique is Joey sounds like he’s reading, which he probably is. It just makes the words come off a little flat instead of like a normal convo or rant would. Still fantastic a little experience and that’ll fix itself.
One - Really? Can't actually do a 15-minute reading? AI? Two - You're being WAY too harsh on Sting post-WCW. Not everyone who didn't go to WWE is looking to take the easy way out. Sting was a BEDROCK of TNA for many years, working hard and putting out top-tier pwrformances, and was quite frank when talking about his distrust of WWE after WCW fell... A distrust that proved right when he eventually DID join the WWE for that short period, being jobbed out and then injured. By the time 2019 came around, Sting was well past middle age and had given his best for decades. Other than that, great vid.

HA! Narrator says poor cm punk was bullied at aew. Fantastic! I had no idea, hilarious if true.
Good Lord. Narrator can't figure out why people blindly support Tony. MONEY, that's why. He pays them handsomely.
Meant fans. Not people paid by him clearly.
@@WRESTLINGSOUP2010 ah.
There is no direction, no vision, no leadership.
there's nothing indie about AEW
you know nothing
Great work, Mish! The hard work and long fkn hours that you pour into Soup invigorates everything around you. And no, *Don Reynolds* didn't flag the video. He doesn't know how.
You have a new subscriber after seeing your video, i agree tony khan is no nice guy, i dont get that vibe from a far im English and ive never known tony khan labeled as a nice guy untill i found out he created a new wrestling company, glad i am wwe mark for 39 years now, fck aew 😂😂
Wrestling Soup rocks!
Well done
To answer your question with which you started the video: He isn't polarizing. Everyone acknowledges that Tony Khan is an absolute moron when it comes to wrestling and business. Everyone acknowledges that he is what is known as a "money mark."
The only polarizing thing is whether or not the product of his habit of throwing his father's money at his ever-growing army of action figures has produced a wrestling product that's worth watching, despite Tony Khan's ineptitude.
I think it’s swinging more in that direction for sure. We did spend a good half a decade though watching certain sects of wrestling fans pretend he was a genius Booker.
Thanks Joey and Mish !!! Well Done !!!
Nice job
So you don't want AEW to have experienced guys, AND you don't want AEW to have young guys to build up? What DO you want?! Do you even know?
Boys that was fantastic take a bow
Well did
Damn y’all that was excellent. I really respect and appreciate the hard work on this one. My only slight critique is Joey sounds like he’s reading, which he probably is. It just makes the words come off a little flat instead of like a normal convo or rant would. Still fantastic a little experience and that’ll fix itself.
It was AI!!
@@WRESTLINGSOUP2010 ooooh that explains it, carry on then
Great job on the video, boys.
You felt like that was hard on Sting? OK
Did Vince personally injure Sting?
Well done! Marvelous!
really outstanding video (I wish it was longer though) Tony Khan is his own worst enemy (he is far from the Savior AEW fans paint him as i’d go as far as calling him the cancer within Pro Wrestling Everything he does effects the future in the long run) Sad thing is dude is a grade A Narcissist on the highest level! He is essentially the modern version of The Emperor’s New Clothes!
There is a longer version on the Patreon with some flair added in. No major loss but enough conjecture to add to the story that Joes article was trying to tell. In the future when I make these, there will definitely be extended cuts. Thank you for the compliment.
He's a Mark.
Joey reads like Daria
It’s a robot my guy.

5* exposé, bruhs.
A well put and concise case
Spectacular.
Was initially excited for aew then a few years in it was clear that it’s just Tony khan booking stuff he wants to see. Whole product turned into predictable dookie once Cody left
How did it take you years to see what people with common sense saw from day one?
Tony fired Punk for Tony’s mistakes.
he fired Punk for good reason stop defending him
@@davidcoombsbestmegadethalb9780 lol
