Im still calling it: Vince Russo will either be a writer or figurehead in AEW by next year, and Tony will be the one that hires him and brings him out.
The fact Tony tries to brag about numbers that have no brag credit to them just shows you how little he cares about the company. WCW was only remembered for how it ended and the final years which historically were not the best for it. But Tony Kahn wants to play young man and act like he never knew about that time.
He's basically playing the billionaire's version of a kid playing with the wrestling figures. I dont think he cares one bit about making a profit, this is just fun for him. Let's be real, if AEW goes belly up tomorrow the Kahn's will barely notice the hit.
Kinda sad TNA circa 2011 looks like WM18 compared to the garbage khan and crew produce. Im not even into wwe anymore but at least they know how to run a viable business. Khan and his yes men are just a cancer on the business
The perfect combo would have been 2011 TNA and someone with a check book like Kahn coming in, then they could have had some serious growth. They had all the talent in the world but needed a few more big household names.
@@marcespinoza6068 tbh, I still don't think that would've worked unless the promotion was run by a creative authoritarian like Vince. It seems like every wrestling organization that has meant anything past 1980 was either hijacked by the wrestlers and run into the ground or had clueless leadership that didn't understand the business. That's the thing that really sucks about pro wrestling. Unless every facet of the company is water tight it becomes a sinking ship eventually.
Pizza cutter spot messing up their sponsor, emulating the number 3 company?, denying ROH a streaming deal, can't get his staff to cooperate. Business sense staggeringly 0.
I'm still holding out hope that AEW will turn things around next year. With the elite finally out of the spotlight, they can focus on building a more serious product around guys like Swerve Strickland, Jay White, Christian, Joe, Ospreay etc.
The forbes article was based off of nothing other than speculation, no facts, written by someone with zero knowledge on costs or anything in wrestling.
"but everything is great, because of these numbers and great analytics I looked up, and you know, we have great shows and watch Dynamite it was great, out sales are just plain great" Thanks guys ...
The same guy who used ROH to start His first PPV then proceeded to take all of their talent. Then when it's a dead carcus buys the company is not a nice guy. AEW fannboy's wake up he's a typical entitled Trust Fund Baby.
Networks are finally catching on wrestling in general is less revenue generating than a reality show at a fraction of cost. 😂 lots of media rights are up and the BS is over.
Eric didn't have a meltdown. Tony did. And I hate both. Eric spoke facts from personal experience. Tony is just a Bischoff who didn't work his way to the top, and rather than letting Hulk Hogan, who was making him 10s of millions, control him, TK allows literal nobodies to control him.
Welcome, it’s a mentally healthier place. I finally gave up on wrestling around 2017. I still love to listen to the Soup, Cornette and sometimes Solomonster if I need an in depth update and they are my only real contention to it anymore.
@@Kravis63 I had given up on WWE when I discovered Don Tony and Kevin Castle and once in a while they'd have Misch. Then I discovered New Japan, and thought it was refreshing to be honest. Kenny Omega and Okada were just starting their fued. I thought it was such a breath of fresh air because it added a mix of sports with their Suzuki's and Ishii's and what not. I thought the Young Bucks with their RUclips channel was also neat, but now I look at what is presented now, and I regret spending all that time following their story... There had been no payoffs for following story, just corporate sauce, nothing but pure corporate sauce. I want my time back.
The bar is so low that Tony is comparing his ticket sales to 1994 WCW. The thing is, and Ive heard Cornette say it, I've hear Eric say it, Dutch Mantell and Kevin Nash have all said it, 91-95 were about the worst years for wrestling from a business standpoint. Congratulations Tony, you're doing as bad as everyone did when things were at their worst.
I think one of their biggest failures is not investing in creating their own streaming service. Tony has the money to do it, but he isn’t. He could have a licensed ROH, PWG, Impact, Chikara, CZW, Japan, AAA, indies in Canada and the UK, etc. He has the talent on his roster, who could be talking heads in documentaries about these companies as well. He’s more interested in getting praise, making friends, and playing with his toys. That streaming service would have been a huge alternative for wrestling fans, but it’s never going to happen.
Wembley only sits 90,000 dude.. 200,000 is a bit of a stretch! Over here in UK were starved of wrestling so it’s always going to sell tickets but when you look at the opening sales of 30,000 thats the proper AEW fans the rest is just people having a day out
Eric sounds a bit jealous that aew have actually lasted 5 years i do think that tony should have other experienced people helping run the conpany but you have to give him credit for starting a wrestling company from scratch and there still going after 5 years and have made some real stars there
"Aubrey do you flag videos?"
"Neighhhhhhh"
🐎🐎🐎🐎
Tony Khan will NEVER stop talking about WWE...that's his white whale.
White whale? Is that a coke euphemism these days?
Telling the facts is not bashing . Bashing is not telling the facts.
Im still calling it: Vince Russo will either be a writer or figurehead in AEW by next year, and Tony will be the one that hires him and brings him out.
I'm shocked it hasn't happened yet.
That might be the most exciting thing that's happened to that company.
Pls no, cant take anymore of either😂
He'll be used like Dixie used him until he forgot how email worked
I'll actually start watching the product
See this is why Bischoff is great hate him or not he tells it how it is
bischoff also worked his butt off to get where he was khan had everything handed him in life by daddy
Tony the Kid is about to lose his company like Dixie Carter lost hers. Simple as that.
Tony Khan actually quoted a wrestling website online polls as data points. You can't make this shit up.
Ha.
Tony makes him and AEW so MINOR LEAGUE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Always has been.

and don't forget empty headed adam page drinking swerve's blood

that won't happen cause the bucks's egos and tk being empty headed probs will get adam page and glass boy as the top men
The forbes article was based off of nothing other than speculation, no facts, written by someone with zero knowledge on costs or anything in wrestling.
Based Bischoff
WCW beat WWF in the ratings for….83 weeks. AEW can barely beat NXT the developmental brand.
It's like a cool lucha underground storyline but real
Do Wrestling Soup logo stickers exist? I'd like a dozen if they do.

Dixie Carter in a box 😂

AEW main problem and competitor is big bang theory. Reruns of that show outdraw it a lot, why pay AEW when you can just play a rerun instead
Smash Mouth went double platinum with their 1997 album. Those are Taylor Swift 2023 numbers for multiple albums not just one.
Well aren’t I looking kind of dumb with a finger and a thumb on the shape of an L on my forehead.
@@WRESTLINGSOUP2010i think the point is wwe is swift and aew is smash mouth in this example

Gave up in February 2002. Never watched it since. Still tentatively keep up via accidentally finding shoot interviews interesting AF in about 2016.

That all his does , but yet he f up two of their biggest storylines ever in WCW , the sting and Hogan match , and the goldberg nash match .
You guys gotta upload the hulk hogan baptism bit is was hilarious
Give me a time sig! (I’m lazy)

The Whitney Houston slot machine sent me here.
AEW might be that valuable… if Tony could be removed completely by whoever buys it, and real changes were made for the good of the business.
But their shows got 100 votes on cagematch. 😅
Put some respect in your voice when you talk about Mercy Playground!
People in the world Mercedes she's not married to Sarah ton they lied about it I know her personally
I’m sure this made Conrad cry. He’s such a big AEW mark.

Eric beat wwe 83 weeks in row when wwe was hot. Aew cant even compete with wwe they struggle versing wwe developmental product nxt. 😂
